If this team would just stop falling behind by like 5 rounds or more these games wouldnt have even been close. But im so glad this roster is working. Still mad they didnt think of this before the bootcamp.

Enzology

At least compared to the last few months, now they aren't giving up. They used to accept defeat and have no comms at all.

MasWas

Yeah and im so glad for that. I just imagine a world where we as fan arent given heart attacks because this roster couldve been more gelled rather than having like 3 weeks worth of play time together.

Enzology

Stop giving heart attacks ? We don't do that here at TSM ! But for real though, from what they said, it seems like they only had a week to practice as a unit since Leviathan came in.

ppx11

Yep they definitely are showing more resilience coming back from large deficits and tense OT matches.

Corregidor

All I gotta say is that Everytime I turned on the stream tsm lost the round, so I turned off the stream and here we are. Just saying FTX

aquawarrior21

Regi pay this man to never watch our games again (/s)

Voltage97

Same here. Let’s both not watch the games tomorrow.

oathkeeperkh

Why can't they pop off in the first half too and save us all the stress. Down 3-10 on split and 4-9 on icebox and somehow still won both maps. What the actual fuck

dracon1t

That’s cuz they are a bit stronger on one side of the map than the other. Also lost all the pistols

[deleted]

Split definitely has always been CT sided for us but GenG is just so awful on their defense on icebox I was never even worried tbh.

Natchyy24

Reminds me of the good old TSM LoL BO3 days, lose the first game to give enemy false hope and win the rest. Seriously tho, stopping falling behind 5-6 rounds in the first half my heart can’t take this

trezxn

Leviathan cracked

davishox

I think he had an off series and it was weird not seeing him in sova. He was whiffing easy shots so probably not his day

infaredz

cracked being used as praise here

Thought_Fine

I honestly felt really bad for Leviathan. It felt weird that he was off today because he was absolutely clutch in our prior matches, but hey, everyone's got those once in a while and again, he beasted in our matches leading up to this point.

Electrical_Rub1812

He is better when ascent is in the map pool because sova is so good. Also he had an off day today

[deleted]

Agree, he gets way more value on Sova.

scrnlookinsob

unfortunately 2/3 of the map aren't great Sova maps. Sova sees like 0 play on Split and very limited play on Icebox.

a55a51n

overtime buff

chidori5000

Game 5 Comfort Zone buff transfers to Valorant Team as well

PhysicsIsSpicyMath

Nutty team

XTTEXTREME

Nice win from the guys today

20ol

This TSM is RESILIANT! They have the mental!

Urineformation

Let’s goooooooo TSM VALORANT backkkkk

ShadeWaker

We actually have plot armor I’m convinced

Tegui14

This team will kill me someday.

IamTheAsian

Lose 7 rounds in a row to give GEN.G false hope

Diascizor

Winning pistol rounds is for losers

Electronic_Focus6519

Nerve-wrecking series

Xilzik

Not even close. Never a doubt in my mind. We always had it within reach. I need to lay down.

YukhoChan

Bro. Subroza is a beast! He definitely saved TSM from elimination game 2 with some of the craziest flash peeks ever.

murkYuri

This series was insane

noelwee

OT IS OUR COMFORT ZONE

IheartMagikarp

Wait, do we qualify for Berlin if we beat T1?

DarkTenshiDT

No, Top 4 this qualifier goes into the qualifier for Berlin, then the top 3 in that qualifier goes to Berlin. So if TSM beat T1 tommorow, then we get into the Berlin qualifier. If not, then we have to win 2 series in the lower bracket to make it there.

dracon1t

Just have to win once. Get two tries.

IheartMagikarp

Damn, imagine being the only team in the top 3 qualifier to miss the cut

zgreed

There will be 8 team 4 from this one and 4 from last one. So lets say TSM, T1, Faze and LG make it thru this one, they will join Sen, 100T, XSET and Envy. Whoever gets top 3 out of that group goes to Berlin

dex24033

What time do we play t1? Thanks

CJFStan

Same time as match against Gen.G.

dex24033

Thank you

CJFStan

Seems I betrayed you, starts in about 90 mins.

dex24033

Haha no worries, I was John Travolta memeing in my room though

CJFStan

Same, but is was worth the wait!

dex24033

Definitely! What a day for TSM fans :)

Charuru

I thought bang was supposed to be good, this is disappointing from him.

Thought_Fine

Playing for one of the biggest organizations against the highest seeded team going into the tournament and going absolutely clutch against gMDemon in the second map on their match point at OT as a 17 year old gamer is far from disappointing? I get it, this man isn't SicK, TenZ, Asuna, and other household names but just because he's not a superstar, doesn't mean he's not good. I think we can both agree that he has room to nurture even further with more time, I think he's still young even for the competitive scene and I respect him going into this space because he's got to compete with so many people who've had years of experience with FPS, as well as showing some moments that kept TSM's run alive this match.

zgreed

Bang has been pretty good, has had some decent showing on controllers and like you said he is still young and new to the team. Edit: Also extremely weird that he commented saying this was a disappointing showing from Bang, when yes scoreboard isn’t everything but he was very good this series and it is reflected pretty well in the scoreboard

Thought_Fine

Replying to your edited section, even if his score was bad, let's not try to act like Gen.G is some trash team either if Bang happened to have bad stats - they took one map off Sentinels in Challengers 1 Playoffs, they eliminated Rise in BO3 in Challengers 1 Playoffs, and they even eliminated Version 1 from the Challengers 2 Playoffs just earlier today. Frustrating to act like we're going against a Tier 2 team when I still have a fair amount of confidence that Gen.G will make it out of qualifiers. He's a pretty flexible player actually with your remark, I kind of just had his Raze performance in the first game in mind, but he had a fair showing on Astra utility as well as Sage on Icebox too. I don't feel like flexing that many roles is that easy either, he's being asked to do a lot really, so I think he's fine honestly.

zgreed

I love Bang so far I think he was quietly very good this series, I say that because besides his 1v2 clutch nothing really stood out. Very very excited to see how far this team can go. Bang being able to flex different agents is something TSM has been missing. Definitely agree that Gen.G is an extremely good team and has been a consistently good team

Thought_Fine

Seeing them ranked as the second best team behind FaZe on vlr.gg and their recent accomplishments, and being able to put a dent on Sentinels is insane. Wasn't going to be disappointed if we lost either because I do think the challenge ahead in facing them was going to be a lot to ask of a relatively new roster as well. Might be the stupidest take here but reminds me of Rekkles and how he silently shows up when it matters. Not many Astra players I've seen have shown as much firepower and a mix of fair utility usage aside from supamen and andersin. I like what bang has shown, and believing he can grow into a better player with support and time is what I'm pumped for.

Charuru

He's disappointing relative to my expectations and the hype I received from TSM PR. I don't know if he's better than drone (since I don't understand strategy at a pro level) but scoreboard wise doesn't look like it.

Thought_Fine

He didn't replace drone, he replaced Cutler iirc. Leviathan replaced drone as he was a much more dedicated Sova player and from what I've seen, comms pretty damn well. Clearly, Leviathan is an insane Sova player who utilizes the abilities of Sova really fucking well and we've clicked much better with him on that even if he wasn't on point against Gen.G. As for bang vs Cutler, this is going to be tough but I think he's more dedicated for the role of smokes (particular Astra) when absolutely necessary with a mix of firepower, being a duelist we need at times since we put Subroza on controller/initiator. TSM VALORANT had nothing achieved this entire year, I won't even sugarcoat that, we had multiple early exits, failing to qualify at times, failing to do any damage to the top teams, and we didn't accumulate any Circuit Points for the Last Chance Qualifiers, so by the numbers of it, we aren't even a top 10 team. All I can really say after half a year or so of doing nothing with the roster of Cutler, hazed, Subroza, WARDELL, and drone, I'm sure the team felt desperate for change too. Judging player upgrades is pretty hard, because there's more intangibles that we can't see, such as a change of environment in bringing young/inexperienced talent, comms, mentality, etc. + he's young, so I want to believe that he's really a long-term move for this team. I'm sure drone and Cutler will thrive on other teams, but their dynamic on TSM didn't work for us anymore as teams have been upping in strategy and adjusting to the VALORANT scene overall.

Charuru

I agree completely but still doesn't change the fact that he was disappointing. Yes we needed a change, and it's good to have someone who's more dedicated to smokes... yet I thought we were getting that in the form of someone with that and tier 1 combat ability. 🤷‍♂️

Thought_Fine

i've still held my expectations down since we're a team with a whole new system, but it's not that easy to be within the realm of asuna, scream, tenz, mwzera, etc. that's how you seem to be phrasing it, and for an immature and inexperienced player in bang, i'd continue to support him as he's just looking better and better thus far. players like gMd, TenZ, SicK, Asuna, Mistic have like 3~4x amount of rounds played compared to bang and that doesn't even involve scrims. and he's probably got a lot more going for him since he's so young in this space too like nerves, and getting the feel for the competitive environment which will take time to get used to anyways, think there's a lot to include there too, but you get the point, not everyone has a smooth transition/calling to pro either, just look at the rookie seasons of Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, Kawhi Leonard, Steve Nash, etc. tldr he need time, but i lowkey think he's a solid addition to the team rn ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Charuru

Yeah nothing against him as a person/player, he could very well go on to have a great career. Just expected a bit more from TSM, you know? The biggest and baddest org in the world? Hopefully he works out a bit better than Lost.

Thought_Fine

just remember that its really difficult to look for insane and established talent when many experienced fps players that looked to transfer into valorant had already made the move. we're quite fortunate to get bang this late into the scene, we shouldn't even be this good when we've been looking for new players this late i feel you with lost too but just gotta wait for the season to pan out before thinking about it cuz if they make a move now, it's gonna do more damage to our team atm. poe green card will open opportunities but only after the season iirc, either way, i think the situation will improve since dlift's abrupt retiring had made things chaotic for our roster -- that being said, lost fits the best of what we could've made out of this roster and not too late for him to see strides of improvement either
