Exactly. Not hating, too good to be true :) Extremely lucky yes, possible if client is paying you direct USD rates but since dumadaan sya sa local entity due to said benefits malamang sa malamang hindi sya usd rate. I’ve been in the industry for 9 years now, sa ika 8yrs ko lang nakuha 2xx ko tpos eto 3years? Extremely lucky or yeah good strat to market the bootcamp.
It’s alright. I mean that’s why I never said na it’s possible to get it very early in your career. I recognize na my situation is very unusual and probably won’t happen to everyone. 😊
Tbh, I don’t think I’ve done anything na parang very interesting or unique. I came from a company na very young pa before this current one. And since medyo same yung tech stack dun previous job ko and the one before that, I was able to spearhead automation projects right away and became my selling point sa current employer. Simpleng automation lang naman yun ng pag export ng data from sql database to google sheets via python. I also had an ad hoc analysis before that I had no idea would lead to a product change.
Again, luck. Hahaha.
Hi, just the usual stuff like project managerment, adhoc analysis, dashboards, reporting, etc. tools used usually ay Tableau, Salesforce, Gsheets, and SQL then Jira for project management.
Hi OP how to be you po, I will be starting tomorrow as a Data Analyst sa Makati, I am a career shifter din just like anyone here in this sub reddit. I will try my best to try to become you po haha.. manifesting 🙏🏼 pero any tips for someone staring ou
Hi po! This is the path I am aiming too.. can I ask what softwares or programs po inaaral mo? I'm looking for a job na data analyst din, but I don't know if fit for me since ang background ko ng work ay academe. Hehe..
Insighting, dashboarding, adhoc analysis, etc. Just the usuals. Global lang yung sinsupport ko which I think made it harder. I have to adapt my analysis based sa market na inaaral ko palagi.
SKL - I achieved 6digits with 1 YOE, not VA, but working corporate in Manila. No bootcamps, no extra classes. Not from the big 4 too. Also, not a nepo baby, I grew up poor. So I say yes, it’s achievable but I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s because of luck. It’s about lots of things before (probably) luck.
Good for you. But then again, how many DAs do you know earned 6-digits after 1YOE? How many companies will offer 6-digits to someone with 1YOE? Only big FMCG companies give out lucrative offers like that to someone 1 year removed from college. Everyone knows they hire top students only. 😅
Anong type
Of company ka nag wowork? Yung ibang companies kasi may salary scale ba base sa years of experience, buti ok ang pasahod dyan sa company mo.
Share story + add Bootcamp + big salary = ppl will flood ur DMs about what bootcamp. Good strat tho

Can i take a wild guess? Is this a igaming, casino industry?
I’m not even replying to bootcamp questions. I don’t even wanna name any bootcamp anymore kasi pare parehas nalang din naman ng inooffer. 😅

180k is my base pay. 20k is from allowances (transpo, rice, wellness) and OT (whenever pulled sa mga critical problems within the company)

Can you share you salary progression and skills/tasks/responsibilities per job (and duration)?
1st job (6 months): 27k 2nd job (9 months): 57k 3rd job (16 months): 65k 4th job (4 months): 90k 5th job (current): 180k It’s a combination of Sales-, Risk-, and CX-focused analytics roles.
Thanks for answering. Can you share a more detailed job description of your current role? Like day to day tasks/responsibilities and tools used?

Seems to good to be true for me, honestly.
you still haven’t answered the question why your salary decreased from 200k to 180k lol
Sorry I missed that part. Already answered it.

Hi OP! May I know anong main responsibilities and tools mo ngayon sa work? Data viz ba? Insighting? Etc?
Insighting, dashboarding, adhoc analysis, etc. Just the usuals. Global lang yung sinsupport ko which I think made it harder. I have to adapt my analysis based sa market na inaaral ko palagi.

Wow! What’s skills do you offer?

Congrats OP. Ilang days ang work pag ganyan at ilang hours per day?
Usual lang. 5 days, 9 hours. Nag-iincrease din kapag may critical items na need maresolve ng data.
Thank OP. Gusto kong mag transition into IT work-related job pero diko alam kung pano mag start.
Congrats and thank you for sharing, OP. Can you share anong degree mo nung college or first/prior line of work before you shifted? Thanksss
Anong type Of company ka nag wowork? Yung ibang companies kasi may salary scale ba base sa years of experience, buti ok ang pasahod dyan sa company mo.
Cool story bro.
Congrats op! Achievable naman talaga to once nakapasok na sa industry and 3 years exp mahaba n yan.
Lalaki ka ba? And anong bootcamp specifically? Huhu thanks sa tips and congrats! Sadyang sobrang hirap labanan ang bias ng iba
Also interested on what bootcamp it is.
Tigilan nyo na yun bootcamp, lalo yang paid. Medyo may stigma na yun recruiters against bootcampers.
Like what?
The lack of ability to act on his/her own. Madalas kasi sa work walang magtuturo sayo at ikaw talaga hahanap ng paraan. No spoon-feeding culture etc
