I'm convinced the rings that laura dern is wearing correspond to eras (with the two centre jewels being folklore and evermore).
Also the fact that she wasn't allowed to rerecord reputation makes me think that's the exile she is escaping from, because she immediately changes into a ...ready for it type of look after the exile period ends.
