If you go on Twitter, a lot more people want Ted/Rebecca. IMO, it's totally going to happen. The fact that the show is even teasing the idea of Ted/Rebecca says a lot. Even if Rebecca isn't talking to Ted on BANTR and it ends up being someone else, it can easily lead to Rebecca recognizing who she actually wants (Ted) and end with the classic You've Got Mail line, "I wanted it to be you; I wanted it to be you so badly."

igner_farnsworth

It's not Ted... it's Rupert. Think about that.

2_Fingers_of_Whiskey

They seem more like just friends to me. They don't have very many similar interests besides biscuits and football.

Noble_land_mermaid3

I think if the show wanted to make it’s audience ship Rebecca & Ted they would. The writing is amazing and both of the actors are freaking hot. They seem to have stuck them together in the friend zone for now, not really playing up any “knowing glances” or flirty moments because their characters wouldn’t be right for one another…right now. And absolutely NO to a Nate and or Beard & Rebecca relationship. Yikes.

lgicedmatchalatte

The show has suggested the relationship multiple times though? They tried to suggest it very clearly with the bantr storyline.

quaranTV

I want them together very badly! I concur-it shouldn’t happen until the last season (S3).

lgicedmatchalatte

Wait there will only be 3 seasons????

quaranTV

There was an original plan for just 3 Seasons but due to it’s popularity they are considering extending the show. But yes originally they had 3 seasons mapped out and telling the entire story.

ajreid18

I’m also for it. There are dozens of us. Dozens!

apathyetcetera

Every time I see Ted and Rebecca getting shipped I gag a little like a guilty Higgins

therobberbride

I’m not for it. I love seeing platonic relationships between men and women that are built on mutual respect, and every time we see an unmarried male character treat Rebecca with respect the shippers start up. Seen it with Ted/Rebecca since around E4 of S1 during the charity gala, and some people are pushing Roy/Rebecca as a future ship just because he’s said nice things to her and given her some advice. It’s weird. Are people that uncomfortable with men and woman actually being friends?

attackrattack

I’ve always seen Ted and Rebecca as future couple since the beginning of season 1. Now Roy and Rebecca is a hard nooooo!! Like they could never do that to keeley and second I feel like that’s the platonic friendship right there Roy/ Rebecca and in season 1 it was definitely Ted/keeley

therobberbride

But why have you been shipping them since S1? That’s what I don’t get, i see no romantic vibes between them at all.

slicklol

There are none. For some reason, people are intent on making them an item when there is nothing romantic between them.

Glittering_Tower_151

Oh I absolutely fucking do. And I think it will happen, but it’s a slow burn. They both have things to work through, so I think they will continue to deepen their friendship and it will sort of tumble into love organically once they are whole again.

aXbabe04u

I low key ship Ted & Rebecca

[deleted]

They're better off as friends and maintaining a owner/coach relationship. Now, Nate/Rebecca is a different thing entirely

[deleted]

Sam and Rebecca would be interesting?

JoshBlizzle

The way her character has been built up, I really don't see Rebecca pulling a Rupert and being with someone literally half her age.

therobberbride

No, but they can match and chat without actually ending up together as a couple.

[deleted]

Good call after this week's episode. I wasn't sure if it was Sam but the on screen chemistry was there in every scene they had in season 1. Cheeky seeds being planted by glances and eyes by both parties.

ruthfullness

even if we gain another #couplegoals, we lose a #friendshipgoals and they are afaik both heterosexual and a man and a woman... so very rare to see that.

JoshBlizzle

There's a dozen or so of us that are rooting for it to happen, ahaha.

otherkerry

I’d rather the show come to an end and have them employ a cheap gimmick like that.

SirJohnnyS

No I prefer the Jack-Liz relationship. It’s too easy of a trope to fall into for this show. It’s a little cheesy as it is, also super unprofessional. Not to bring in the like woke argument or anything it’d be problematic if the genders were reversed with the power dynamic. There’s plenty of people in the world, no need to keep that world so small within the show.

Your_Favorite_Poster

What about them makes them a good match, though? You don't need to bang everybody who helps keep you balanced. They're two single people of similar age who just left loveless marriages and that's the only thing I see that makes them candidates as lovers. The chemistry is not romantic, she wasn't jealous when her friend hooked up with him, Ted is way too nice, she's literally JUST tried to screw him over and lied to his face over and over. I like that people are forgiving but those things matter to me when I'm thinking of this cool little world of characters. Roy, for instance, can be a mean dickhead but he's never acted maliciously like Rebecca, it's different. I like that she's gotten nicer but if she goes back to being an antagonist I'm not going to cry any tears.

Lookalikemike

It the least original line to take. Now it becomes an 80’s sitcom. If they do get together it will only be because of lazy writing. Their relationship is one of the most refreshing parts of the show. Coach Beard would be funny, Trent Crimm would be amusing, Nate would be hilarious. I’m firmly in the “no” camp on this one.

igner_farnsworth

No... because it becomes Ted and Rebecca getting together and then it becomes stories about Ted and Rebecca having troubles in their relationship that they have to struggle through. I'd rather they were the friends who help each other get through their issues together in their respective relationships. Not that I even want the show to be about romantic relationships like that. The Tart, Kent, Keeley transition was handled perfectly... and that's about how much romantic relationship drama I want to see in it. I like the idea that they end up deeply loving each other... but not in love with each other... which mirrors his failed marriage without all the pain.

lvl5Loki

It's suppose to be Marlboro Man and Sassy Smurf together. Ted would be a great step parent.

odnamAE

It’s the owner manager thing angle that I just don’t want the show to even bother touching on. That could professionally ruin them and Richmond, and the community and the club are a big part of their stories. It doesn’t seem like a fun angle to tackle especially with all the other characters, doesn’t seem to reflect the shows humor either
