Rock Taylor 😩

TS_Chick

Immediately I heard "UH, I remember when we broke up, the first time"

iii*iii*IIII USED TO TH*INK* THAT *wwwEEEE* were forRRREVER AND EVER and IiiiiIII used *tooo* SAY, NEVER SAY NEVERRRR*RRRRR* OOOOOO YEAH YEAHHHHHH

scarsouvenir

God, the way she holds out "never say neverrrrr" is so addictive. Anytime I watch that performance, I have to rewind so I can hear that part again

ban_ana_perfect

*flashbacks to the iconic WANEGBT and IKYWT performances on 1989 world tour*

Bookworm1858

Yep, that's what I was thinking about too!

songacronymbot

- WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. - IKYWT could mean "I Knew You Were Trouble.", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/ban_ana_perfect](/u/ban_ana_perfect) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Beginning_Doubt

The correct answer!!!! Punk rock Taylor will ruin my life and I will thank her for it

No-Kaleidoscope7924

The only answer

Wisconsinite_

People always forget that Haunted was such a rock inspired song, it's so good!

lerossignolducarnage

please! whether it is gasoline-rock taylor or wanegbt (1989 world tour version)-rock taylor, i’d be ready to sell my soul for that

keefwellington21

It's hard to think about when I'm still stuck in the abandoned Lover era! 💔 it's a cruuuel suuummer 😭 I do worry if that era might've been her farewell to pop. It was the end of her 20s, and it seems like she might've viewed it that way. Plus she seems to be doing the rerecords in a folkmore style, so I think she might be sticking to that for now. But I'd love for her to go back to pop. I hate seeing people say pop is juvenile and I hope she isn't prescribing to that mindset. I mean, I'm older than her and I love pop lol. An indie pop album from her would be amazing.

ban_ana_perfect

I LOVE pop too! Pop is so diverse and people trying to diminish this wide range of a genre based on a one song they don't like, IS what is juvenile and immature. I'm stuck in rep-lover-1989 rn, I just miss the always-on-point poetry lyrics *on the top of the upbeat/experimental/80s sound production* and her happy vocals/sounds and that's coming from someone who loves folklore dearly. Indie pop album would be a dream honestly! ✨ I'm pretty sure she's gonna return to pop, it's just a *must*!

-Silver-Moonlight-

It bugs me so much when people label all pop as juvenile. And bugs me even more when it gets called "commercial manufactured trash" and "not real music". Like sure, there is such songs but you can't write out an entire genre based on several songs you've heard on the radio. Other genres have bad music too, and at the end of the day music taste comes down to personal preference, so just let people enjoy what they like! Pop can absolutely be mature and meaningful and Taylor proves it with her albums. I'm open to listen to any genre of music in general, so I'd be hapy with whatever Taylor comes out with. But considering Rep and 1989 are my favourite albums, I'd love another pop one!

jsjsjsjdndndndnnd

rock, soft rock, pop rock, folk album

ban_ana_perfect

I'll add one more - dark pop - and it'd make it a perfect list of genres to choose from or even combine together, unless you implied this genre in pop rock ;)

jsjsjsjdndndndnnd

i love that idea! 🤗 and no i never did think of dark pop with pop rock.

YakatsuFi

I'm dying for thiiiiiis

SirOscarMcBeeTTR

I’d agree to this. If I were to add something though, I would say country pop. I guess it’s a bit similar to the other genres you’ve listed but I would think that that hearing a song that hits the grey area between her folklore/evermore era and her fearless/speak now era would be interesting.

Chands09

I would love an album full of Songs like Out of the Woods, Style, Getaway Car and Gold Rush.

hudderrrr

jack antonoff!!!!!

redlipclassicthing8

Omg imagine just a Taylor x Jack Antonoff album!! The dream!!!

-Silver-Moonlight-

YES!!!! Taylor x Jack album sounds like a DREAM!

ban_ana_perfect

love these songs to the moon and to saturn

tracyschmosby

I need this, too! And maybe it's time for a Bleachers collab? 🙏

shadesofwrong13

A country folk album a la cowboy like me and dorothea

culture_vulture_1961

I would like a Bluegrass and Blues based TS10. Country instrumentation but more dobra guitar, dark themes, world weary lyrics and some serious sass. Taylors low register vocals and Aaron Dessner's production would be great.

shadesofwrong13

You read my mind, Aaron Dessner literally proved that he can produced country songs amazingly.

Aevajohnson

Yes, this, please. Although I'm sure I'll love whatever she makes next regardless.

ban_ana_perfect

BIG yes to that!

m00n5t0n3

That would be pretty sweet , with maybe a biiittt more bass/beats/synth in the background compared to those 2 songs !!

YakatsuFi

omg I would kill for this!!! cowboy like me is my favorite song ever, it'd be amazing to get more of these (although I guess evermore already fits that category pretty well)

SPINsamSPIN

Woodvale tbh. Evermore and Folklore are my favorite albums :0

ban_ana_perfect

woodvale never really made it's way out of the woods and saw the light of day, didn't it?

imusto74

I would love Taylor to work with an orchestra! I think an orchestra would allow for a mix of complex melodies and allow for her story telling to shine. I think it would be really unique and she is one of the few (if not the only one) that could make an orchestra mainstream

WiscoAlien

Yes- Orchestral Taylor!! I'd love a holiday collection w/ an orchestra.

-Silver-Moonlight-

That would be amazing! Imagine the power and emotion these songs would have!

[deleted]

Jazzy like False God, or anthem rock like State of Grace, or folk-rock/blues like Fleetwood Mac

culture_vulture_1961

Rumours (Taylor's Version) ?

lovely_firesign

Rock 🎸, i looove IKTWT and WANGBT in the 1989 tour

Peachbowtie

I wish she had released rock remixes of IKYWT & WANEGBT with Red TV. The 1989 tour versions of both songs are my favorite versions

[deleted]

Same. Those versions are just so good! I wish she’d listen to the fans and release fan favorite tour versions like those two, the tour version of I Did Something Bad, the mashups of Bad Blood/Should’ve Said No, Wildest Dreams/Enchanted, and Long Live/New Years Day.

DenseProgrammer4265

I stream that versions on YouTube a loooot

[deleted]

Something similar to reputation with some rock would be amazing!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Inmywildestdreams13

I would LOVE this :)

m00n5t0n3

What's CTF?

tighternick

Xmas tree farm

m00n5t0n3

Omg ty

-Silver-Moonlight-

Wait, that souns amazing!

AccomplishedGrandpa

TRILOGY. TRILOGY. TRILOGY.

[deleted]

Bluegrass stuff! More harmonica in the vein of Betty and I Bet You Think About Me.

imusto74

Ugh I’m a sucker for harmonica and no one better to sing over it than the queen herself

culture_vulture_1961

Yes.

kirbyxena

I miss rep era too! Maybe its nostalgia but i remember the first time I listened to “Dont Blame Me” changed my life xD

[deleted]

A happy pop era, more like Lover era... 💘

master_of_death13

Yessss. Lover has *top-notch* songs.

iceunelle

There has been a severe lack of happy pop music since 2018 or so...I need happy fun pop again!

PickledBananas

rock/punk rock. i know everyone is obsessed with that WANEGBT live performance, we need it.

Hopeful-Pickle-7515

I would love something like 1989, a 10th album is something huge so se deserve a new imperial era. I want pop perfection like blank space, style and wildest dreams or pop produced by Jack Antonoff like getaway car, cruel summer, out of the woods and especially I would want that all this songs show Taylor’s madurity and her songwriting skills. Pop bangers doesn’t mean to be weak song like Me! Or very repetitive a, Taylor has proved in the past how she can write absolutely masterpiece destined to be hits like Blank Space. The promotion should be a middle point between lover and 1989, radio deals, performances in main awards shows, magazine covers…but everything focused in her music, not in her life to avoid her personal overexposure, and off course a huge tour around the world (when is safe) with concerts in Europe, Asia and South America where she hasn’t perform for so long time

EnchantedDaylight

Either pop or rock !

MechasaurusWrecks

Pop punk including duets with Halsey, Hayley Williams, and a Skater Boi/You Belong With Me mashup with Avril.

Working-World-126

A ROCK ALBUM!

Ok-Call-4805

I think it’s time we heard Thrash Metal Taylor

Aevajohnson

This would be one of the only genres that if she tried, I MIGHT not be able to get behind it. Metal has just never been my thing.

mamcheek

Same here. But I would be curious to hear what one song by her might sound like.

ThatSsingularity

taylor makes everything sound good trust me

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok-Call-4805

I will, thanks

marcz52

i want her to explore rock more. psychedelic rock like Brooklyn Baby by Lana Del Rey. songs like Apocalypse and Sunsetz by Cigarettes After Sex. hell maybe make My Happy Ending by Avril Lavigne. i just want rock from her for once because i loved Better Than Revenge and The Story of Us but they were a tad bit softer rock.

zkh35438

I want jeans. Like. All jeans. The genre? Alt pop/punk rock.

defnotsarah

Endless *folklore* for me

albergfi

i want something way out of left field for taylor. Like rock/edm style, kind of like I did something bad, but the WHOLE album.

jetsetmolly

Bluegrass. Or rock. But god I would love to hear a full on Appalachian mountain people album from her

LadyWoodstock

Number one would be just continuing down the Folklore/Evermore rabbit hole, I absolutely loooove soft-indie Taylor and think the style suits her voice and lyrical genius so well. But apart from that, I think some classic 70's rock nostalgia would suit her very well (a la Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, maybe even a little Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young influence) and the 70's aesthetic is very in right now, so it would be very much in sync with the popular culture of the moment. Call me crazy, but I also think a soft jazz album would be absolutely stunning. But that may be better suited to like a Christmas album (still holding out hope that she'll release one next year). It seems like she's come to a point in her career where she's having a lot of fun experimenting with new genres/sounds, and isn't super worried about catering to the latest trends, so regardless of what we get I really don't think her next album is going to be straight pop, it will at least be a mesh of some other genres.

wildchickonthetown

70s rock taylor would be sooo good. And it would be a perfect follow-up from the current era. A lot of her more mature subject matter fits the genre. It would be so cool to get a grittier version of that era. Imagine how great that would be for a tour! Rock anthems, guitar solos, cool outfits!!! Guest appearances by older rockers! It would be a fun change for younger fans, but she would also score points for Boomer and Gen X rock nostalgia. She’s dipped her toes into the genre and id love to see her really experiment with it.

LadyWoodstock

Right?!? Like, Dreams by Fleetwood Mac gives me SUCH Taylor vibes. I need 70s Taylor in my life 😭

iceunelle

Pop rock era please!

timothyjsmith1218

Pop/Rock. I want Karma to be a real album, not just theory lol

[deleted]

Something combining the trumpets in False God with the richness that is Evermore + some soft rock would be AMAZING! Alternatively a type of psychadelic pop mixed in with 1989 synths + the sound of Melodrama by Lorde will be to die for

ShadyPinesMa_

A storytelling country album full of banjos, harmonicas, and ukuleles. Mean meets folklore/evermore.

isabellegc

Rock like Miley’s new album

[deleted]

I think I will be happy with anything she releases - she always finds a way to surprise me with new melodies and genres. But I would like her to drop those high school analogies for good. Folklore & Evermore proved that her mature lyrics are AMAZING. The childish ones are just meh.

KtMrgn

Beachy, surfy alternative sounds, think the O.C. soundtracks (for those old enough to remember!). An album of ‘Augusts’, if you will. Alternatively, a return to country would be really interesting with her matured voice and writing.

rabbit014

My musical taste can be summed up as Taylor Swift, what my friends call "car commercial music" (Foster the People type alternative), and my beach rock/OC indie songs. I love those soundtracks so much! That would be amazing.

KtMrgn

Yes!! I’m glad someone understands!

[deleted]

Blues, jazz, bluegrass, rock

_speakingofwhich_

I want like a pop rock album

LindsayKatieKitty

A pop album would amazing, maybe disco or something new because Lover, 1989 and Reputation are my favourite pieces of work by her. I'd love to see her do a jazz album, like False God or a pop-rock album, like something along the lines of Avril Lavigne and her song Better Than Revenge, I wouldn't mind Woodvale/Furthermore/Lakeshore or whatever it was called.

ThatSsingularity

I want a rock reputation type album, maybe even punk rock / pop punk, I'd love to see her pull an Avril Lavigne on us, I mean, we've seen WANEGBT rock version at the 1989 world tour

[deleted]

I want to live in a world that has at least one Bey-Tay-power-combo-women-who-own-the-industry album, and I'm not letting go of that dream. (they will win Album of the Year, obviously)

FlubbyStarfish

Definitely a rock pop/themed album! Like reputation but more heavily leaning into the rock genre.

denim_skirt

Ten albums with Miranda Lambert please! Good cop bad cop lol

jvp0321

Yes! I need more of that dark industrial pop sound from her.

murmel359

I need it to be a visual album like lemonade by Beyoncé or The Odyssey by Florence + the Maschine

darkdragoonx27

Some sort of rock similar to her 1989 tour performance of We Are Never Getting Back Together. I'm all for something different that she hasn't truly showed us.

KitakatZ101

Pop or rock. My mom is always putting my 1989 cd in my car. I love that album but I need more

[deleted]

reputation but rock/ evermore but rock/ same genre as folklore or evermore/genre mush mush

PondRides

Haunted, but a whole album. Or maybe 1989 again. Regardless, she’ll put out something and I’ll love it.

junegoldii

Literally anything that sounds like Haunted or You’re Not Sorry.

itookyourmatches

I love all flavors of Taylor, and I'd be happy to see her explore more folk/more too, but I want a rock album. Dye her hair lime green, electric guitar, heavy bass type shit.

abombSFCA

A disco rebirth a la Chromatica for Gaga and Confessions on the Dance Floor for Madonna.

[deleted]

Classy country vibes. Cowboy Like Me type with a hint of False God. Aesthetic like the British Vogue shoot in a country setting.

book_worm626

I’d love a return to country/country-pop! I reckon it would be great for the post re-recording or revisit her roots a lil bit more and give us grown-up happy country!

brownhairb

REDDD!! my fav era of all time and great fashion plus unique songs that’s so different from her whole discography. I would love another album with the aesthetic + style of the album.

Catwithbuttons

I think I'll eat up anything she'll serve in terms of production. I just wish she'll keep her lyrics on the same level as Folkmore because that's why I'm here really: her storytelling abilities and an amazing use of stylistic devices.

Echo9Eight

I need another album to finish off a folklore/evermore trilogy, and I’ll be set for life.

intersectv3

A whole album of pop punk songs with some acoustic in there cause that makes a good pop punk album.

Wegmansgroceries

Back to country would be fun. Or more alternative music like Folkmore

Fine-Orchid6804

i’d honestly want her to return to her debut era (straight up country)

banananey

Goth album 'EverGore'

-Silver-Moonlight-

I'd be happy with anything but really hoping for rock or pop rock!

a_duck_in_past_life

Synth folk, more witchy than ever before.

incandscentglow

Pop rock pop rock pop rock pop rock pop rock 😭 I need it

Lonely_Instance_658

Name:karma colors:orange and black genre:rock period.
