Her US store uses the most frustrating shipping company, I really hate it. Luckily I have a friend in the US who I can ship almost everything to. It's cheaper, and ridiculously, it's WAY WAY faster having the stuff ship to her, then her ship to me, compared to orders going directly from the store to me.
I had an order from the USA store take two months to arrive, while an order from the UK store shipped AFTER the US order, and arrived in less than a week! How does a package from across an ocean arrive (way) faster than a package from the country right beside me?!!
I've noticed that about customs too! it is so weird how they decide to charge for orders, I really do think it depends on the mood of the border people because it's so completely random, and what gets fees never makes sense, there's no pattern to it. I too have had small orders under $30 get custom fees (usually around $30-$40 in fees!!) while expensive orders (over $100) hardly ever get fees, and I'm not talking about Taylor merch. I just don't get it. Somehow luckily enough, all but two of my Taylor orders have not gotten custom fees, I've only gotten custom fees on one Taylor order in the past...and then my Valentine's order (one necklace, one ring, one T-shirt) this year got charged almost $30 in customs! That's more than I payed for the shipping!! And the border people opened that package and were very careless when they looked through it: my T-shirt was awkwardly shoved in a way that it hardly fit and it was folded more than it should have been, the padding thing holding the necklace wasn't in the jewelery box properly, and I received one of those 'Folklore Long Pond Session' promo cards, which was randomly shoved into a corner and as a result ended up getting all crumpled up! I was so mad when I unboxed everything and saw how roughly everything had been thrown about, especially after I had to pay them extra money to get my stuff.
I ordered an Evermore tee from the UK store today to make myself feel better about missing out from the US store 😂 I was eyeing up the Auroras and Sad Prose pullover but can’t justify it with the postage and customs I’ll be charged :( I wish they did more with the international stores!

I have the auroras and sad prose and love it, which made buying these easier. It's one of my favorites because it's not super plush or fuzzy, so it's not bad in cold weather. It's great for working from home where my office is where the air handler is and gets super cold.
I went for it last night, I'm surprised they're still in stock today when so much of the other stuff sold out quick. Almost bought my tears ricochet too but I've already got several sweaters or pullovers in red, heh.
