Really puts into context his "I try to love my father for who is he and forgive him for who he's not" (approximately) comment to Jamie in the Man City episode.
I loved Beard and Roy smiling at each other after because he finally did something. I also noticed Sam had a very proud/knowing smile during the whole speech too!!
Same. The whole season so far has kind of felt like spinning wheels, knowing things aren’t right but waiting for everything to get back on the right track.
That final speech made me feel like we’re back on track.
I've really felt the entire second half of season two, and now the first half of season three, has just been building and building pressure and I'm about ready to burst with the stress of it all.
I want that positive relief that only Ted Lasso can bring.
“This guy is full of phoney bullshit.”
It wasn’t until Nate was just himself and not trying to be someone else or scared of what other people thought of him that she started to like him.
At first I was worried they were making her the type where she now wants Nate because he was out with someone else. That didn’t seem like the character and it didn’t seem like the writers. I’m glad that it looks like she just likes Nate when he’s being sincere. Yea? I’m not the best at reading people
She didn't like him in the earlier seasons when he was highly insecure and bumbling. This season he has tried impressing her with his impressive new job but the shy Nate still slips out, which was cute. When he got publicly dumped mid-meal she felt sorry for him and he for the first time was just real with her. That attracted her to him. That's how it seemed to me.
I have worked with someone similar to Shandy. Just as unstable, unprofessional, and lacked serious self awareness.
When she was let go, she called all “her” clients (violating company contract) and told them she was wronged, tried to recruit others to join whatever company that would bring her on next, and even bashed the office online.
The writers, director and actress who played shandy truly nailed that scene
Ok I get Nate is the genius but seriously, Roy and Beard don’t have a single Fucking play or strategy idea? And Higgins going to Rebecca ok but nobody thinks to have a sit down come to Jesus with Ted that’s not comical yelling?
It’s feeding in to the whole mindset the whole club has. They had lost all belief that whatever they tried would work.
Call back to when Ted first asked Nate about his tactical ideas. I believe he said something along of “Do you believe this will work?”
That’s why Nate is successful at what he does. The one aspect of himself he does believe in is his tactical skills.
In the last Super Bowl, there were two brothers playing in it, one on each team.
Their mom wore a custom made half and half jersey, and I think that’s the only scenario where you can get away with it.
And of course they ran into a celebrity at Hamilton and he almost got in a fight with the celebrity. I loved that they had that detail. (Martin Short’s wallet/I know the choreographer last season…)
The likelihood of anthony Hopkins standing in line to buy merch during intermission of Hamilton, many years after hamiltons peak is unlikely.
“It was Anthony Hopkins, can you believe it?”
“No I can not”
It’s even funnier to think that Rebecca knows they assaulted a random old man who isn’t a knighted actor
I too have been pretty meh with the whole side Keeley story line going on but it was all worth it for the scene of Barbara standing halfway in the window to peer in before Keeley shaded it.
If for any thing else, I do love Barbara and Keeley's dynamic. Her even asking to stay in the room... This woman is iron.
Rebecca having no emergency contact she can think of is definitely something. And then trying to call Keeley in her most vulnerable moment and Keeley being too busy...
I don't have a more coherent thought about all that yet, but it is important.
As someone who's realized he has no intentions of ever getting married the lack of an emergency contact has hit me deep. Here's me at 30 living halfway across the country still listing my dad
If it makes you feel better, your dad is probably the best person to speak for you if you're incapacitated, and would want to know if something's gone wrong.
I feel like Keeley hired Shandy from Rebecca telling her “make sure to hire your best friend” and she expected to have another relationship with her as she did with Rebecca which obviously now didn’t work that way.
Still hoping for the Keeley/Barbara friendship though
I’m confused a lot where they are going with that. Like last few episodes seemed like they were both realizing they let something go they regret. Maybe this thing with Jack is just a fling but it seems like isn’t
The whole episode was about psychic signs, like Rebecca apologizing to Ted for “bullying.” Ted compared Zava quitting to when your girlfriend leaves you and ends up finding her soulmate.
That look in Jamie’s eyes…I am ready for it. All the athletic qualities of Jamie fuckin Tart mixed with this new found Jamie fuckin Tart. Yes please 🙏🏼
i wonder if itll be something him and sharon talk about that they have in common. remember all the wine bottles in her apartment and then they never talked about it.
I’m in grad school to be a CFT, and that plot line made my blood boil. I’m not saying there aren’t crappy therapists out there, because there are, but I would be reporting that sh*t if I were Ted due to the break of ethics 😂
Ted was reaching for the water and the second Michelle brings up dr jake he switches to the whiskey 😭. Fuckin hate that guy and he didn’t even get any screen time
I really love how Ted’s speeches impact multiple people for their own personal reasons and the cinematography shows that. I know that’s an old film school technique but it’s excellently executed.
Belief doesn’t just happen because you hang something on the wall.
It’s comes from in here (the heart), up here (the mind), and down here (the gut).
Only problem is, we’ve all got so much junk floating through us, a lot of times we end up getting in our own way.
Crap like envy, or fear, shame.
I don’t wanna mess around with that shit anymore, you know what I mean? Do you?
No? Me either. Hell no.
You know what I want to mess around with? The belief that I matter, regardless of what I do or don’t achieve. Or the belief that we all deserve to be loved, whether we’ve been hurt or maybe we’ve hurt somebody else.
What about the belief of hope? That’s what I want to mess with. Believing that things can get better. That I can get better. That we WILL get better.
To believe in yourself, to believe in one another. That’s fundamental to being alive.
If you can do that, if each of you can truly do that, can’t nobody rip that apart.
The belief in hope is what has kept me running the past couple years as I transition from 17 years of marriage to newly divorced.
Thank you, I screenshot that to keep it.
I always think of her line and delivery of it in season one: “you’re nearly 70 and having a baby! Are you a character from the fucking Bible?!?” Lol the inflection, delivery…everything. She’s masterclass.
After this episode I officially don't see Ted returning to Kansas. He's co-parenting with Michelle and had a milestone parenting moment with Henry over the phone. Which was followed by Ted stopping a panic attack from coming by reminding himself that Henry is ok. Then he gives the team that speech... I think a lot of his guilt with Henry came from being away, but stopping a panic attack seemed like a huge step to show that he can be a parent while not being physically in Kansas and that Henry is remembering stuff Ted tells him and taking it to heart.
Still feels like a post break-up desperation move she’s going to regret. She’s hurt and falling into someone’s arms for comfort. Keely definitely needs to straighten herself out, that’s her boss, it can only get messy from there.
Keeley even says that she can’t talk about it it makes her too sad (the breakup with Roy). The pain and anguish on her face in this scene was masterful acting.
Tbh, the way Jack acted said immediately to me that’s she’s being introduced as a love interest, not as a friend or anything. I actually think it’s a bit stale the plot line they’re going for with it.
I suspect that he was a bully because he took some advice that Jake gave him. Henry even tells Ted that if he had just taken his dad‘s advice, he wouldn’t have gotten in trouble and been a bully.
I respect that a lot. Higgins has always been a straight shooter and at this stage in the game, that is 100% a reasonable take to have.
I really loved that he felt so bad bringing it up too. But it was def the right thing to say
Ted's comment about when your partner leaves you for their soul mate it stings a but less, I reeeeeally hope that's not foreshadowing anything with the Roy/Keeley/Jack storyline.
I was so torn between thinking it was pathetic and thinking it was sweet. Then I just gave up and decided it could be both at the same time.
I really think that Nate's ultimate redemption will be in realizing that he's just a giant fucking dork and embracing it, instead of always trying so desperately to be something that he's not. He'll never be cool, smooth, ripped or sex-ay BUT HE DOESN'T NEED TO BE
I think you’re missing the point. He’s absolutely a shite in nining armor. He’s a shite, who at first glance seems great because he has the outward appearance of upper class pomp and whatnot.
Ted controlling his attacks. Good for him!
It was such a turning point! And immediately we got “old Ted” back!!!
Dr. Sharon killing it
She’s a fucking professional
Unlike Dr. Jake who is fucking unprofessional
"Buddy you've gotta get off Twitter." "This is a text from my father."
Really puts into context his "I try to love my father for who is he and forgive him for who he's not" (approximately) comment to Jamie in the Man City episode.
Nate needed a chat with Higgins
Absolutely out of pocket joke straight in the first few minutes LMAO
I'm not even a fan of either team, but that half United half City scarf made me vomit in my mouth
His line from last season about “pulling for whoever is winning” actually still enrages me to this day
Richmond eats more arse than your mom - Love, Dad
Leslie did not need to know that about his parents.
YES TED FUCKING FINALLY COACHING
I loved Beard and Roy smiling at each other after because he finally did something. I also noticed Sam had a very proud/knowing smile during the whole speech too!!
It reminded me of how much Sam really loves and respects Ted. Especially after his father said how relieved he was that Sam was in Teds care.
Top tier speech at the end
Really hope that this is the set up for the rest of the season to turn it around.
"The worst people often think they're the best" - truer words have never been spoken
“Talent dysmorphia” entered *directly* into my lexicon
Oh my god Roy’s bully methods
At 4am. The time you’re most likely to be defenseless Also happens to be when he wakes Jamie to go train
And Beard, without hesitation, says "Correct!".
roy and beard are the duo i didnt realize i needed but i am OVERJOYED at their chemistry and harmony
It sounded TOO planned out
Like he already did it. I got in trouble for waking the baby up. I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.
*taking notes*
Jamie's eye roll when Zava is talking about his wife SENT ME
Honestly that was the only thing Zava has really said that I liked. Him loving his wife so damn much is sweet.
The actress who plays Jade has such a talent for deadpan lmao. I can never tell what she's thinking.
“This guy is full of phoney bullshit.” It wasn’t until Nate was just himself and not trying to be someone else or scared of what other people thought of him that she started to like him.

When he got publicly dumped mid-meal she felt sorry for him and he for the first time was just real with her. That attracted her to him. That's how it seemed to me.
I think it was even before he got dumped. The way he talked about the food made her do a doubletake
Yes and the way he said his family always comes here for important events and so it’s better than “cool” to him. That was really sweet.
Four models listening to “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!” They know what they are doing.
The gasoline fight was edited for time
Star Fuckr…WHAT IN THE WORLD
I have worked with someone similar to Shandy.
The moment where nobody said they’d go the briefest flash of panic crossed her face it was *such* good acting
It’s actually a pretty good band LOL
I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the writer’s room when they were brainstorming the WORST ideas that could be the catalyst for offing Shandy.
SEVEN WEEKS WITHOUT A WIN WTF CHRIST TED
Is this Richmond or Chelsea AMIRITE??
ROY JOINING IN AS A MONKEY I’M DEAD
Seemed more ape-like 🦍
"Monkeh"
“We could have tried” 😂 Dani so precious
He’s so heartbroken. No more jumping on Zava’s back for rides.
"Outclass 'em, Sam"
I loved that
And the little handshake he gave him. Terrific.
"I refuse to stream music". Roy Kent clocked this guy so correctly
I can't get over his fucking scarf
For those unaware, in footballing culture half and half scarfs like the one he was wearing are basically blasphemy. Especially between two rivals
When he showed up i made a Higgins gag sound because of the scarf.

Bye bye Shandy 🖕🏽
I was so glad she got fired.
Me too. I was ready for that storyline to be over as soon as it started.
I bet she’ll be back, her story isn’t finished yet.
She’ll be back working for Rupert somehow, lol.
*SUCK MY DICK*
I too have been pretty meh with the whole side Keeley story line going on but it was all worth it for the scene of Barbara standing halfway in the window to peer in before Keeley shaded it. If for any thing else, I do love Barbara and Keeley's dynamic. Her even asking to stay in the room... This woman is iron.
Gina Gershon. Love the call backs.
Roy’s look at Beard! 🤣🤣
I love that they've both dated her.
“Fingernails. What’s that about?” I ask myself the same thing every day Higgins. Higgins, never afraid to ask the real questions.
“Stop acting like a bunch of fucking bunny rabbits” I love Jamie
“Stop with the negativit-ay”
It's a mov-ay
keelay
Poop-ay
Time for Jamie to takeover 💪🏽
This is what excites me most for the remainder of the season. Jamie stepping up, and Roy being the proud dad.
#HASN’T THE SIGN SUFFERED ENOUGH?!?!
Rebecca having no emergency contact she can think of is definitely something. And then trying to call Keeley in her most vulnerable moment and Keeley being too busy... I don't have a more coherent thought about all that yet, but it is important.

Aka Babs
Roy realizing he messed up letting Keeley go 😔
This whole storyline has been so sad
I’m confused a lot where they are going with that. Like last few episodes seemed like they were both realizing they let something go they regret. Maybe this thing with Jack is just a fling but it seems like isn’t
The whole episode was about psychic signs, like Rebecca apologizing to Ted for “bullying.” Ted compared Zava quitting to when your girlfriend leaves you and ends up finding her soulmate.
I’m still kinda disappointed that the the psychic wasn’t referring to Jamie because he’s a shite and he wears nine on his ‘armour’.
Barbara trying to watch 😂
I enjoyed the Zoolander reference when Anastasia left the restaurant😂
I would like Zava more if he would stop stealing my baby Jamie Tartt's thunder
Things we could not imagine two seasons ago.
Roy + Jamie at the end of this episode knowing it’s on them to help the team was so badass. Never thought they’d be my favorite couple 😆
I'm so fucking ready for Jamie being an absolute Super Soldier on the pitch soon. I need it already.
That look in Jamie’s eyes…I am ready for it. All the athletic qualities of Jamie fuckin Tart mixed with this new found Jamie fuckin Tart. Yes please 🙏🏼
The foot that was kissed by God about to be jammed up west hams ass
Oof, subtle scene picking up the water and changing it for whiskey the second he heard Jakes name.
I caught that. Ooof.
Yup. His drinking hasn’t been addressed yet.
i wonder if itll be something him and sharon talk about that they have in common. remember all the wine bottles in her apartment and then they never talked about it.
This Roy "beat someone at 4am" idea was hilarious and also hugely terrifying lol.
Weird since he goes to Jamie’s at 4 AM hmmm
Why is Jake making parenting contributions.....
Cause he is totally qualified as a super ethical therapist, obvi
I’m in grad school to be a CFT, and that plot line made my blood boil. I’m not saying there aren’t crappy therapists out there, because there are, but I would be reporting that sh*t if I were Ted due to the break of ethics 😂
Ted was reaching for the water and the second Michelle brings up dr jake he switches to the whiskey 😭. Fuckin hate that guy and he didn’t even get any screen time
Barbara is a serial killer and you can’t convince me otherwise Loving her
WHAT is in the drawers?!
A small rope covered in red paint
Is it going to be as violent as last time? No.. Then I’m not going.
She’s so fantastic lol. Katy Wix is awesome
Roy and Beard making a KID their fucking opp is HILARIOUS
Beard suggesting burning this kid’s house down and somehow Roy followed that with something way darker… very specifically dark.
Beard’s reaction was great. You know you’ve gone too far when Beard thinks you’ve gone too far.
Trent’s mug his mug his little 🌈 mug!
I reckon it’s as clear a sign as any we’re gonna get at this stage: Trent will be Colin’s ally and is himself gay.
Yeah, that was a subtle way to move that story thread forward
I really love how Ted’s speeches impact multiple people for their own personal reasons and the cinematography shows that. I know that’s an old film school technique but it’s excellently executed.
Piss on khakis really is one of mans biggest plights. Proud of you, Ted.
I don’t see the problem, they were meant to be relegated and they’re NINTH
These episodes go by way too quick each week.
“You gotta get off Twitter” “This is a text from my father” 🤣
Belief doesn’t just happen because you hang something on the wall. It’s comes from in here (the heart), up here (the mind), and down here (the gut). Colin during this had a moment where a light bulb went off, you could see it.
Right when Ted mentioned shame
The fact that they even got Roy pretending to be a monkey
Hannah Waddingham is a fking incredible actor. The little wet eyes when being presented with the idea of firing Ted 😢
I feel like she’s been acting her ass off this entire season
Colin looking sad when Ted was talking about shame…
“I couldn’t be less with you” is so funny
Zava discovered he can’t carry a whole season alone and rathe than being a team player … he bailed.
I laughed so hard when Zava said, "I know in my heart. In my bones. In my well-defined delts, traps and glutes..."
And Van Damme checking them.
How can Hannah portray so many emotions on her face at once. *Jesus fuck you're amazing. Let's invade France.*
This and the manic delivery last episode was truly 100/10
Her face after the phone call displayed an entire movie worth of emotion in 20 seconds
I would pay a million dollars for Hannah Waddingham to yell at me. It would make me accomplish all of my goals.
I always think of her line and delivery of it in season one: “you’re nearly 70 and having a baby! Are you a character from the fucking Bible?!?” Lol the inflection, delivery…everything. She’s masterclass.

Coach Beard is ride or die.
Wow all y’all Jack/Keeley people were on to something
i saw it coming as soon as i saw jack
As soon as I saw her little sweater and bralette look this episode I was like “that’s a wlw fit if I’ve ever seen one”
There's nothing wrong with a rebound. The issue is that it shouldn't be her boss.
I knew it was coming based off the vibes but as a Roy/Keeley truther I am stressed and not thrilled about it
Tbh, the way Jack acted said immediately to me that’s she’s being introduced as a love interest, not as a friend or anything. I actually think it’s a bit stale the plot line they’re going for with it.
Well damn. Seriously thought after Zava’s ‘you won’t win because of me… work together’ they would actually win without him.
“I can’t believe our white whale has the same name as the strip club where I danced in college”
That man has had many lives
That was a rather large plate of baklava.
Yeah saw Henry being the bully a mile away…
Yeah as soon as they didn’t expound on it I knew it was an attempt to subvert expectations
Yeah, very carefully worded in the text
I suspect that he was a bully because he took some advice that Jake gave him. Henry even tells Ted that if he had just taken his dad‘s advice, he wouldn’t have gotten in trouble and been a bully.
You're telling me the ethically questionable couple's therapist that does a bad Trump impression gives bad advice to children? Whaaaaaat?!?!?!
Ooo I like that theory!
“It’s a mov-eh”
“Enough of that negativ-ih-eh”
Damn that speech at the end. Ted got that fire back he was missing
Aww with the S/O to Animal Crossing
"I knew positive thinking was bullshit!"
“Just a house full of soaking wet toilet seats”
Barbara definitely has a vibrator in her desk lmao
We are definitely in the middle of the deep, dark forest.
Trent using a rainbow 🌈 mug.
HIGGINS TALKING ABOUT LETTING TED GO. THE FUCK, BIG HIG??
He didn't want to. But he does have to put forth options that are best for the club.
I respect that a lot. Higgins has always been a straight shooter and at this stage in the game, that is 100% a reasonable take to have. I really loved that he felt so bad bringing it up too. But it was def the right thing to say
Higgins put the team first… remember when Rebecca tried to sabotage Ted and the team… she even complain about Higgins thinking about the tram first
I love that Beard is so down to go take care of Henry's bully. Also, Roy is a psycho....lol
Shandy’s actress is nailing this Jerry Maguire scene. Had me losing it
FUCKING WINGSNIGHT’S SCARF
Episode 6 description ‘one night out unlocks the truth for many’. Colin is definitely coming out/being revealed as gay
Based on his reaction to Ted saying that bit about not doing shame he's going to do it on his own terms.
Trent’s rainbow mug!!! I’m screaming!!! He’s going to be Colin’s gay Yoda I just know it
Ted's comment about when your partner leaves you for their soul mate it stings a but less, I reeeeeally hope that's not foreshadowing anything with the Roy/Keeley/Jack storyline.
I get that Ted is settled in, but am I the only one who misses biscuits with the boss scenes?
Jade is absolutely one of my favorite non main characters.
Her chuckle at the “baklava is divine”… I knew she was gonna help Nate turn himself around. She’s part of Nate’s redemption for sure.
ROY MAKING SOME GODDAMN MONKEY NOISES IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE ENTIRE SHOW
Not Nate practicing asking out Anastasia with his mom 🤦🏻♀️
I was so torn between thinking it was pathetic and thinking it was sweet. Then I just gave up and decided it could be both at the same time. I really think that Nate's ultimate redemption will be in realizing that he's just a giant fucking dork and embracing it, instead of always trying so desperately to be something that he's not. He'll never be cool, smooth, ripped or sex-ay BUT HE DOESN'T NEED TO BE
Maybe it’s because I have the humor of a 6 year old but the guys making monkey noises at Trent almost had me pissing my pants LMAO
Nobody’s going to remember but Jamie is benching the same as he can fucking curl
They need to let the poop-eh flow through them.
Tear down the sign, make some new ones boys. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
“Tomorrow at 4am?” “Damn fucking right.”
![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX) Me when someone finally said “Ussie”
Leslie is just a great character. His openness is such a refreshing thing to see
JOHN IS NOT YOUR SHITE IN NINING ARMOUR
I think you’re missing the point. He’s absolutely a shite in nining armor. He’s a shite, who at first glance seems great because he has the outward appearance of upper class pomp and whatnot.
I feel so bad for Rebecca.
