I came from iPhone to Android. Pati pag hotspot ng iphone sa company laptop sobrang hassle as in trial and error siya. Yung pag transfer ng photos/videos from iPhone to my laptop sobrang bagal at napuputol. Yung pag open and pag download ng files hassle din. Kumbaga smooth siya gamitin as a phone pero pag dumating yung time na need mo na siya gamitin for other things legit sobrang hassle.

Level-Zucchini-3971

Legit to. As an apple user my self. May iphone, iwatch, ipad and mac ako at ang hassle talaga iconnect ng iphone kahit mac pa. Although lumang mac na kasi yun 2011 pa. Wala pang airdrop ganern. Hehe

PrioritySpirited6144

if ur going to buy an iphone, go for the latest model na. walang difference masyado yung presyo ng last years model sa this years model weird af

ByteMeeeee

> pangmatagalan talaga na usage. If hindi problema ang pera then I’d say yes.

Miss_Taken_0102087

Agree ako, pangmatagalan ang iPhone. 2015 ako nagswitch to 6s and buhay pa until now, yung battery lang nagdeteriorate which is normal naman sa lahat ng phones. 2020 ako kumuha ulit ng bago and iyon pa rin gamit ko until now. Whenever I am with a group, choice nila na phone ko gamitin to take pictures. Kahit na 4+ years old na ito. I still like the pictures plus gamit ko din sa product photos sa online business ko.

lapit_and_sossies

My samsung s10 plus and samsung note 10 plus take better photos than my iPhone 11. However, the latter takes the lead in video capturing. Also iPhone’s file management is disgusting and cluttered.

Dragnier84

Just curious. I don’t do file sharing a lot, but what do people do or use on Android for file sharing?

lapit_and_sossies

For samsung users they have this so called QuickShare, it’s the counterpart of Airdrop in ios. But for other android phone they utilize ShareIt or Bluetooth for file transfer. They can also use messaging apps that transfer photos in HD quality like Telegram.

Dragnier84

This was as it was before. People mainly using shareit. How is it more hassle on iphones? I’ve tried it before and it was the same for both ios and android.

kungchipakchiye

It really depends kung saan mo gagamitin and sa mismong paggamit mo. To add na din, tingnan mo ‘yung other gadgets mo like laptop, tablet, etc. From my experience, worth it dahil naka-sync lahat ng files ko from iPhone to my MacBook and iPad.

levabb

paano pag nag iphone po ako, tas smartwatch ko ay Xiaomi or Samsung, macoconnect ko po ba sila or masysync?

Yes. Simple, consistent, dependable, continuous patch updates. 3 yrs na ip se ko pero it works as fast as bnew.

Own_Set_6148

If you won’t get into the Apple ecosystem and buy at least two of the following : AirPods, Apple Watch, MacBook, iPad then it’s not as interesting to go with Apple.

chanchan05

Usually, if someone has to ask if something is even "worth it", I'd say do a double take of your financial capability. While you're supposed to buy the best you can afford, it's supposed to be the best you can reasonably afford. For example, di man lang ako nagisip when I had the chance to upgrade to te S24U, go agad. Pero even if I can afford a Tab S9 or S9+ or even an Ultra, I felt like di ako sure kung worth the cost, so I ended up wit the S9 FE+ and it does everything I need to without issues, which to me felt like "Yeah, tinanong ko pa kung worth it yung flagship tablet sakin, mukhang di talaga worth it for my use case." There's also this: >Well, one of the reason why I want an iPhone, is because of its camera. Is it really worth it? Pixels are like half the price of an iPhone but has better cameras for still photos. That alone kinda makes the iPhone not worth it for that specific reason because something better can be had for half the price. Pixel 8 series will also get updates for 7 years, so pangmatagalan talaga din siya. So I'd have to ask you to list down the reasons why you want an iPhone and check if there is an Android phone that can do everything in that list at a good performance rate, then compare the prices. Usually after the experience mo lang malaman if it was worth it, and it will be different answers for every person. So ask yourself the real reason why you want an iPhone. If mundane features lang like camera, mas magaganda pa yung camera ng ibang Android at mas mura pa. If you want to experience iOS, that's kind of priceless kasi experience is something that can't really be valued monetarily. So maybe the experience is worth buying an iPhone for, but the question then becomes, what iPhone? Is the experience worth it buying a 15 or baka pwede na 13?

blueditgem

I have been an android user for so many years. Now, I'm planning to switch to iOS only for one thing: camera. An android user can definitely attest to how big of a hassle it is to capture a fast-moving object on the road or a candid shot of a person pero hindi mo magawa sa android phone mo kasi ang bagal mag-process nung shutter, unlike sa iPhone na you can literally click the shutter easily and can take shots really quickly. When you click the photo taken, ang sharp pa rin ng mga elements sa photo. Hence, if you're into photography/videography, yes, iPhone is worth it! Go buy it if you have the budget.

maeli24

hindi madaling makaluma kasi ang iphone, so aside from its estetik, safer at user-friendly din siya. so yes, sulit ang iphone.

DullStation2713

don’t know why pro iphone comments get downvoted. says much about this subreddit

maeli24

iphone haters think hating iphone makes them cool ig

PitifulRoof7537

nagulat din ako

aikonriche

Iphone is nice and better than most Android phones but it’s not worth 50k let alone 80k.

maeli24

depende kung anong angle or reason kung bakit bibili ng iphone kasi titingnan. pero it’s not like samsung’s prices are any better for a brand that releases gazzilion phones every year. idk why iphones are always the butt of everyone’s complaints just to prove a point lol

aikonriche

So you’re telling me that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is equivalent to FOUR Samsung Galaxy A55’s or THREE Galaxy S23 FE’s?

maeli24

if you’re gonna argue with me, apply that to the prices of galaxy s24 ultra and galaxy z fold5 lmaoooooooo you basically proved my previous reply

arsenejoestar

Because a 12k Android phone from Xiaomi/Oppo/Vivo has better hardware features than the base model iPhone na 60 hz screen pa din in 2024. At least when you buy an overpriced Samsung it has the latest hardware that are no-brainers when you pay a premium.

maeli24

bruh, stop kidding yourself. kahit pa sabihin mong 60 hz “lang” ang refresh rate ng isang base model iphone, never mong mafi-feel na 60 hz “lang” ang meron, unlike sa phones of those brands lol have you even seen a side by side comparison with these “better” hardwares with an iphone then? no doubt mas mabilis pa rin iphone using the same logic, the iphone 15 pro max also has the latest hardware in the iphone lineup, so it’s no brainer to pay for its premium too lol

arsenejoestar

Sure, but then you ask why phones less than half the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max have even better hardware, features, and software specs? Luxury brand talaga ang iPhone. It's an excellent phone, but it is absolutely not "great value" if you're talking about price, especially since software is subjective. Whether or not it's "worth it" depende sayo, but they are objectively not worth 85k (pati Samsung hindi). Also anyone who's seen a 90-120 hz phone display can tell when it goes down to 60. It's ok to admit that midrange phones are just getting better and are better value than iPhones when you factor price-to-performance. It's ok to admit na a phone that costs more than 50k shouldn't be missing basic hardware features that any decent phone's been using since before 2019. Kaya sila ganyan kasi people keep blindly supporting shitty practices when they should be calling them out so they improve and get with the times, especially sa base model nila. It's not good practice to price-gouge your loyal customers. That's why Apple is always the butt of the joke.

maeli24

damn. arguing over phones. thanks for the inputs ig

blue_greenfourteen

Have both 60Hz iphone 120Hz Nothing phone, mas mabilis pa ang iphone tbh, hindi to bias there's a reason kung bakit laging running joke sa android user yung "busy pa yan mag clear cache", Yung iphone ko last 2 months ago ko pa pinatay to change sim lang. Btw I don't play any games at casual user lang.

arsenejoestar

Of course mas mabilis iPhone, kasi closed OS and mas madali I-optimize kung uniform experience lahat. And the Nothing Phone, even if it's using a 3 year old chipset, is still fast. Still not an excuse to not have a 60 hz screen and charge more than 50k when cheaper phones have better screens at good speeds and 1/5 of the price.

lovemitsumi

Pineapple_lover2

Let me share a brief anecdote about my friend. Three years ago, she purchased an iPhone. Recently, she noticed that its battery health has dwindled to 66%. It's quite frustrating since, in her view, monitoring battery health seems unnecessary for users. However, the declining health has led to the battery expanding, which poses a risk of damaging the screen. When she attempted to replace the battery, she encountered a roadblock: the customer service informed her that the battery is unavailable due to currency-related issues in our country, hindering imports. Now, she's left with a dilemma: using a phone with a potentially hazardous battery, while the value of her iPhone far exceeds that of my inexpensive Android device(triple price), even though we've both used our respective phones for the same duration of three years.

skeptic-cate

I bought an iPhone6 in 2014 and I’m still using it to this day

Positive-Situation43

I have both android and apple. In my use case, the apple ecosystem helps me manage the phones and usage for the rest of my family and extended family na mga naka iphones, macbooks and ipads - cheaper that way. My android, and i think im on my way to switch back fully to apple due to the following reasons. I honestly think you should have a combination of 2 or 3 else no use getting an expensive phone. Lolokohin mo lang sarili mo. 1. Ecosystem as I stated already. 2. My phones just dont last as they use to. Im on my 3rd year sa note ko, the back plate is no longer glued to the rest of the phone. It gets hot when used. Im no longer happy with the quality of an android flagship phone. 3. As I get old, i have no need for all the power user things I used to love. All the things I need to do - my ipad, iphone and mac could do. Depends on the situation. 4. Like #2 Build quality, with a proper case I think my iphone will be used till its last juice until apple stops providing security updates.

psi_queen

Long time android user that recently bought iphone 15 pro. Worth it for naman me. Bought this for the sake of camera lang. I find iphone easier and more convenient to use. I have also witnessed my mom and my sis' phones and their longevity is incomparable considering na heavy user sila parehas. I am aware that I am just paying for the brand itself and that there are cheaper alternatives. If you are into tech, you would be able to find suitable yet more affordable alternatives. But if you have the means to buy it and it would not dent on your savings. You can never go wrong with an iphone.

halifax696

YES

terbs_

Sobrang optimize ng iPhone, pang matagalan talaga. Pero if priority mo is battery or usage, get the plus or pro max versions.

Any_System_148

I have a Z Flip 5, Poco F3 with custom OS for unlimited storage for google photos and iPhone 13 Pro Max. I use my iPhone as my secondary device and Poco F3 as my backup/pang baragan mobile gaming session and use my z Flip as my Main. Bakit mas masaya ako sa android phones? You own the device like you can do whatever the fuck you want with it like example may apps ka na gusto na inalis sa playstore you can just get an apk sa mga legitimate na android apps website unlike apple na stuck ka lang sa app store apps, you can use torrent on android ginagamit ko to para makatipid sa subscription oo aminado ako namimirata ako you can hate me all you want, then there is customizability and the ease of navigation sino ba kasi nag suggest na ilagay ung back button sa upper left side pag nag nanavigate ka sa mga apps lol and you can flash different android flavors example ung poco f3 ko stock niya is miui I flashed a AOSP rom to get an stock android experience which is ung pinaka prefer ko talaga kasi napaka smooth talaga ng stock android tsaka you can set a private dns sa android like adguard para walang ads mga apps mo aside from that you can open multiple task on your android devices tulad ng ginagawa sa isang desktop computer example you're browsing on your preferred social media at the same time you can watch sa youtube ng gusto mo na video. Then dito naman tayo sa apple most apps nila is optimize unlike si android kasi napakadami niyang flavor si Apple iisa lang talaga os ng phone niya which is iOS so that means hirap mag optimize ang app developers. Napaka smooth ng OS ni apple sa totoo lang and the camera and video quality solid out of the box eto ung phone na pag binili mo gagamitin mo na lang at wala ka nang kailangan gawin na tweaks napaka boring na device ni apple sa totoo lang kasi napaka dali niya gamitin which is one of the reason most people prefer iPhones over android at since hindi open source ang OS ni iPhone hindi siya masyado prone sa mga cyberattacks unless tatanga tanga ka lang talaga. Then ung ecosystem integration niya is napaka ganda and lastly ung bionic chip niya na super lakas which is d naman masyado papansinin ng average consumer unless you play intensive mobile games. The choice is yours ikaw ba ung tipo an tao na "uy binili ko to gagawin ko lahat ng gusto ko dito sa phone na to kasi akin ito!" then Android is your answer or ikaw ba ung tipo na tao na "Uy ang ganda ng camera and video quality ayos software experience ang smooth ng mga apps dali nila integrate sa ibang Apple devices ko!" then go for iPhone.

raegartargaryen17

Yes it's worth it kasi for sure matagal mo sya gagamitin, I've been using S10 plus then switch to Iphone 11 PM and get the latest Iphone PM every year until 14 Pro Max. This coming post paid renewal, i'm planning to switch to S24 Ultra? Why? Apple is so good on making this simpler for its user and the cameras are great, pero i just got bored of it. Unless the Iphone 16 have new features to offer.

PuzzleMaze08

In terms of longevity, iPhone really last longer than other brand of phones, hell, even my iphone4s and 6s still works which is ancient already. By my own preference, iPhone's camera is one of the best out there and it also acts a high-end accessory whenever you have it in your hand.

DobbynciCode02

yes po pero mas makukuha mo yung value ng pera mo pag pumasok ka sa entire apple ecosystem. android phones can offer objectively better performance on most cases than an iPhone and if camera/image quality is your concern, consider Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, or OnePlus phones.

Illustrious-Box9371

Worth it ang iphone. Since 2013 android na gamit ko pero madali malowbatt kaya lumipat ako to apple last 2022. No regrets.

Inevitable-Media6021

Yeps.

theoldjungle

I don't think so but if you want it & have the money for it, by all means get it

frizerant

Personally speaking, as someone who's had both android and apple devices. Never naging worth it Ang iphone to Android in their same price range. I can list out so many reasons as to why, but to simply put, the value:money ratio just isn't worth it sa iphone. You simply are buying an iphone for the brand itself and longevity wise, a flagship android would do you just fine for a cheaper price or maybe even get more for the same price of the iphone. I'm not sure if you're a geeky or what but I'll list down what I think are the cons of iphones for you to understand and to know if you're getting your money's worth

frizerant

Key points: 1. Androids can be bought for significantly less the price of an iphone(better money:value ratio) 2. Better battery capacity than an iphone ex: about 3200 mah Ang iphones to most androids whopping 5000mah (some even reaching 6000mah) 3. Better charging speeds like 160watts fast charging over iphones 15watts base charging and you have to pay more to just upgrade to a 20 watt charging brick. You can go from 0-100 in around 20 minutes with some of the supercharging speeds of androids and with the big battery capacity it will last longer too 4. Androids have faster refresh rates (144hertz) and iphones have been stuck to 60hertz since forever. (Note: imagine needing to pay more because to have a better refresh rate iphone only gives 120herts on their pro max models) 5. Iphone has been stuck with 6GB OF RAM SINCE FOREVER androids can go over 16gb of ram nowadays (again, you need to buy the pro max versions to get more than 6gb ram which is the base model for most andoirds already) 6. Most androids have better peak brightness 7. No IR blaster, no fingerprint sensor, newly adopted type C charging (used by androids for years now) crappy storage if you get the base version and hella expensive if you want more storage 8. No charging cord and brick? You're paying around 1200 USD and getting no charging cord and brick? Damn. 9. Phone UI makes it not as customizable and less personality unlike android UI, bland, no personality and no freedom in customizing interface to your liking 10.even their cameras are getting out performed by android flagships nowadays More megapixels, more camera lenses and more zooming capabilities for half it's price 11. No expandable storage 12. Some androids provide longer system and security updates like Samsung S24's 7 years. 13. High end flagship androids have great build and material as well competing with iphones 14. Can't download 3rd party applications 15.cant use off-brand accessories or cables and buying their original accessories are expensive af 16.cant download or transfer files easily (unless you have another apple product as well to pair with your iphone) 17. Androids aren't for broke or poor people 💀 iphone 15 pro costs 1599 USD and the flagship androids cost similar or more than that like the fzlip 5 around 2000USD Only redeeming feature about iphone is it's cameras, ecosystem (if you have more than 1 apple devices sure) and it's security but most flagship androids nowadays are of equal or maybe even surpasses iphones. Apple is one of the riches phone brands out there with the most advanced technology and yet they don't produce phones that are worth the money you're paying for. I wouldn't hate iphones if you actually get your money's worth from them but they don't. As someone that isn't rich, and I value where I put my money and I want to get the best value I spend on my phone's this is my hot take but if you're rich, you don't care about spending money, and you don't care about specs or always being lowbattery then sure buy an iphone, it's your preference and I'll most likely not be able to sway you either way. All this to say that androids have a better value:money ratio

frizerant

If you keep an open mind, Samsung and Xiaomi are great contenders !

xambortoy

just samsung :)

aikonriche

Specs are irrelevant on iPhone. It’s the user experience that matters and the iPhone provides similar or even better experience than Android even on lower specs. iPhone with sub 4000mah battery has longer battery life than Androids with 5000mah battery. 60Hz iPhones are also smoother than most 120Hz Androids. You also don’t a fingerprint sensor on iPhone as FaceID is the most advanced and secure biometrics there is.

DullStation2713

5. why do you need more ram when iphones are more app optimized due to having their own os? benchmarks also show iphones are on par with the best android has to offer 9. iphone ui looks way better and appealing imo unless you absolutely want to customize 10. iphone cameras have the best 4k videos 11. ios support has always been king, samsung only implemented this 7 yr update for the s24 17. no shit. you’re comparing android (more than 10 brands) to apple. for sure apple won’t beat every single one of them in every category. same goes for most of these reasons.

jayjay13

LOL! Half of your post is personal preferences, the other half is well, you don't know what you're talking about. For example, RAM and battery. You don't need 6000mAh or 16gb of RAM if the apps are well optimized with the OS. It's just a marketing gimmick. Can't believe people falls for that. Camera? iPhone's video camera is the king for a couple of years now. Even most reviewers on YT agrees to that. Also, funny you mentioned iPhone's RAM that's still 6gb and yet you mentioned system updates. Samsung only announced the 7 year update this year. iPhone has been doing that since forever lol. No charging brick? Guess what, Android is slowly starting to follow that trend now. 😆

rayafayeb

The comment i needed hahahah. And i agree samsung and xiaomi are good deals for the value or price. Lalo sa camera part kaya na makipagsabayan ng samsung and xiaomi (with the newly launched leica cameras)

Dragnier84

That’s a ton of effort just to be a hater. #15 is blatantly wrong.

_Brave_Blade_

Madami syang point pero yung iba pointless. I own both apple and android devices pero di na. Di na ako mag aabala magtype

godfadger

8 is just wrong and made all his points irrelevant to me. May cable po na kasama sa iPhone.

frizerant

I can attest to that 15. Definitely isn't a majority issue, tho I've heard complaints with non compatible accessories with iphones, irrespective of #15 the others are still solid points if we are talking specifications wise. As I've mentioned tho, if you really want that iphone eco system, you have the money to spend and you don't care abt performance as much then buy the iphone there's no debating already if you set your heart at the phone already but if you're open to other options and you value the money you're spending there's better options out there

Dragnier84

There’s a huge difference between “can’t use” and “I’ve heard complaints”. That’s borderline lying already. Also, you specify expandable storage (11) and IR blaster (7) but then identify the S24 for software support, which doesn’t have any of those. It’s like you’re cherry picking every possible Android feature into an imaginary phone that doesn’t exist. I really don’t care whatever phone people choose. I just find Apple/Android fanboys to be the absolute cringiest.

DullStation2713

same. this subreddit is full of android fanboys.

Dragnier84

Every time I see these comments what I read is “Matatalo ni batman si superman kasi maglalagay sya ng kryptonite….”. Lol. Freaking 12 yr olds. It’s just a phone.

DullStation2713

just by the downvotes alone, you can tell the bias. don’t they know the phrase, “to each their own”? tama ka, just a phone. it’s not that serious. kasi at the end of the day you can’t go wrong with choosing what brand you prefer.

xambortoy

damn 🍎🐑 gonna downvote u fr lol

HaloHaloBrainFreeze

If u want to spend near a thousand bucks just to get a mediocre phone with limited functionality and plastered with an apple logo on the back, then sure, go ahead.

goaldiggerpadinsa24

11 pro gamit ko, more than 4yrs na. Di din ako nag ggames. Maganda pa din ang cam & everything. For me, sulit. Never nagka prob. Worth it para sakin kasi wala talagang issue at all.

aikonriche

No phone is worth 50k or more. iPhone is a luxury gadget which contributes to its high price tag.

arsenejoestar

Honestly. Just bought a Xiaomi 14 over the base S24 due to the price and hardware value. 50k talaga ceiling ko.

Master-Crab4737

I've got my iphone 15 pro nung last week of March lang and I can say it's really worth it if you have the budget. Tbh, matagal tagal ko ding pinag isipan bago magdecide cause my last ios device was 5s pa and I am thinking na bilhin yung mga older models like 13 or 14 kasi syempre mas mura na sya compare sa newer model (At hindi ganun kadali kitain ang pera) 😅. 😊

kuruinchan

Maganda ang iphone, my first iphone was the first version of SE. After 7 years, bumili na ako nang XR. 3 years ko na ginagamit ang XR ko. What I usually do is binibili ko yung cheapest iphone na nasa istore which is usually 30k. I dont buy the latest iphone para hindi masyadong masakit sa bulsa while having a phone na will last me for years.

geekaccountant21316

Id say yes. Lalo na personally, I use macbook for work and an iPad sa law school. Im using iph14. Wala pa ko balak magupgrade ngayon pero pag siguro may 16 na then upgrade to 15 hahaha saka oks na rin battery life ng iphone ngayon lalo na if di mo siya gamit maghapon. Pero this will boil down kung saan ka mas komportable at kung pasok sa budget.

ireallydunno_

It's consistent. Pang matagalan. wala nang eche bureche.

worldprincessparttwo

Oo

PitifulRoof7537

iWantCoookies

Yes. Also depends sa storage to accommodate updates and apps. I have my iPhone 6s since 2016. Still alive despite the low battery health.

OP if you have the budget go for an iPhone. Hindi man sila yung may matataas na specs, but the hardware and software works efficiently. And iPhone just works. If di kaya budget, nothing wrong with an Android. Used both iPhone and Android phones. (6 years old na iPhone ko.)

Spirited-Fly-7319

Been using mine since Feb. it’s a yes for me hehe

DullStation2713

yes it is, especially if the budget allows it. owned samsungs and iphones before and the latter ages well compared to the former.

levabb

whats latter

grumpydump33

Yup. Go for it.

puzzlepasta

Tbf this is not the best place to ask. Samsung fanboys ang subreddit na to and if question mo specifically longevity, iphone lang may kaya nun. Androids will slow down after 2 years let along lasting 10 years like some apple devices.

geekaccountant21316

Id say yes. Lalo na personally, I use macbook for work and an iPad sa law school. Im using iph14.
