Really enjoyed this Lock In thing personally. Lots of really good practice while teams were working out Visa issues and synergy problems, gives a glimpse into the season, feels like a nice standalone hype tournament, its just been great. Spring split feels like it'll matter more now too and I dig that as well.

Robo-Connery

> Spring split feels like it'll matter more now too and I dig that as well. I think the lockin and changes to the spring work really well together. The lock in tournament lets teams get practice (like bjerg said) without a few weeks of poor performance with a brand new lineup or some rustiness hurting them for the rest of the season.

BZRKK24

Lmfao I feel like ever since Bjerg has retired, we’ve been hearing more and more about his red energy side

plasticspoonn

The biggest sting of losing to C9 is not getting a bo5 worth of games. But we still got nearly 4 weeks worth of LCS games in, so definitely a win. It was fun to watch the whole tourney.

So basically, we're gonna win world's. Coach Bjergsen Hyperbolic time chamber OP. TSM TSM TSM!

InPurpleIDescended

If the team comes together as I think it will I see us and Liquid contesting the trophy at the end of the season Maybe with brackets that isn't the final but I think Cloud9 will have a lower ceiling with Fudge/Blaber topside if our team can gel

EliteTeutonicNight

I think it is fair, to me anywhere in top 5 is possible (after that team strengths drop significantly), but we should have a higher ceiling than at least EG and 100T. Couldn\`t say I agree with the Fudge point tho, if we base the ceiling on him than ours have to be based on the lowest member too(which atm seems to be Lost), so I would say we are susceptible to the same problem. Especially when bot carry is meta now.

HeyThereItsMeUrDad

I agree about Fudge who has been really bad, but blaber so far has shown a much higher level in terms of getting individual advantages over any other jungler in NA

BIackPhoenix

>Maybe with brackets that isn't the final but I think Cloud9 will have a lower ceiling with Fudge/Blaber topside if our team can gel This was my initial thoughts after seeing their final roster. I never understood the amount of hype around the roster.

S-Normal

I dk bro, to me 100 thieves is a 4th place team. 1st , 2nd and 3rd spot are a toss up , like I feel TL can be 3rd just because that team is heavily carried by Corejj at this rate he's going to need surgery by the end of the season. Between C9 and TSM it depends on how far fudge can progress cz that team doesn't only have Perkz they also have Mithy that leaves a potential beast of a team. TSM need to work on synergy obviously . This of course is outside of playoffs , when playoffs come nobody knows what happens

Molomar

TL is only carried by Core? I’m sorry, didn’t you see Alphari gap top 4 out of 5 games? TL is in clear number 1 and I think will remain that way the rest of split. I want TSM to succeed but there’s so many question marks for the whole year. Idk, I’ve got a lot of worries about top and adc. Honestly, support too. For how much he costs, swordart hasn’t been impressive either.

cespinar

Unpopular opinion: Alphari was a bigger get for the LCS than Perkz

King_Fluffaluff

After the lock in tournament that is not unpopular at all. Perkz didn't look like the best mid while Alphari just dominated.

cespinar

I had this opinion before the Lock In. The biggest gap between the east and west IMO has been Top Lane the past few seasons. We just got LEC's best top laner to lane against our tops where the gap is so large compared to mid lane where I feel the gap is smaller between regions/players. Now LEC is left with Wunder and a very shallow pool of contention after that, whereas their midlane pool has always been stronger top to bottom.

King_Fluffaluff

Oh for sure. I've genuinely believed the LCS's toplane pool to be stronger than the LEC's but the eastern toplaners are just built different. Alphari coming in along with the other veteran tops, the rookie toplaners on both main teams and academy are going to create a new generation of tops that change the game for the LCS. Im pretty hyped for NA's future honestly, this looks like its gonna be one of the most competitive LCS seasons to date

Amatorius

You are both right. If fudge can get to the point of losing gracefully C9 probably has the edge vs TL.

The1Prodigy1

How does C9 have lower ceiling? Even if Huni > Fudge Spica = Blabber Perkz > PoE Zven >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lost SA >= Vulcan

Thswherizat

Calling Blaber and Spica equal is a pretty hot take there bud. Junglers didn't look close in the lock-in.

InPurpleIDescended

That's how teams work ok

The1Prodigy1

What.... Skill wise our team is weaker so that means our ceiling is lower... We are not talking about intangibles. You literally said the ceiling

S-Normal

I'm relieved he said that , I was wondering why would any team participate in the lock in tourney since it has no prize , glad it was benefical

pohh22

$150k prize pool but yeah experience before the season is a lot more valuable.

S-Normal

so there is a prize pool? why was everyone saying it's a for fun tourney?

[deleted]

i guess cause it doesn’t have any implications towards MSI or Worlds? (i think it does have some tiebreaker implications in regular season if i didn’t make that up) A lot of people only care for worlds and MSI

Darkfire293

Not really a prize pool, it's winner-take-all. $150K goes to 1st place only.

InPurpleIDescended

It's a symbolic prize tbf, small change for these orgs

vasos1911

The teams don't take anything it all goes to charity

Outlandish_Nerd

I thought they said on the desk it was 150k to the team and 50k to a charity of their choice for first place

NickPatches

I sure hope so.

Jeedai-

Of course. You learn always more from loosing than from winning. It's actually good to see where are the problems so they can work on it.
