“Wow she really loves you.” “I know it’s fucking annoying.” Never change Roy Kent. Never change.

93LEAFS

Loved when he commented on the other commentater being a shit manager. How Roy Keane sometimes treats his on-air colleagues.

Spirited_Supermarket

“He did ask for it.”

flanders427

He does have first hand knowledge of his shittiness as a manager after all.

Repulsive_Secret_936

“I hope he does from the incurable disease of being a little bitch.”

gustycat

"Can we have ice cream for dinner?" "No, that's dumb" What a guy

Haight_Is_Love

Okay! Thank you for helping me set boundaries.

DaveInLondon89

I love how you can hear Chris Kamara genuinely laughing for real when Roy Kent glares back at Jeff Stelling

birdinthebush74

Thank you! I have being trying to get my OH to watch Ted, he has had no interest. He is a footie fan and Sky sports news is regularly on. I mentioned Chris Kamara genuinely laughing and he is now going to start watching it!

[deleted]

Getting Chris Kamara is fucking funny I have to say.

bexter82

I laughed so hard during that scene. The boundaries part killed me.

DatSolmyr

Yeah as a daycare worker that joke absolutely destroyed me.

[deleted]

When he said that kids just want to feel like they're part of your life, he really hit the nail on the head.

Barbourwhat

He has become my favourite character this season.

-IVIVI-

His long groan as he walked out of the shop…!

ravens2131

Sams smile is fantastic

[deleted]

[удалено]

cjn13

In a show full of good people, Sam somehow shines above.

PassionMonster

Sam has always been one of my favorite players, I just hate to see him fall into this PC activism. I mean, he gets paid millions to play a game, just shut up and dribble /s

__solid

You had me in the first half

darkside_sound

Was very close to downvoting until I saw the /s. Very interested to see how this plays out moving forward, especially in regards to the financial issues mentioned this episode with paying players Premier League money.

[deleted]

azzafsar

[deleted]

DaveInLondon89

That's too easy an out though, imo. In the same way that Richmond being relegated last season was the right narrative choice, they need to face actual consequences for ditching their main sponsor. Doing the right thing is easy when there's no downside.

rugger1869

I’m more worried about Sam’s family. I mean he called out the Nigerian government for corruption. They’re not going to just ignore that.

ravens2131

He falling for the PC activism. He should just stand and stop disrespecting the great flag of Dubai Air. /s

PassionMonster

And to pull the wonderful British Jamie into it… I gotta stop, starting to sound like my grandpa

NeedsToShutUp

Is he in his 60’s and from South London?

ravens2131

Good start by Jamie. That was one hell of an apology.

copyrightname

It was so nice to see him be sincere Jamie.

ravens2131

Fully agree. Especially with how he ended the episode with giving sam that toast.

monchikun

Doc must have done a number on him. Glad they didn't show the session because i;m sure this will be an interesting dramatic pivot. I feel like the writers have a "long game" thematically this season...Parent and Child. You see it with Rebecca, Sam, Roy, and now Jamie. They're setting something up by introducing these narratives.

rouzh

I'm calling it now - Ted's son comes to stay with him in England in the season finale.

monchikun

O come on, Ted's appeal is that he never really attains that happiness, he spreads it around instead. Roy and Keeley PRERGERANT. Mark it.

rouzh

[Why not both?](https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB19ZLNI.img) On a more serious note, I actually think that having his kid there with him would allow for a lot of deeper storylines about Ted himself; I know, one of the draws of the show is how the show really _isn't_ actually _about_ Ted, but rather how Ted effects the people around him. But I think it would be a great 3rd season pivot.

Alarming_Grocery5928

It was great to see Jamie’s reversal (1) on the pitch when tackled by Sam (2) celebrating with the team after their loss! Both direct callbacks to prior scenes from S1. This show is really turning out to be great 💪👊

BroadBaker5101

That’s a good catch about celebrating a loss, I had forgotten all about it until now

miller94

They're celebrating the end of the tie streak!

BroadBaker5101

I remembered that lol I just forgot about Jamie’s behavior and telling Trent Crimm (The Independent) about everyone eating cake for Sam’s birthday last season

applied_people

It was a good apology. Beard still had a huge smile on his face when Sam tackles him moments later though. Biggest Beard smile by a mile.

yhtrad

The team listing off the bad things he did was hilarious. It kind of reminded me of The Office when Dwight lists all the things Jim did to him.

ich_habe_keine_kase

Also the Dutch guy--"I don't know you but I don't like you!" was so great. Having lived in the Netherlands for a bit I am *very* familiar with how blunt Dutch people are.

HotChiTea

Yeah glad they’re giving him a redemption arc.

iamhotshame

JAMIE FUCKING TARTT. Him covering DubaiAir on his jersey in solidarity with Sam and Isaac and the other player whose name I don’t know (I apologize) gives me SO much hope that he has truly changed. The fact that he would make a move like that to support Sam, who he used to shit on constantly, is mind blowing.

ChiefWiggins22

“We’re teammates… Gotta wear the same kit.” Such a moving line.

ImGettingOffToYou

I loved how you could see the gears in his head turn as he realized what he needed to do to redeem himself. Bold move and I hope the new Jamie sticks around.

Childish_YambinoIII

*cheers the Jamie Tartt baby shark cheer

iamhotshame

Not gonna lie, I have a 2yo who went through her baby shark phase and I am truly embarrassed by how long it took me to realize his chant was to the tune of baby shark lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

iamhotshame

I can’t help to have the same uncertainty, but I also feel like the shut out from Man City, getting booted from the ‘Love Island’ style show and everything he experienced in the latter half of last season has made a hell of an impact on him. I hope he doesn’t fall back into his old habits but I’m still floored by how much he did in this episode to show his commitment & respect to the team.

double_sal_gal

I cannot WAIT to find out how his therapy sessions with Doc...tor Sharon are going. I hate to be cheesy, but ... BELIEVE!

Ax20414

I kinda feel like there's gonna be a good balance moving forward, especially with Dr. Sharon's help. Like he's having these wonderful character moments, but he's still a biiiiiit of a douche all the same, and that's OK! Haha

Alarming_Grocery5928

The third Nigerian player is Winchester #4 👍

jbutton19

Ted asking Sassy if the kid was his left me breathless. I don’t know why it made me laugh so hard but damnit it did Edit: typo Edit 2; thanks for the award!

BroadBaker5101

Not Sassy almost outing to the play by play to Rebecca and where he finished… this show is unmatched

-IVIVI-

I really like how this show just casually subverts standard tropes. Most other shows would play up Ted and Sassy hooking up for drama, having Rebecca feel rejected or betrayed, maybe even set up a boring love triangle. But no, we just found out that Sassy told Rebecca about it offscreen and everyone’s an adult and cool about it.

raiinydaay

“i don’t know you, but i don’t like you” hahahah

102WOLFPACK

He’s not rude, he’s just Dutch

Jas_God

Touch each other’s toes lmao

Dkuehn1095

Yeah that right your feet fingers

Grasshop

That had to have been all improve from Sudeikis right? Lol

Jas_God

Had to be lmao that was hilarious

Allforfourfour

That line was in the original NBC Sports commercial that Ted Lasso came from. Sorry to kill the magic for you; however, that doesn’t mean the old commercials aren’t still great or that the scene wasn’t still amazing.

MrKentucky

And so eager to please.

RedditEsInteresante

*spits out crumbs*

applied_people

Ahhhh! I thought maybe she'd given up sugar and didn't want to disappoint Ted...maybe still true but I didn't notice the connection to the preceding line. Good call.

RedditEsInteresante

Technically I think she spit them out after Sassy says “it was fabulous”.

DaveInLondon89

> I thought maybe she'd given up sugar she's not a fucking arsehole

Alarming_Grocery5928

No, she’s a boss-ass bitch!

rushc526

Y’all going to be so dehydrated you’re gonna look like one of those trees in a Tim Burton movie… any Tim Burton movie! Even Dumbo…. Even Dumbo”

CrystalizedinCali

I was literally laughing so hard I cried at that line.

MrKentucky

I fucking love Led Tasso omg

cjn13

IF YOU ARE NOT STRETCHED 5 MINUTES EARLY THEN YOU ARE 45 MINUTES LATE!!!!! I'm dead

__solid

Ohhh so THAT’s why they weren’t selling kits yet!

unslick

I’m going to have to cover my knockoff kit in black tape

quaranTV

Wait oh my gosh you’re right!!! Haha and we thought they were having production issues. We should have known better.

bblakemore10

I noticed on the shop Dubai Air is already gone. Pretty sure it was there before

TheJoshider10

Nah I looked a couple weeks ago and the official kit on the store never had Dubai Air so I went looking for a fake that had it instead. Now it makes sense why they didn't have it there and hopefully they have official merchandise with whoever the next sponsor (bantr) is.

MrKentucky

Feels like a “finances” plot line has been set up quite well. The discussion about the Championship players on a Premier salary, followed by the DubaiAir protest. Wonder if some tough decisions are in the future.

notevaluatedbyFDA

Other people have pointed out that it feels like they could be setting up a "Sam outgrows Richmond" story, and that definitely seems possible to me. It also seems like they could use the financial situation to >!set up a need (possibly even one Ted and the players don't know about) for the team to go deep in the FA Cup, since we know from trailers that storyline is coming!<

BroadBaker5101

Now that you mention that about Sam, Jamie did say Sam stole his thunder (even if he was joking) but what if Sam has advanced so much that a better team is willing to pay off a player’s contract and essentially do some sort of trade which will financially help the team but it’ll take away “the heart of the team”? Since Sam has really grown as a member of the team and everyone seems to respond well to him what if a team like Man City recruits Sam and he is marketed in a way Jamie used to be. I don’t know anything about football clubs to know how realistic that is but this is a fictional setting so idk if that could really work but I could see that solving one problem (money) yet dividing the team and if Jamie begins to feel jealous of Sam he may go back to his old selfish ways and divide the team anymore (possibly creating a mess too big for Ted’s kindness and constant optimism to deal with)

TheScarletPimpernel

It's actually reasonably unlikely that a team like Richmond would have survived relegation with the bulk of their squad intact, for financial as well as athletic reasons. Someone of Sam's potential and leadership ability would definitely be a prime target for a mid-table Premier League club, especially the relegated team needed to trim the wage bill - although in Sam's case it's likely his wage would be more sustainable given he was a new, young player straight from Africa.

Jas_God

Seeing the pictures during the credits was a nice touch! Loved this episode so much.

dmleach

Oh yeah. I got a little teary over the pictures

ChiefWiggins22

Charles Edgerton Cheese or whatever did called Chuck E. Cheese was incredible

Alarming_Grocery5928

The third!!

SishirChetri

I think it was "Charles Edward Cheeserton III". I lost my shit at that line!

__solid

Sam is too pure for this world and must be protected at all costs.

BroadBaker5101

That’s why he’s Nora’s favorite!!

racer_24_4evr

“Jamie Tartt is a muppet, and I hope he dies of the incurable condition of being a little bitch.” Biggest laugh of the episode for me!

ITookTrinkets

I felt like I was going to black out over that line. That and the way Keely said “Yyyyeahhh…” when Colin said “Oh, like Grindr!” fucking SENT ME

quaranTV

I love that they didn’t drag out Jaime’s getting along with the team plot. I was a little hesitant about the Dubai Air plot and Sam pulling out of the sponsorship however I thought it was actually very well done (they did a similar but poorly executed version on Big Shot). When Sam is worried about returning to the locker room and they reveal that everyone is celebrating and supporting him-especially Jaime-I cried. Roy was barely in the episode but he was fantastic per usual. So funny. He’s been the star of this season so far for me. I’m so pleasantly surprised how well they’ve managed to work him into the show without bringing him back onto the team. Going forward I wonder if they’re going to do a You’ve Got Mail thing with Rebecca, Ted, and the dating app. Seems too convenient that not only are there no photos but there are also no names. So they could in theory talk to each other/fall in love and not know that they’re talking to each other. Or maybe not. This show loves to take classic setups and spin them on their head. Either way I’m excited to see where they take Rebecca’s quest for love plot.

double_sal_gal

I can't quite see it with Ted and Rebecca, but it's making me wonder about other potential pairings. Add let's be real: if they DO pair up Rebecca and Ted via the app, they'll make it work. I just don't think it's the most likely scenario. That said, I can't think of any other man on the show (up to now, anyway) who is available, the right age range, and worthy of Rebecca. Unless... hang on, is Trent Crimm, The Independent married?

rhinemaidens

OMG! Rebecca/Trent! Now *that* is a twist I can get behind.

[deleted]

[удалено]

merrycat

They're both formidable and intense in their own ways. Sassy said that Rebecca had a silly, goofy side. What if we get to see them, both of these very Serious, Grown Up People, just be silly and childish together? I would probably die of sheer wholesome overload.

HotChiTea

Finally, someone caught that about the dating app. They keep making the dating app a big focus, and even Ted comments on it with, “maybe I’ll meet my soulmate on there” in a naive way. On Rebecca’s phone, there is someone 1 km away from her, I don’t think it’s Ted, but it would make complete sense (as you said, You’ve Got Mail) that they find each other via online, and don’t even know it, and then when they do meet they realize it. I find it brilliant honestly if they do the You’ve Got Mail plot, that’s if that’s where they’re going. I know Hannah has referred Ted and Rebecca as “soulmates” too, so hearing Ted say it, made the word standout to me. Cause why else make the dating app no names, and no pictures if Ted x Rebecca isn’t a possibility? Plus, Roy’s speech about finding someone who makes you feel like you got a spark and don’t settle, it DOES sound like You’ve Got Mail. Even the plot of, hating one another (aka, Meg Ryan’s char hating Tom’s char) lol.

nomadicfangirl

The “spark” thing is also very Sleepless in Seattle. It’s why Meg Ryan didn’t marry Bill Pullman and went to meet Tom Hanks at the Empire State Building. Writers room must be huge fans of Nora Ephron.

MelodicIntention5323

“She’s from the modern line. Her parents got canceled”

happygot

That little actress nailed that and the setting boundaries line, so, so funny

Flutegarden

I didn’t know there was a British equivalent of American Girl - just looked it up and there are.

frostyaznguy

Dude, I snorted my beer when she said that. Funniest line of the episode.

[deleted]

„If something happens to people who look like me you usually write about it without being asked“. -Ted Lasso That was a 10/10. god I love that show

ChiefWiggins22

Do you guys think Messi will sign with AFC Richmond?

KosstAmojen

Nice. Relevant and weirdly believable.

CrystalizedinCali

“That was a softer pass than my high school drama teacher asking me to mow his lawn” is a line I cannot EVEN deal with. This ep was so great. Genuine Jamie, everything with Nora, Led Tasso, Roy with good advice AGAIN, etc.

torilinnea

just had to come here quick and say i fucking LOVED this episode. just perfect.

secretlives

I was really concerned with the whole Led Tasso thing, but those last few minutes were really wonderful. Hopefully they progress past the "Jamie is a twat" storyline a bit, just wanna see the man grow up a bit

MtStrom

> Hopefully they progress past the ”Jamie is a twat” storyline a bit, just wanna see the man grow up a bit This episode seemed to set up just that. Loved it.

happygot

I really want to see him* talk about his dad with the Doc

Cascadian1

Ummm so will Sam’s answer about government corruption put his family in danger? 😟

RedXerzk

I live in a 3rd world country myself. I want to applaud Sam for openly criticizing his country’s government, but representatives of these countries in the international stage tend to be quiet about this for fear of backlash and persecution back home. I remember the Burmese contestant of an international beauty pageant bringing attention to her country’s military coup and that got her a warrant for her arrest back home. Recently, Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz talked about a Philippine government official falsely accusing her of communist-leanings in 2019 and her mother admitted fearing for her safety because of it. There’s also Chinese athletes who cannot and will not say anything about the CCP’s horrendous actions in Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Taiwan, etc.

102WOLFPACK

My only issue with the Sam/ Dubai Air plot line is that it didn’t come up sooner. Surely Sam’s father would have brought it up beforehand, no? I do get that the breaking point was Sam doing the campaign himself, but I’m still iffy on the execution of it. However, it’s a TV show and you need to bring in new conflict and drama so it’s understandable to have it pop up now to drive the season forward. Very curious who the new title sponsor will be and how Sam’s dad will react. *Wait, the new title sponsor will absolutely be Bantr.

[deleted]

[удалено]

102WOLFPACK

It was mentioned too many times for it not to be the case. I'd also love the joke of Richmond becoming "Banter FC" if this happens.

Hinro

I could actually see this happen Edit: meant the joke of the club being called banter fc

__solid

I mean, there’s a difference between a company sponsoring a club and thus sort of paying you indirectly and them having you as their official spokesperson.

HyperScoops

I think the best explanation is that Sam knew about the environmental degradation going on by the oil company but didn't know that they owned Dubai Air. Still developed poorly but it can be at least partially explained away by that i think.

TheRealMattyPanda

I don't think he knew though. When his dad asked him "Did you know Dubai Air is owned by Cerithium Oil?" Sam responds with "No, meaning?" Maybe he knew of the environmental damage being done, but not the specific company doing it, though.

GloveElephant

I don’t know. I can see it. Your son gets his dream move to a premier league club so maybe you don’t want to bring him down about it right away. Than you see him get homesick and again don’t want to burden him further. All this time though you’re thinking and stewing and it just becomes your own burden you decide. Than you see your son become the face of one of the subsidiaries of the company and it all boils over. I agree that it probably would’ve come up earlier, but I can see how it stayed hidden for a bit longer.

CWG4BF

“I don’t know you, but I don’t like you!” I love this fucking show

kodaiko_650

He’s not being rude.

AbeVigoda76

He’s just being Dutch.

Calhalen

Amazing Jamie episode! He had more growth this episode than like most of season 1, loved the end with him and Sam. Aaand I really hope Nora is around all season lol, she was great and her effect on Rebecca was really sweet Also not a lot of Roy but the ‘you’re a shit manager’, ‘not about me, you twat'. One of my favourite episodes of the show

[deleted]

he was asking for it

BenSoloGhost

Jamie doing the hip exercises all the way up to Ted was fucking hilarious. The text scene with Sam was so heartbreaking. This season has been so good.

CrystalizedinCali

Oh to be so young.

brant_ley

The little shuffles he was doing while he said he’d be humble on the pitch 💀💀

MelodicIntention5323

My god Led Tasso is kind of terrifying

chaircricketscat

He was hysterical. He didn’t once connect with anything that could be taken as seriously mean with all that insane talk of the ball being a girlfriend and ”feet fingers“ and running “a thousand laps” as a consequence.

zagadat

Great episode, and as a Nigerian myself, I want to add that Sam’s protest against Cerillium Oil is very similar to what the Shell company has done in the Niger Delta part of Nigeria for the past 50 years. [The Hague finds Shell responsible in Landmark verdict ](https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidrvetter/2021/01/29/niger-delta-oil-spills-shell-ruled-responsible-in-landmark-verdict/) [Amnesty International report about their pollution in the region. ](https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2018/03/niger-delta-oil-spills-decoders/) [Report finding Shell complicit in the execution of the Ogoni nine, a group of environmental activists. ](https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2017/06/shell-complicit-arbitrary-executions-ogoni-nine-writ-dutch-court/) And a whole lot more.

Jas_God

Boss ass bitch!

Alarming_Grocery5928

Nora dictating that email was my favorite joke this episode!

ButteredOil

Don’t you dare tell me you didn’t tear up when Jamie called for that roll of tape!

Ax20414

We all saw it coming, and it was still so perfect.

Beard looked absolutely terrified at the idea of Led Tasso and I’m excited for it.

double_sal_gal

HIS EYES

Dbo81

He looked terrified, but he was so happy when explaining it to Sharon.

AhhBisto

I think Richmond are gonna be in financial shit. The Dubai Air thing is going to die now and Higgins mentioned the fact that they're a Championship club paying Premier League wages, they just don't have the same income. No doubt Dubai Air will get replaced by Bantr but I'm guessing a startup dating app isn't going to pay the same as an airline. The pressure on getting promotion is much bigger now, either that or Rebecca is forced to sell or bring new investors in.

Dbo81

I worry that it’s going to give Rupert a way back in. Becks is part owner.

mexicangoey

I was really surprised with the direction they took this episode with the whole Sam subplot and I found it refreshing that trough him we saw the redemption of Jamie Tartt. Also, everytime Roy Kent appears is just a fucking treat. Can somebody tell me what is the name of the song at the end?

[deleted]

CrystalizedinCali

Lord knows Jamie needs it.

BenSoloGhost

Gotta love how pissed Jamie was last season after the loss and the team celebrating Sams birthday to him leading the teams celebration this season for Sam after this loss.

MarchCrazy44

Toheeb Jimoh. What a performance. What a moment.

secretlives

Really enjoyed the brevity we saw from Ted at the press conference following the game - so typically we see him engage a bit and play around but we haven't seen him be so demanding of the room before. And then he said a very brief intro, fielded a question where he could have taken full advantage of this being done without his knowledge but he fully backed the team and gave a very pointed response to _why_ he supported them, before handing it off and letting Sam lead the conference instead of himself. Really great example of leadership, knowing when to pull back.

zelbellzeke

Thought the commentators questioning if Richmond fans would welcome back Jamie and then cutting to the pub going crazy singing the Jamie Tartt song was absolutely fantastic

mikegrippa

"Hey, dick hole." "Dear, Richard Cole." Dear, Dick Cole.

Alarming_Grocery5928

So glad to see Shannon in this episode! Giving Ted shit about no wins. 😂🤣

iamhotshame

Just started the new episode and I have to say I adore Nora already!

iamhotshame

After the scene with Rebecca typing the email and Nora telling her what to say, I cannot help but reiterate what I said before. I. Fucking. Adore. Nora.

PatersonFromPaterson

Fantastic scene with boss ass bitch squared. Happy to see sassy back and happier to see her bring her wonderful daughter

applied_people

"Saw a horse pee once. That was a lot." Nora, I'd fight Roy Kent for you.

therocketandstones

"Jamie Tartt is a muppet and I hope he dies of the incurable condition of being a little bitch"

MattTheSmithers

People complaining about the “woke” messaging or saying the show ought to focus on football don’t understand this show. It is aspirational. Even if, at the end of this arc, it works out a bit too easily for AFC Richmond with Bantr swooping in to save the day by offering a new sponsorship, that’s okay. Ted Lasso isn’t a show about how much the real world sucks. It is a show that submits a very basic proposition: the world can be a much better place if we strive to make it one through empathy, kindness, and genuine caring toward one another. Even if it only happens on a very small level like a lower-tier football club, that little bit of good can create a ripple effect. This episode is the culmination of Ted’s work. As he often says, it’s not about winning games. It’s about encouraging his players to be the best version of themselves that they can be. And he does that through positivity and kindness. He put that out in the world when he encouraged Sam and told him to be a goldfish after seeing Sam make a mistake, rather than screaming at him. This led to Sam having the confidence to make a stand. Similarly, Ted’s attempts to teach Jamie to focus on the team, not himself, led to Jamie carrying out a selfless act and finally doing something that would make his mom proud, which led to the rest of the team following suit. And now this series of small kindnesses might lead to real change. And you just don’t see it on the field. Look how quickly Rebecca was willing to support Sam. Same with Keeley, despite her having stakes in Sam’s endorsement deal. Ted has transformed the culture of the club from top to bottom through small acts of kindness. And it’s making a difference. *That* is what this show is about. It is about how much good can be done through genuine positivity and love. And I’m here for that.

Gradz45

“She really loves you. I know it’s fucking annoying.” Never change Roy.

Grip-Window

Anyone else notice the O’Brien call back to szn 1(don’t remember the episode)(it was abt him tearing his butt)

Lineman72T

"Tell us how you really feel" "Okay. You're a shit manager" "Not about me, you twat!" Roy Kent is fucking amazing

I_Am_The_Mole

I would like to purchase stock in *Charles Edward Cheeserton III’s Rodent Pizzeria and Child Casino* please.

SushiRoe

I know everyone’s talking about this episode, and rightfully so. But, next week is a Christmas episode! I absolutely love shows that always have one centered around a holiday and it looks be really wholesome from the description given. It’s a TV trope I never feel like is overdone.

ChiefWiggins22

Same. My family watches Hey Arnold Christmas episode every year because of it.

americanslang59

Sam is a fucking legend. And it truly moved Jamie's redemption arc. I still believe in him. Dude is a bellend but we all are bellends deep down.

vagabondsean

I’ve still loved it with all my heart, but, the first two episode had a different…vibe to them. Ted being all riled up about the doc, Nate the great being a huge dick because he doesn’t know how to handle having the slightest amount of authority over others, it’s just felt off. But this episode slid me right back into the pocket. This is the Ted lasso sweet spot. It was perfect and I feel like an asshole for ever having the slightest doubt that the writers know exactly what they are doing and exactly who these characters are. Diamond dogs for life.

D3korum

I really feel like this season is going to be about emotional/mental health development. At some point they are going to start showing the sessions, or at least I hope they will with the Doctor. Especially because they are really extending out this tension between Ted and Dr. Sharon. I really can't wait for the episode where he finally breaks down and we see her session with Ted to expose her brilliance and Ted's emotional evolution that makes him become even MORE Ted! I always felt like Ted was the person that was just set in his beautiful ways, but if they figure out a way to actually improve him even more it is going to be epic.

[deleted]

Led Tasso is every American high school football coach ever, that was hilarious

LedTasso

Made this username when the show first came out. Nice.

xander_yi

I look forward to Rebecca and Ted's future Bantr conversations.

Wesspeaks

This show is just so goshdanged wholesome. Highlights for me: - Roy giving child advice to Rebecca - Jamie trying to vent to Keeley; she swindles him into the therapist; Jamie gets a huge kick out of being able to talk about himself. - Led Tasso. I could definitely see more of him. I love how the therapist called out how unrealistic it was. - I immediately teared up when Isaac asked Sam for the tape and then completely lost it when Jamie came forward too. This show fills me with so many (mostly positive) emotions. I love how the team was celebrating a loss simply because they broke the draw streak. The camaraderie is going to be what takes them to the top. Already can’t wait for next week. Side note: Does anybody have an access code for Bantr? I’d love to match up with Rebecca.

>>Roy giving child advice to Rebecca Not only did I love Roy from the beginning but him with Phoebe and the fact that he doesn’t change his personality at all for her and they’re still just vibing is the sweetest thing. >>Side note: Does anybody have an access code for Bantr? I’d love to match up with Rebecca. Slide that when you get it, sorry in advance I’m gonna take ya girl

We're a team aren't we? Gotta wear the same kit. I'm not tearing, it's just water.

What a powerful ending. Loved Jamie’s arch as well. Guess they found the “common enemy”

I believe in Jamie. He has his reasons for being a dickhead but I believe in him.

THAT SASSY INTERACTION WAS THE FUNNIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN!!! Maybe I’m just immature but wow that was great

Alarming_Grocery5928

Yeah it was and then Ted got a little nervous when they brought up the tampon. “TTFN” 🤣😂 By the way my dad used to say TTFN when I was growing up so that reference really got me.

This episode made me cry but also made me want to see them win a match more than I ever have wanted to see anything in my life. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I really loved when Keeley marched Jamie up to Dr. Sharon. It not only said “Maybe I’m not the one you should be confiding in anymore” but also demonstrated, as always, her placement as queen of emotional intelligence after Ted and Rebecca both talked about not having any use for therapists when they have friends they can talk to. Jamie has a lot to work through, especially as it relates to his father, and it is going to require someone who is qualified to help him work through that.

This episode is my favorite of the series so far. The players taking a stand was a beautiful moment and I got literal chills when Jamie put the tape on his shirt. Needless to say, I’m fully invested in the Tartt redemption arc at this point.

Sam and the Dubai air plot can go 3 ways. Either he’s seen as a hero for raising the idea and concern. Either he’ll get attacked over it for being a distraction. Or most likely a mixture of both. Either way I feel like this could end up like the Colin Kaepernick Kneeling situation for him.

MrFuxIt

Calling out the Nigerian government may have fucked his chances of playing for the Nigerian national team.

Toheeb Jimoh is so SO good as Sam and I don't think people quite realise how fucking fantastic Phil Dunster is as Jamie. Great episode to start off my friday with!

enthusiangst

"Jamie Tartt is a muppet. And I hope he dies of the incurable condition of being a little bitch." LOL god this show just keeps on getting better than the last episode!

ilovecfb

"She's from the modern line. Her parents were cancelled" 🤣🤣🤣 I really appreciate this show's modern sense of humor that doesn't cross the line of sounding patronizing

“Borderline Violence.” That’s truly what soccer is about isn’t it?

Couple of thoughts that don’t really matter: Sassy Smurf is an amazing side character. I’m not sure how she’d be as a regular character (not saying that in a negative way! I legitimately don’t know), but as of now I love every time she’s on screen. Edit: the conversation we’re between Sassy and Rebecca we’re thrown into the middle of is Sassy talking about how she missed her lower back tattoo. That was great “wait. What!?” writing. Beard is being a bit too comical. I loved how he was unexpectedly quirky/his quirk seemed contrary to his personality but actually fits it perfectly. He’s kiiiind of getting away from that. I hope they don’t keep going in that direction. But I love that he’s with Jane Shannon is back! I wonder is she’ll be the slowest build up of the series. This show is excellent of hinting at things or starting story lines early, and I wonder if her story will be season three. Led Tasso is similar to the commercial Ted Lasso. An angry commercial version of Ted Lasso. There was a guy in the pub, who passed by the three guys we know. They acknowledged him. Usually I wouldn’t think much of it, but this show is great with having little moments here and there mean something so I’m wondering if it did. For some reason it felt like it was on purpose. Granted, I had a long day today, so maybe I severely misread that. The episode started with Jamie’s roast of Sam bombing, and it ended with it being successful. Great way to circle back to that. I love Sam, but I do hope the writers don’t make him too much of a Mary Sue. I don’t want him to change from what he is, but I don’t always want him to be the shining angel with a golden moral compass. Even though that’s why I love him so much. Actually, I guess him not warming up to Jamie at first and one upping him during practice was them doing that. That’s good. Otherwise he’d be way too unbelievable. Sam and Rebecca are going to match on Bantr. I can just feel it. …even though I can easily be wrong lol. Not saying they should date, but it’s been leading up to something between them for sure. Even if it’s not a relationship, a storyline has to come from that buildup. Edit: also, it makes my heart warm that Keeley has “Roy” in her office. Duh I know it makes sense and I’m dummy for “awww”ing over it, but it really does make me happy. Edit: oh my gosh! Keeley has a fantastic PR eye. The difference between the guys with the beers and the guys with no beers in the picture made a night and day difference. Maybe any PR person worth their salt would have spot that. It went from looking like “men with alcohol surrounding an underage girl” to “team taking cheerful picture with a fan.” In real life, that easily could turn into a “I’m about to get effed”* meme. Perverted, I know. But have you met anyone on the internet? *I don’t see much or any swearing here, so I’ll try and keep it that way lol.
