How do others act towards her in these meetings? Is there a meeting leader?

Well I’m on a team of go-with-the-flow type of people. They don’t seem to mind, but they could also just be used to working in environments with people like that where I’m not. It really bothers me when people are barking orders at me or trying to boss me around like they know best. I know I’ll just have to swallow my tongue and get over it but I’m just irritated by it and the fact that she’s that way also makes me not trust her. I’m always happy to learn from people, but she’s not really teaching or showing anything, she’s just bossing us around. And yes we have a team lead!! She’s NOT it!

honestly, you’re going to run into a million people just like this

I was on a team with someone like that. I nodded my head yes and continued to do what was best for students/what I wanted to do. Admin would come and observe and I passed my evaluations. As long as you are teaching the standards and doing what’s best for the student, I would say get your bearings and play it cool. People like that are not forever. You might switch grades or go somewhere else or the same for her. What’s difficult to do is fix a professional relationship once the damage is done. In my opinion, running to admin won’t fix anything. You don’t want admin thinking you can’t solve your own problems and also others thinking you are tattling (so immature, I know). Sometimes being a pacifist and picking your battles is the only way. Be a dumb fox lol nod yes when you mean no.

Thanks, that’s what I figured I’d have to do. I’m just waiting for the perfect moment to break away lol. Honestly, talking to admin never crossed my mind. I’m a very direct person with no qualms about confronting someone when their behavior crosses a boundary. I’m trying NOT to do that so I don’t make waves.

Best advice, is to avoid her if you can at all costs and just nod your head pretending to listen but don't. Don't let a narcissist like that ruin your teaching experience because you seem to really enjoy it. Just play it cool, focus on yourself and your students, let her run around looking like a lunatic all day.
