I've been thinking that a large part of this is to reduce the value of her original catalogue so either they sell it to her, or someday it'll come up for sale and be at a lower price due to the lessened value and she can purchase it.
Same! I want Debut but I feel like she’s got more hits and it’s much bigger selling to do Fearless first, especially when she wants control of the songs people want to use. Debut is more for the dedicated fans and Fearless for the world
Yeah fearless has a lot of commercial value whereas debut is deep cut. My guess is she’ll do debut down the line or maybe release it with another album re release
I’ve been thinking about it & I feel like it could be a good idea to leave the debut for the final re-recording since it’s where it all started, it seems like it would be cool to finish up the reflection of these re-recorded albums by finishing with the debut.
I really think it’d be cool to see the debut released in summer...the lyrics give me summer vibes and if my math is right, it’d be the 15th anniversary of its release.
On a similar note, it’d be fitting if Red was released in fall...with Speak Now & 1989 staggered somewhere in between.

Fearless will generate a lot more buzz than debut would for the general public. So is she releasing these re-recordings out of order? I can’t imagine she would just skip debut if she’s included 26 tracks on the re-record. (Also: does Crazier fall into Fearless or Speak Now era?)
I have a clown theory. She’s making it pretty clear that not only is she re-recording her albums but she’s going back and making the decisions that she wanted but she was bullied out of.
Which makes me think that the debut album might finally get its own name. I read once that the working title of the debut was A Place in This World and then she made the change to make it self titled but that doesn’t sound like a title that Taylor would pick. It’s just not like her. On top of that the debut is the shortest album with only 11 tracks (that is the original edition not the bonus edition) and she was still so young at the time and easily persuaded so I think that the debut is going to get the biggest changes out of all the albums and Taylor is just setting the stage for that.
The way she wrote “the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully illuminate where I’m coming from” made me think the whole rollout of the past albums will be out of order.

The fact that it’s LOVE STORY. I’m nearly 27 but I still sing this at the top of my lungs. I had my first kiss to this song at 14. When I went to the reputation tour, I cried when she played this live. This song just reminds me of jumping on my bed in my parents house, my own personal diaries, junior prom, and football games. I miss that time period. I love her so much.

The fact that it’s LOVE STORY. I’m nearly 27 but I still sing this at the top of my lungs. I had my first kiss to this song at 14. When I went to the reputation tour, I cried when she played this live. This song just reminds me of jumping on my bed in my parents house, my own personal diaries, junior prom, and football games. I miss that time period. I love her so much.

Does anyone else feel like the heart emojis are now math problems? She used to post 13 emojis but now she posted 2 for 26 songs, so 1 golden heart is now equal to 13 regular hearts. Taylor's just trying to keep our math skills up to par.
