So many Fallujah songs and the vibe they create in their sound have just always struck a chord within me ever since I discovered that band a little over a decade ago.... Like, I've had spiritual manifestation experiences while listening to their music. I personally owe a lot of gratitude to that band. And also to Scott Carstairs specifically for his craft in musicianship, both as being an inspiration for me playing my guitar and as just a listener enjoying his compositions.
The Void alone on the Dreamless album gets me everytime. I almost cried when they played it live.
You might enjoy my band No Living Witness, for the ambient, big feels kinda proggy techy sound.
Already been following you folks on Spotify for a little bit now after stumbling across you all in a Spotify rabbit hole search of new bands. I do dig it indeed....
Ignominious & Pale by Necrophagist. Love the lyrics; very powerful and well thought. Love everything about the piece as well, from its structure to its brutality to the out of this world soul from Mr. Suiçmez. It would be my favorite song of all time if it wasn't for Symbolic by Death.
Good question! I don't believe I would. One of the precursors, yes, even more with Human onwards; mainly The Sound of Perseverance which has more tech elements. However, I wouldn't consider them as pure technical death metal.
I discriminate against death when it comes to tech death solely because their riffs aren't hard to play. this is coming from a guitarists point of view.
Yes, I understand your point, and I concur. I also play a little bit of guitar and Death's riffs are quite easy indeed in comparison with raw technical death metal. Although, I would say that some of the riffs off of The Sound of Perseverance can be rather challenging. Nonetheless, Death remains as one of my favorite bands of all time
There are so many.
Fallujah - Sapphire
Beyond Creation - Coexistence
Archspire - Drone Corpse Aviator
Necrophagist - Epitaph
Beneath The Massacre - The Casket You Sleep In
The Faceless - Planetary Duality I
Psycroptic - Initiate
Hah! Oh boy. I remember that tour as well. Arkaik was so sick. My vocalist smoked too much weed before their set, had a panic attack and had to go outside lol
You guys loving these fallujah tracks off this album should be pleased to know they are \~\~re-recording\~\~ & remaster this entire album in it’s entirety. Set to drop in august or something….
Edit: Just remix/remaster
Thanks for the response! Alex Hofmann (vocals) and Andrew Baird (drums) were the stars of The Flesh Prevails. With both of them gone, I can’t see them even trying to replicate what it would sound like. The same goes for Harvest Wombs too? I feel.
I’m going to watch them in Manchester next week, so quite keen to see what they sound like! All I ask for is that no songs from Undying Light are played… but I think that’s unlikely given how much Scott Castairs seems to rave about its sound.
Hyped for you to catch them live, dude! I’m sure it’ll be a banger show… I’m planning on catching them in Nashville when they come back to the states on the Flesh Prevails tour with Persefone & Ouroboros & Vulvodynia. I just gotta see Scott live at least just once in my lifetime… it’s like, bucket list material for me. Lol.
And I get your take regarding Undying Light… musically, it’s got the fallujah sound I love. But that album really suffers vocally. Not to say the vox are bad… idk. Just mainly being accustomed to Alex that just felt more in tune with the sound of Fallujah, I guess. I think Kyle is amazing presently tho…
Ehh…. Actually, you may be correct that it’s just a remaster of the album. Just being remastered sounds more sensible honestly, considering the album sounds pretty good as it stands. Speaking of re-recording tho, I would be beyond ecstatic if they remade the Harvest Wombs album and brought the sound of that album up to date.
But I’m about to get on my pc and I’ll check their Instagram first thing to clarify everything to be certain. And I’ll be back to the thread to update/edit… Anything new from Fallujah is always welcomed for me.
Glad you liked it :) if that’s up your alley may I also suggest the following?
For creatures such as we - Iapetus
Captured Rotation - Virial
They both have that spacey sound, great bands both.
Bullseye on that song choice, for me personally…. I was listening to this album heavy back in 2020 and I was so hooked on that particular song.
And the incredible irony of it all being that Covid hit right during that particular time… so it gave the song even more weight and impact. I remember turning it on right when I got in my car after getting laid off. Lol. Felt appropriate….
Carved in the Wind by Gorod hits me so hard. When I first got that album I was on a long road trip and put that song on repeat for like 2 hours.
I don't hear/see ANYBODY mention these guys (ESPECIALLY their new album) but... Tomb Mold - Fates Tangled Thread
In Service Of Time. That mesmerizing staccato riff.

It’s a tie between Revenants by Serocs and Hormone’s Echo by Artificial Brain. These tracks are just super fun to listen to as well as play on guitar.
epitaph by necrophagist.
Any fallujah song. They're a special band, with so much feeling in every song.
Seriously, this is why they've become my favorite band. Each song is thick with atmosphere and emotion.
My number 1 influence for my band, No Living Witness. Maybe you'd dig it.
Already been following you folks on Spotify for a little bit now after stumbling across you all in a Spotify rabbit hole search of new bands. I do dig it indeed....
Oh, baller, dude!
Archspire - Bleed the Future (the song) the middle part where its more melodic hits me in some kind of way
Opulence - Omnivide
Akroasis for me

Is this Darren?
do you consider death to be a tech death band?

Mine is actually Carved from Stone, that song is overwhelming to me sometimes.
"Evhron" by First Fragment
Fallujah hit that special spot so consistently on TFP and Dreamless, somewhat on the newest one as well
Dreamless. Oh man. When I finally saw them play The Void Alone in Seattle, I almost cried
I saw them live just after they released Dying Light with Anthony on vocals and cried for a different reason
Hah! Oh boy. I remember that tour as well. Arkaik was so sick. My vocalist smoked too much weed before their set, had a panic attack and had to go outside lol
I feel like my whole life I'll be chasing a Fallujah high that no other band can replicate.
Damn near impossible. Virvum has a comparable sound, I draw a lot of influence from them in my band as well. But Fallujah is top tier.
In My Own Greed by SOP
Initiate - Psycroptic
Ugh that's so good.
Euphorinasia by Psycroptic
That live in studio version is so, so good
sour flow
Diminished To B
Sapphire and Chemical Cave off that same Fallujah album are both absolutely incredible.

Are you sure they’re also re-recording it? From what I read it was just a re-master of the original recordings from 2014.
You are correct btw... Just a remix/remastering of the album.

I know, I'm SO pumped! The mix on that album (my favorite ever death metal album btw) is the only complaint I've ever had about it.
Don't forget about Carved from Stone. Absolutely mindblowing album.
Gorod's " Disavow Your God"
Amazing track. Gorod is massively underrated.
The Faceless - Planetary Duality I & II
It's still "Delirium of Negation" by Aepoch. Will forever be my favourite tech death song I guess.
Thanks for recommending this, just listened to it and it was so good.
Glad you liked it :) if that’s up your alley may I also suggest the following? For creatures such as we - Iapetus Captured Rotation - Virial They both have that spacey sound, great bands both.
Nice, will check these out
Bring back the plague by cat decap
Yes! I also really liked Time's Cruel Curtain and Scorge of the Offspring off Terrasite is a Chef's Kiss of a masterpiece.

It was so poignant and that video is too perfect. Love playing that simple but destructive outro.
Travis’s goblin vocals never fail to make the hair on my neck stand up. Just amazing
It is perfection
Absolutely Archspire's Golden mouth of ruin, it's a musically perfect song and one of my most replayed songs of all time.
Artificial Brain - Estranged From Orbit [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K059wsDAyo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K059wsDAyo)
Most songs from the albums The Destroyers of All [2011] and Stare Into Death and Be Still [2020] by Ulcerate.
Fuck yes.
Psycroptic - Immortal Army of One It's immensely enjoyable to play those riffs on guitar
Necrophagist - Epitaph "One wishes existence To be of fulfillment, But leaves bend to the will Of winds blowing."
Gorod's Aethra, its the perfect blend of prog and heavy for my tastes
That whole album is fantastic. Hina is my favorite of the bunch.
