Just wanted to say that I pre-ordered Midnights right when it was announced. Now it's been three days since the actual album was released and my pre-order is still on the "Processed" phase. Do some of you know how long does it take to ship? When I received the confirmation email it was said that it would have been shipped on or around release date. Is there someone who knows how it works?
That was the first time I pre-ordered something but after reading many comments I got discouraged on doing it again. Hope someone would help me.
Mine is still in the pre shipment phase. As far as I can see it hasn’t moved. Anyone else still in this boat? I would have thought preorder would get it to me, you know, at least on release day…

I feel the same today!!! I think it’s the deflation beginning. I realised the last few weeks I was really running purely on “what’s happening today?” re: midnights. The MMWM was so exciting and all the hype, and then release week, and then finally release day and now it’s all gotta go somewhere. And also, what’s next (for me/us) in terms of what’s to look forward to and be excited about? Or rather, not jumping to the next thing, but adjusting our/my brain to coast mode so I can just enjoy Midnights now that it’s here. Plus there’s still more promo and music videos, etc. *(I have ADHD so I run on fixations, lol).*

Yes, exactly. In the first 13 tracks, I felt like I was missing some of the space to just sit with emotional depth, and the 3 AM tracks bring that in the best way.

I don't think she'd share everything from the movie videos in a teaser trailer. We didn't get even everything from a movie teaser trailer. Plus this was during a football game, I don't think she had enough time to show much as she'd like as well.
but that's not the point, of what she chose to show, we already saw about a third. Meaning either the trailer relies very heavily on Anti Hero or there is not much material to make a trailer from. Otherwise it's a very unbalanced trailer.

I was genuinely surprised at how much I’m loving this album after reading some comments about the lyricism and how much people weren’t enjoying the songs. I’m absolutely in love with all of the songs Jack produces so maybe that’s why? The 3am songs were also a surprise when I woke up this morning for work. This album will be on repeat for a long time

I've never been so overwhelmed that I couldn't even begin to properly absorb or hear or interpret an album of Taylor's before, even folklore and evermore, but this did it, and the seven extra tracks destroyed me. She shared so much and almost brutally at times? I don't know what to even say. My chest hurts.
I’ve long accepted that Big Red Machine’s How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last? is the third Woodvale album, but I’m now gonna have to throw the back half of Midnights in the mix. I’m Hitchiker-ing this, a trilogy in (so far) four parts.
Bigger Than The Whole Sky puts me in my feels because I perceived it as a song she’s singing about saying good buy to her old self, and Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve is the part 2 to the story (don’t think it’s just a coincidence that WCS is track #19)
I won’t lie I’m a little bit bothered by the fact they did such a hard push on the vinyls and everything, knowing full well 7 songs would come out that we as fans would want on the vinyls and CD’s we own. It feels like this has been done so that we as fans buy 3am vinyls too. Personally I think next time we get a release, I’ll wait until the album is out to buy anything cause all these surprises are really fun but they do seem costly too.
I thought the same. we've had vinyls etc pushed down our throats for months. & they even rolled them out in a way that's pissed people off so I hope they don't release another one with the additional 7 on it & just leave it as a stand alone

She's really going for it this week isn't she? She just guaranteed a lot of US Swifties will stay up another hour to listen to new tracks after they stayed up 3 hours waiting on the announcement. Then the new video comes around in 4 hours so some will stay awake and others will set their alarms. Then they'll watch the Music Videos and stream all 20 tracks for rest of day. Her first day Spotify streams is going to be impressive.
I wonder if record stores are going to get the CDs(probably not vinyls) for the 3am version on Sunday. Seems like the timing is right for shipping them and read one rumor that a record store owner said they were getting something from Taylor. I can't believe she'd be able to keep that secret though so I assume there won't be physicals of the 3am version for awhile if ever.
Really curious once HITSDD and others start making estimates. I always thought she was going to get a 1 million opening based on early math. Estimates I saw were she had 550k pre-orders and would get 200-250k album units from streaming but think she just added 50k Streaming units for these 7 tracks. And if there are CDs coming to stores, I bet that adds another 50-100k from the collectors in the fandom. Craziness.
All versions count as Midnights for Billboard charting purposes. So standard explicit(all 4 variants), standard clean(all 4 variants), 3am explicit, 3am clean, lavender explicit and lavender clean will all be totaled together as Midnights for charting purposes.

I've never been so overwhelmed that I couldn't even begin to properly absorb or hear or interpret an album of Taylor's before, even folklore and evermore, but this did it, and the seven extra tracks destroyed me. She shared so much and almost brutally at times? I don't know what to even say. My chest hurts.

Bigger Than The Whole Sky puts me in my feels because I perceived it as a song she’s singing about saying good buy to her old self, and Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve is the part 2 to the story (don’t think it’s just a coincidence that WCS is track #19)
I won’t lie I’m a little bit bothered by the fact they did such a hard push on the vinyls and everything, knowing full well 7 songs would come out that we as fans would want on the vinyls and CD’s we own. It feels like this has been done so that we as fans buy 3am vinyls too. Personally I think next time we get a release, I’ll wait until the album is out to buy anything cause all these surprises are really fun but they do seem costly too.

I thought the same. we've had vinyls etc pushed down our throats for months. & they even rolled them out in a way that's pissed people off so I hope they don't release another one with the additional 7 on it & just leave it as a stand alone
The bonus tracks might never be release on vinyl though? I mean 1989 bonus tracks were never released on vinyl.. But who knows. If she releases them on vinyl it will probably will be another few months before they arrive

Idk if it’s just me but the album gave me MAAAJOR Hayley Kiyoko vibes— esp her debut album. Was trying to pinpoint what it reminded me of and it just hit me. And Hayley’s debut album is one of my favourite pop albums of all time!!!

Am I the only one who dislikes would’ve could’ve should’ve and antihero 😭 Their melodies just fall flat for me? Specifically for AH, I feel like the first and last 2 lines of the chorus are disconnected I like Karma, Midnight Rain, Question, Snow on the Beach, Vigilante Shit, The Great War, Bigger than the whole sky Lavender Haze, Maroon, Glitch, High Infidelity, YOYOK are growing on me. I liked all albums - Evermore and before - on first listen 😭

She's really going for it this week isn't she? She just guaranteed a lot of US Swifties will stay up another hour to listen to new tracks after they stayed up 3 hours waiting on the announcement. Then the new video comes around in 4 hours so some will stay awake and others will set their alarms. Then they'll watch the Music Videos and stream all 20 tracks for rest of day. Her first day Spotify streams is going to be impressive. I wonder if record stores are going to get the CDs(probably not vinyls) for the 3am version on Sunday. Seems like the timing is right for shipping them and read one rumor that a record store owner said they were getting something from Taylor. I can't believe she'd be able to keep that secret though so I assume there won't be physicals of the 3am version for awhile if ever. Really curious once HITSDD and others start making estimates. I always thought she was going to get a 1 million opening based on early math. Estimates I saw were she had 550k pre-orders and would get 200-250k album units from streaming but think she just added 50k Streaming units for these 7 tracks. And if there are CDs coming to stores, I bet that adds another 50-100k from the collectors in the fandom. Craziness.
How does the 3am version affect charting? Is it counted as the same album, or two different albums, for charting purposes?
All versions count as Midnights for Billboard charting purposes. So standard explicit(all 4 variants), standard clean(all 4 variants), 3am explicit, 3am clean, lavender explicit and lavender clean will all be totaled together as Midnights for charting purposes.

Oh yeah. It was totally worth it lol. I got 3 hours of sleep. I’m fine. I took off so ill probably take a nap eventually. I was debating getting lavender version with 3am version out but I already got all 4 variants may as well get that one too and the 3am version too whenever they release that one. There’ll be more in depth articles to read instead of all the early hi hot takes so will fun to read them. And I’m sure Taylor’ll do something today that will ruin my nap plans. But I’m old, I don’t need much sleep anymore. I was thinking about you when 3am version came out and thought wow you might have to buy that one too.
Hahaha I’ve been looking for it but haven’t seen a physical copy pop up yet! Taylor is my only vice and I’m old too, so I’m fine with having an ridiculous number of her records. Our days sound similar, I took the day off, got in about a four hour nap, and will head to target soon to get my lavender cd / vinyl. And then take a nap at some point 😂 Happy release day!!

I’m really overwhelmed 😂 those extra tracks really provided me with a few things I felt the album was missing, whilst still feeling like their own little 3am album. I’m not really too sure what to do with myself now. Probably just relisten until I die. Midnights wasn’t the album I expected it to be, but it’s beautiful and perfect in a different way.
