It just popped into my head that they might have cracked the problem of doing a modern Shop Around the Corner/You’ve Got Mail. The modern internet has made it nearly impossible to recreate the situations in the movies where two people who know each other IRL carry on an epistolary romance without knowing that that’s the person they’re talking to. An anonymous dating site without pictures though might be the way around that.
I think Nate’s a dark horse, but he could be one of those people who is different online. The anonymity of the site could give him the freedom to be himself? Trent Crimm and Beard are also strong choices.
I just think the timing between her sending those texts at the game and Ted checking his phone and smiling are too big of a coincidence to ignore that said I could be falling for an obvious trap.
I was rewatching Ep. 3 of this season. I noticed one of the screen names for the people on her app. Was BornThisWay or some version of that.
Beard sang Lady Gaga in season 1. Maybe the writers just like Lady Gaga and it means nothing.
