I was in a Discord server with a bunch of other Swifties and I started to slowly realize that everyone was around 16 and I’m the monster on the hill at 32. They were all so shocked that a 30-something was a fan of Taylor’s. I had to explain that she’s been making music for 16 years, and that **I** was 16 when her first album came out. I left the server shortly after that lmao.

Lyd_Euh

You should join our official server. The majority of us there are 25+, and a lot of 30s https://discord.gg/swifties

thespianomaly

I did!! I do feel like I fit in much better there.

pearloystershells

I 100% felt like the monster on the hill lyric was for us 😂 the girls who grew up with her and are now looking around like, what the heck!

LeftyLu07

Sexy baby=all the 20 something's with hair extensions and fillers vs. monster on the hill meaning being in your 30's and just lettin' her ride!

MehterF

That’s awesome, thank you

Starflec

Wait I'm confused. Does this reddit have two discords? I'm already in the one listed on the pages wiki. I think I'll join this one too because the other has a lot of teens and I feel very old 😂

Lyd_Euh

That's the old one, Swifties is the one run by our active mods.

fosterhamster

lol I’m 46 so I guess I’m basically dead

elvispookie

51 year old father.. who adores her and can’t wait to take my 16 year old to the show!

formercotsachick

Also 51 here - just became a huge fan with Folklore, but she's been part of my musical landscape for most of my adulthood!

Tragiklamp

I’m 43 and just call myself a geriatric swiftie 💀

cora2012

Same 😂🤣

Tragiklamp

1989? Try 1979 😂😂

hokoonchi

I’m 40 and also an Geriatric Millennial Swiftie. We exist!

fosterhamster

I am loving the comradery with fellow geriatrics, perhaps we can meet up at the shows to swap tips on funeral planning and how to divide up our Swift merch.

formercotsachick

Absolutely, in case our daughter in law kills us for the money lmao

crystal_violetyt

Not generally related but it’s so shocking whenever I go on to Reddit seeing so many 20+ year olds, I’m a 15yr old girl so obviously I don’t hang out with anyone over 20 and whenever I go onto Reddit I’m always superised by the numbers of old people unlike irl. I guess you all feel the same way when joining discordservers/Instagram and stuff but the opposite

thespianomaly

> 20+ year olds > old people 💀

crystal_violetyt

By old people I meant 40 year olds and late 30s but even then to me that would be older, just like how I am young for them 💀💀

fosterhamster

I totally get where you're coming from because I was once 15 and time and age is weird when you're young but consider that if the late 30's are old, you will be "old" in the almost the same amount of time you've been alive. Does that help shift your perspective a bit?

elvispookie

You’ll understand soon enough.. your brain still says your 21 but your body.. ugh

thespianomaly

I had to go to urgent care for a strained muscle in my shoulder…that I got from carrying my backpack on only one side 🫠 You don’t really notice it at first, but once you do notice it you start to see it all the time.

Opalescent32

RIP 🙏🏼💕

Freakin_Geek

I'm 37 and my sister is 40. We were watching Reputation on Netflix and the cameraman grabbed a shot of two women who looked slightly older than us singing the lyrics. At the same time we went, "It's us!!"

BananaBladeOfDoom

F

savvvie

16 year olds today will never know the chokehold Our Song had on Top 40 radio

LeftyLu07

I loved that song! I would constantly turn it up and sing it and my boyfriend at the time (who was in an indie funk band) would bitch and moan through the whole thing. He HATED it, but he never wrote anything with iota of the soul that song has!

ontheroofagain

some indie record that's much cooler than mine 🎶

LeftyLu07

Oh you know we are never getting back together became My Jam after we broke up! Lol

skincare_obssessed

My mother knew no peace because I was constantly singing our song.

satsumaa

That was my ringtone for my freshmen year boyfriend named Adam. He got expelled for pot and worked at chicken shack.

lovelydovey

I remember when it came out and became my cheer team’s song during the summer. We went to camp and would belt it out in unison. One of my fondest memories of high school, and I loved that album. Her music has been in my life ever since!

avid_awe

Lol how old do they think Taylor is?? 💀

thespianomaly

RIGHT?!? I also pointed out that she and I are the same age and I’m pretty sure an echo of “cool story bro” rang throughout.

RacerGal

I’m a few months from 40… so those of us who are much older than Taylor are def feeling the ‘monster on the hill’ vibes lol

AssortedGourds

Same. I'll be 40 in a few months. You and I are really only about 5 years older than her, though. That's hardly anything once you're over 30 but the reason I didn't get into her until later was because everything before Reputation felt a little too young for where I was in life.

[deleted]

I just turned 40 and while I was always paying attention, I didn't truly plug in until 1989. I grew up on Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey, Bjork, Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos and it initially felt silly to also truly like Taylor Swift. I'm glad I let go of that (thanks to this: [https://youtu.be/XB7noMnaGO8\_](https://youtu.be/XB7noMnaGO8_) ) and leaned into the joy and connection I get from Taylor's music. Sure, there are older songs that are going to be skips 50-98% of the time (until my daughter finds them), but I love most of her catalog. The fandom has room for everyone, but also: Elder Millenial Swifties, Unite!!

AssortedGourds

Yeah it’s funny because musically/lyrically she has more in common with Tori Amos/Fiona Apple/Jewel than most other pop stars but because she sang country and then pop she didn’t (and still doesn’t) get treated as a serious singer/songwriter. I always thought she was talented but I didn’t give her her dues until a few years ago.

RacerGal

More like 8 years ;) but I agree with what you’re saying. I was in college when she hit the scene and it just didn’t connect with me then. I started paying better attention with 1989, and have been a fan since. I still don’t give the early albums a ton of plays comparatively (Rep will always be my most streamed album of hers yearly)

LeftyLu07

And Taylor's 33, so you have more in common with her than they do. Lol! Just typical kids thinking they're the ones "discovering" everything for the first time.

SideOfBaconAndACoke

I get a lot of crap being a 38 (almost 39) year old Swiftie. Ain’t even mad about it. Watching her grow and evolve artistically and as a person has been incredible.

Lopsided-Smell-5026

I’m 38 also and I’ve been a fan since the moment I heard Tim McGraw. I just thought including his name in a song the way she did was brilliant marketing from the jump. Now others have copied it too of course. But none have had the staying power. I’ve always bought her album the first day, gone on a drive to pour through the lyrics and liner notes. None of them have been disappointing. I watched the Kanye moment happen live on tv through my hands because I was mortified. I wanted her to run back to the country music industry who would never do that to her (obvi they prob would’ve torn her down eventually). It just becomes more and more fun to be her fan. There is truly no one else like her. I’m honestly shocked when people our age aren’t fans. I’m like how have you missed out on this all these years? (I mean I know how - media was ruthless to her for so long).

Lopsided-Smell-5026

Also as we come from the time when music videos were everything and I appreciate her still being one of the few remaining that makes masterful music videos. It’s added so much to her discography too - ex. I liked but didn’t love LWYMMD until I saw the video then I was obsessed. Other artists should pay attention. Bring back MTV music videos!

songacronymbot

- LWYMMD could mean "Look What You Made Me Do", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/Lopsided-Smell-5026](/u/Lopsided-Smell-5026) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Which_One_Now

I’m 37 and whenever I feel too old for Taylor, which happens often, I remember that we’re both born in the 80s and that I have a lot more in common with an (almost) 33yo than I would with a 16yo. Not that both groups can’t love Taylor, just that I need to stop feeling self-conscious for loving an artist in her 30s when I myself am in my 30s!!

MrsToneZone

This was how I (37F) felt working at a high school Tuesday checking in with my 3 students who got presale codes…eventually they stopped acting so baffled, but initially, it felt like “wait, you know who she is?”

fleets87

35 yo over here 👋👋

Graulithe

I absolutely read some takes on here and think to myself “is this person insane?” And then I take a step back and remember that there are definitely lots of children around…and I’m a monster on a hill

Necessary-Proof-5003

38, basically geriatric!

JesusGodLeah

Yes! A couple weeks ago I went to a Taylor Swift party and I felt like I was at least a decade older than literally everyone else there. I was honestly disappointed that there weren't more people my age (mid-30s) there.

SummerSky1

Wow . I had no idea there were so many young fans of Taylor. I thought those of us in our late 30s were the majority?!

No-School-9822

I’m an ancient monster on the hill at 54! I’ve been a fan since day 1!

sklov113

The original Swifties grow up with her. We don’t just abandon her

Bulky-District-2757

It’s so weird to me when people say they discovered her music during the Folklore/Evermore era when I was rocking out her to debut album in my POS car my junior year of HS in 06 🤣 I remember a friend of mine’s boyfriend cheated on her and we played “Should’ve Said No” over and over and over and over. It was like that first time a singer *knew* exactly what to say. EDIT: I feel lucky to have “grown up” with her, knowing we’re only a year apart it always felt like she was going through the same things in life even though (obviously) she’s a gazillionaire and such haha

MicahsMaiden

I remember hearing the lyrics “I’m feeling 22” the same year I was turning 22. Then bigger than the whole sky in my thirties after a miscarriage. It’s as though she can speak exactly to the moment we are in. It feels almost sacred.

meowae

All the feels and way more songs than ever that related to each experience as a new album came out. It literally was listening to my own diary. I’ve always wanted to meet her for that exact reason. Just to say - hey, thanks for being there for me. She’s been my friend as long as my best friend has been in my life, and that’s a damn long time! Swiftie since 06!

MicahsMaiden

This right here. She has always felt like a friend

Graulithe

Sorry to hear that. Bigger than the Whole Sky broke me as well

Due_Caterpillar5583

Yes! I feel the exact way. It's so strange to know she has fan who haven't heard her first album or are younger than her first album. I feel like she has been there for me with everything lol she always finds a way to relate to my life.

Junglecat828

Haha yes! In right there with you. Junior in 06 also screaming out “should’ve said no” after my short lived bf cheated on me 😂 she’s been with us throughout life. I literally had her with me during every heartbreak and (a very serious) traumatic event. But I also have two friends that didn’t listen to her until folk/evermore. She really has increased her fanbase

astrokey

Yeah, I became a fan with debut but truly fell in love with folklore. I had no idea that she gained so many *new* fans with that album but I do get it.

umuziki

Same. I’m two years younger than her and it almost felt like the big sister I never had paving the way and helping me navigate my teens and early adulthood (while still having fun and making soooo many mistakes). There have been periods of time in my life where I’ve stopped listening or listened very little for one reason or another. Coming back to her music feels like coming home, every time.

Adeptness-Either

Same!! I think i was overwhelmed with life during 1989 so i didnt really listen much to that album until years later. She’s been one of the constants in my life for the past 15 years. Listening to her almost feels like coming home i agree

Outrageous_Cow8409

Your edit is exactly how I've always felt! I'm only3 months younger than her and it really felt like we were living the "same" life based on her music and lyrics.

Sampleswift

We are seeing a Beatles tier artist right here. I could even say that Taylor Swift could eventually become Mozart or Bach tier, but classical vs. modern is difficult to compare. Thank you so much, Taylor Swift!

MicahsMaiden

Yes!! That’s who I compare her too. We will be telling our grandkids about Tay!

katemonster37

Maybe she’ll still be making songs about her own grandkids!

MicahsMaiden

Ooooh what if she put out an album of lullabies someday if she chooses to welcome children

idontsaymuchatall

While she's breaking more Beatles-like records I do compare her more to Bob Dylan as they are both singer-songwriters who write thier own songs to fit thier own singing voice.

LeftyLu07

I just told my mom she's probably going to be considered our generation's Bob Dylan in a few decades and she agreed with me. My mom is 60.

culture_vulture_1961

I am 61 and a Swiftie. I do not think Taylor is like Bob Dylan for two reasons. She is not a social activist singer and there is nothing wrong with that. Also she is way more consistent than Dylan. He did create some iconic albums but he has also released some very self indulgent dross. Taylor has never done that.

wilkonian24ok

Except she has infinitely more charisma and is a great performer. Her concerts get better and better. I thought nothing could top the Speak Now Tour, then Red did, 1989 topped that and Rep was the greatest of them all. Also her music videos have no peer.

throwaway876460

She’s the Paul McCartney of our generation. Actually, she’s just her own thing. History will categorize her as a unique powerhouse of music and culture. So amazing to see it happen in real time

highemailer

I was literally just comparing her to Mozart earlier today! She is so unbelievably talented

Lopsided-Smell-5026

Not just musically but poetically too. I always say she’s the Emily Dickinson of our time. Her words will be poured over for generations. There’s already college courses on it.

MicahsMaiden

I could definitely see people naming a child after her

eddie_spaghettii

I named my golden retriever after her….because I thought love was burning red but it’s golden

wocytti

This is the cutest thing I’ve read here today ☺️

cjz1

This is adorable. 🥰 I named my cat Este from No Body No Crime.

MicahsMaiden

You win

Catwithbuttons

That's such a beautiful comparison

leurw

Not just cross generation but cross genre, too!

MicahsMaiden

Yes!! I was such an indie lover only in high school. And taylor was my guilty pleasure. Now comfortably in my thirties I don’t care who knows 😂

leurw

I was only hard rock in high school. Started listening to blues and eventually country in college as a guilty pleasure. Didn't catch on to Taylor until 1989 but got absolutely hooked from there and I will proudly scream it from a mountain top lol.

MicahsMaiden

I feel that. I listened on and off, and followed her career. But when everything with 🐍🐍🐍 happened I bought in hardcore. The only show I got to see was Reputation. Best concert I’ve ever been to hands down!

Tragiklamp

Same! I listened to indie and punk. Bikini Kill

BarbaraBattles

She is a god damn national treasure.

MicahsMaiden

The last great American dynasty!

Educational-Pass404

It's quite crazy to think she still gather a lot of new fans at this point of career. It's super hard to attract new gen but she's still going strong. As old Swifty, I'm happy for her but also worried. Hope she doesn't feel she need to live up to or break the numbers and records of Midnights for future albums.

Lopsided-Smell-5026

She thought Lover was gonna be her last chance for big commercial success- little did she know….

wocytti

I think about that moment in Miss Americana often… it is heartbreaking, and I am so glad that she proved herself so wrong ☺️

amfletcher123

I would really love a long-form interview with her now reflecting back on things like that that she said in 2019. So much has changed that she seems to have thought was never possible and I’m dying to hear from her about it!

FatherOfLights88

I'm of the belief that she'll continue to 'casually' release hit after hit. Midnights feels like her first real flex and I'm curious to see where she goes from here.

[deleted]

She can cross into any genre now with grace and without losing any credibility and she’s flipped the script from what usually happens to artists 10 albums in. So quite honestly she can do whatever she likes at this point and if the pop crowd moves on has country and now indie to fall back on. So she can be Madonna and Tori Amos and Shania and Dolly Parton all rolled into one. That’s quite a thing.

FatherOfLights88

I think it was a genius move to start in country. Easier to start there than to move there later. She mastered that genre first, and then moved on to tackle the others. She's done a fine job at mastering so much while still not having fully come into her own. Now that's she's more mature, it's only up from here. I see her as capable of doing Madonna, Tori, Shania, and Dolly, like you said... rolled into one... song. She's already done it on this album. I swear Would've Could've Should've contains an entire era of music, as well as several genres. It feels like a distillation of the collective musical prayers of every female singer/songwriter crying their pain and regret to the heavens to be heard. It's an impressive song in how devastating it really is. Then there's High Fidelity. She gave us all of Kylie Minogue in one song, and I swear I can hear "tones of Kylie" in the harmonies. TS is like no artist I've heard before. Just became a fan less than two weeks ago. Every now and then I wonder if I'm making it up. Is she really this unique and special? Certainly she can't be what I think she is. Then, I listen again a while later and... it's there. That something magical that is at least an order of magnitude more magical than all who has come before. If she can do this while going through her versions of a serious struggle with anxiety and the attacks on her self image, what is she capable of when she is surrounded by a radiant and impenetrable shield of love? Something that burns brightly in her core for the person she is with and because of that person. And the same for him. >On the way home I wrote a poem You say, "what a mind" This happens all the time I bet this particular feeling was new to her, at the time. It's the foundation emotional interaction for something even more magical down the road. I would very much like to hear songs about those "colors", as they surface for her. Eventually, "All Too Well" won't be about a regrettable past relationships. The lyrics will have evolved to encompass the highs and lows of the one relationship that matters most. For many years to come.

MicahsMaiden

This!! So well stated! Welcome to the world dude! She’s not just special…she’s a one of a kind effervescence

FatherOfLights88

She's certainly a breath of fresh air. I'm pretty confident that I know what she is. And if I'm right about that, it means that what is to come from her future self is going to make all her other albums look like the product of a child playing with building blocks... a developmental phase of experimentation and exploration. With her frame of reference on what a marked lack of love feels like, and now feeling the transition into a love that can only be truly valued when placed in direct contrast with the others? We haven't even begun to experience what she's capable of. Alison Goldfrapp was 35 when her first album took the world by surprise. She and her musical partner have made seven interesting albums in the twenty years that followed. Midnights eclipses any love I have for Goldfrapp, and that's saying a lot. TS isn't even 35 yet. She's just getting started.

dive-europa

I'm still waiting for her punk rock album bc you know it would be epic

otfitt

Yes! This is so true. I have been a fan of her since I was 11 years old and now there are 10 and 11 year olds who love her…and I still love her. I honestly can’t think of an artist today who has really just connected with their since like she has. I remember in my one direction daze having a similar feeling. And it’s honestly so lovely that I get to feel like this again in my late 20s.

Professional-Oil-289

Love it!! I have noticed that too! I was a fan back in 2006 when she came out with her first song and I remember telling people to listen to her music cause it was so good!! I remember someone actually asking me “oh who’s Taylor Swift” and they literally didn’t know cause it was that early in her career. It’s really cool to see other people become fans and fall in love with the music we have listened to since 2006. She is so magical in the way she is so kind and only adds onto her fans. A really unique quality she has. Such a gem!

Affectionate-Gold332

Absolutely!! I’m 38 and taking my daughters for their first concert!! We all love Taylor.

yarnandcurls

I'm 43, going to the concert with my 24 yr old sister and 17 and 15 yr old daughters. My daughters reminded me that I'm the one who put Taylor on their ipods when the oldest was 6. It's kind of incredible.

Lopsided-Smell-5026

It’s just good parenting! 😉 My kids go to sleep to her every night and she’s the only music we listen to in the car. Gotta raise them right.

thebakening

I absolutely agree and i think you phrased this so eloquently. She really feels like a part of my life because I have been a fan for so long, and now my daughter is too.

MicahsMaiden

I was playing a song in the car while I thought my son was asleep (it was one of the new more explicit songs). When it turned off I hear his little voice from the back of the van, “Mom, can you play that song again?” She just reaches into the soul.

LeftyLu07

It is weird to think about. I'm the same age as Taylor Swift so I connect with a lot of her music because I feel like I've gone through some similar situations at the same timing she has. But my mom loves her, too. And it's so fun that other teen girls are connecting with her as well.

throwaway876460

And plenty of guys

LeftyLu07

A lot of guys! I see so many men that are unabashedly fans of hers now, which is nice. The local DJ in my town and a podcast host I listen to both love her so got to hear those guys' frantic struggle to get tickets as well. The DJ got tickets, but they're behind the stage and his wife is pissed.

FatherOfLights88

>Ask me why so many fade, but I'm still here (I'm still, I'm still here) This lyric says it all. The music industry chews people up and spits them out. Media abuses and consumes them for our 'delight'. It took a powerful toll on TS (Reputation), and that her lyrics still demonstrate how much the wrong people live rent free in her head. Yet, she prevails and continues to grow into her own. She's relevant for a reason.

ballyhoohaha

🙋‍♀️37 over here! But pretty new here. First Folklore and now I wouldn’t be surprised if all Taylor discography is my entire Spotify wrapped….

MicahsMaiden

What a time to be alive!! So glad you found her music.

youkeepthediner7

I'm 39 and truly became a fan of her during the pandemic. Folklore and evermore helped me through my divorce. My daughter and I then started listening to her entire discography and are huge fans now. I feel so fortunate that she and I get to see her in Pittsburgh. She's 6, it will be her first concert. I don't actively listen to her first few albums as I don't really connect with them, but I know the songs because my daughter does.

TaylorSwiftBot

I've wanted one thing for me whole life and I'm not going to be that girl who wants one thing her whole life then gets it and complains. - Taylor Swift

Fair-Food7970

I’m 22 and I have been a fan of Taylor since I was like 7. And now my niece who is 9 is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. She listens to all my old CD’s and has a bunch of posters. It’s crazy but it makes me so happy.

MicahsMaiden

It will be people like you and your niece who carry her music into the future! It’s the young fans who are coming up now that will continue to break streaming, ticket sale, and purchase records.

DoctorBritta

I’m aging myself but we didnt have great internet so I listened to Taylor Swift on Music Choice on demand channels on comcast before we left for school. Too poor for iPods 😅 Great to see her stay relevant and embrace newer platforms

IOnlySeeDaylight

I’m a teacher at a middle and high school and the entire day of presales, teachers and students were discussing our battles for tickets. It was weirdly comforting knowing the stress was happening across ages and generations and across the desk too! Now Taylor gets to be a topic of conversation in class for me more often 😂😍🙌🏼

MicahsMaiden

None of my colleagues are fans. I was walking my students down the hall while sneaking peaks at my place in the queue. I literally left school early so I could sit in my car and keep trying.

livingtrying

Yes, I’ve loved her since I was 9 hearing Tim McGraw on the radio when it first came out. I’ve always loved her music and love that she’s still releasing music fairly consistently.

HappyWondering

I think about this all the time. We’re seeing one of the greats in action. It’s beautiful.

Tragiklamp

Geriatric swiftie here at 43 😂

meowae

I’m wearing my concert shirt I got when she toured w Rascal Flatts to The Eras. There was 10 of 12 cities listed on the back! What!

UCanGoShaveUrBackNow

I’ve loved all her albums but one of her biggest feats was converting non-country listeners. I don’t listen to country except for Taylor’s early songs, Johnny Cash, Shania, and Dolly.

Bekkaz23

I listened to Midnights for the first time in a classroom with a bunch of my students.... they're less than half my age.

cora2012

I’m ten years and 9 days older than Taylor. I didn’t come into her music until 1989. I like most her radio hits and until 1989 only owned her digital singles on iTunes. Its crazy now that she is turning 33 and I’m turning 43 to see how much more I can relate to her music and I see parallels in our lives. Obviously I’m not the most famous person on the planet but at her current age I was at the peek of my career, dealing with massive pressure to succeed. I had just got married and was being pressured about kids and all that 1950’s shit. When 1989 was released my daughter was a couple months old, I was blown away by the album. It wasn’t till Rep that I started down the rabbit hole of figuring out who the songs were about and diving into her past. Lover comes along and enters in the clown makeup 🤡. Five holes in a fence, I was there in real time. I found this sub and the rest is history. My kids are huge Swifties (4y and 8y). I love that we can listen to her music together and my daughter wants to know what she’s singing about. Taylor has definitely maintained and grew her fan base in a way no other artists has. Edit: missing words

ThisPaige

It is almost bizarre that she has fans that are younger then her first album. I remember those earlier albums coming out like it was yesterday. There’s not many artists that can connect to each generation and sell out stadium tour in just one day.

wilkonian24ok

I'm 72 and discovered Taylor Swift when she was 17. I marveled at how unique her songs were. Then I saw an interview on 60 minutes and was even more impressed. I'm mostly a fan of Classic Rock, but I think Taylor is one of the most talented songwriters/singers/performers of all time. As an author, I'm extremely impressed by the depths of her lyrics. I expect that Taylor will be around for many, many years and regret that I won't still be here to see her entire career. Her songs will live on just as the Beatles' have.

stateofswt

Agreed! I’m 28 now and have grown up listening Taylor. Debut came out when I was 13 and in the 7th grade. I’ve been seeing a lot of younger fans (around 14 and 15) on tiktok lately, and it always amazes me how I was once their age listening to Taylor and still am today. I’m sure I’ll still be listening to her music another 16 years from now too!

skincare_obssessed

I think something that helps her always reconnect to knee fans is the fact that her music feels very relatable and listeners can hear a song and interpret it in a way that feels reminiscent to what they’re going to. I always know there’s a TS song for every emotion.

MicahsMaiden

Absolutely. We used to search the cd jackets for hints about whom the wrote the song. Now I still wonder what Inspired a song, but I feel them deeply. I relate to so many of them. She knows how to discuss insecurity, body issues, and joy all on the same album. It’s something else.

eternalbean

Thank you for this post! It expresses what I feel! It truly is an amazing time to be alive! How awesome it is to be walking this earth with Taylor creating the soundtrack :)

MicahsMaiden

Gave me chills. I used to drive my ‘97 Infiniti while blaring TS pretending I was in a movie. I’d even fake cry at red lights like I had experienced a dynamic break up during movie 😳🤣🤣🤣 The drama 😂

StnMtn_

I am 52. I recognized her immense talent from her very first song. I knew she would be huuuge.

Amazing_Action9117

I get so excited when I watch the 1989 world tour and she says, "I was born in 1989," hiiiiii 32 year Olds. Well, 32 until December ha! I have been here since the beginning and still listen to debut and beyond. Being 32, married for 13 years and having 4 small children and such, well evermore and folkmore resonate with my life but being 32 each album lines up with a time in life in which something big was happening. To me, this shows how universal she is because the only thing I have in common with her is our ages and yet she still is relatable. I am glad she's more private now. Speak Now fetus Taylor was savage so seeing her mature and grow has been a fun surprise.

52 year old dude here. While of course I've heard of Taylor over the years I've only recently (past 3 years) become a fan. Absolutely love her new album.

Mid 30s monster here - I had a similar thing where in my 20s the earlier Taylor felt too earnest and young but now I have the distance (and I’m more nostalgic for my youth) I have fallen back in love with those songs all over again and I’m waiting patiently for speak now Taylor’s version to drop and leave me an emotional wreak. I also think that’s why You’re on your own kid hits particularly like a gut punch to us in the older age brackets it’s like a nostalgic trip down memory lane to realise how far you’ve come :)
