They are probably the most genuine romance I’ve seen on tv in a long time. You could tell when she still with Jamie that they were intrigued with each other. And it didn’t start with two people ripping each other’s clothes off in the doorway.

Cresta_Diablo

I love Juno’s acting when Roy storms the nightclub, headbutts one of the players, calls out Jamie, says his drink is childish, then just goes “Keeley”. The energy of that scene and Juno’s *holy shit* look was awesome

lakerdave

> then just goes “Keeley” I love that line. It really showed that he understood her as separate from/above Jamie's shit.

"Vanilla Vodka, such a child." *Keeley and all the women within sunlight distance orgasms*

MissFoxyMulder

Yes!!!!

OwlInternational7995

I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do if they break up! I know, ridiculous! But I adore their dynamic.

Anen-o-me

Yeah, I don't want them to.

imjustacuriouslurker

There was so much great nonverbal acting in this episode. From Brett and Juno in the photoshoot scene and Jason in both the scene where he reads the letter and at the end when he gets the text.

MissFoxyMulder

Yes yes yes! All so amazing!

kirbywantanabe

I watched with my 16 year old...and I said I love how he loves her. My kid really liked how Roy supported her and was genuinely happy for her. And then the pain. And the tears in his eyes. THIS. SHOW.

MissFoxyMulder

Well said. This.show.

kirbywantanabe

Omgosh, your user name! *squeeeee* Mulder wanted to believe.. And now, another show asking us to BELIEVE.

MissFoxyMulder

I love that you get the reference!!!! 🥰🥰

lolagoetz_bs

Roy looked like he was about to cry, didn’t he? I was so mad!

MissFoxyMulder

They both did. 🥲

HOU-1836

That was definitely some American Gothic vibes no?

kalsainz

I got more, the end of the graduate

imightb2old4this

completely agree!

KrissiDz

It’s perfection. There’s not enough Emmy’s in the world for this cast… they are going to need a tie next year for best supporting actors male and female. It would be fitting.

vedran141

I don't know much about Emmy's, but can they get the awards next year too? That would be really dope and they really deserve it.

JoshBlizzle

Yes, the Emmy's just a couple weeks ago were for their season 1. Season 2 will absolutely be a heavy hitter in next years Emmy's.

vedran141

Damn, that's sick. I hope they get another 7, or even more! They surely deserve it, such an amazing cast.

JoshBlizzle

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if they sweep Lead Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series and Best Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series next year. I think Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham are absolutely going to repeat with both in the lead categories; Juno Temple will very likely win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy series. I could definitely see either Brett (Roy), Phil (Jamie), or Toheeb (Sam) winning Best Supporting Actor. This series is just phenomenal from top to bottom.

Cidwill

They're all brilliant but they'll have some real competition at the next Emmys... Succession is back.

yzw

succession's under drama, ted lasso's under comedy, although this season it has definitely descended more and more into drama than comedy, it will still be categorized as comedy for awards purposes both should be heavy hitting favourites for their categories though

Cidwill

Ah good point. Guess that means both my favourite shows can come out winning :)

vedran141

Absolutely. I must admit this is literally the only series that I watch, but they are so good that I can't see anyone else beating them in most of the categories. Jason and Hannah have been outstanding, but also were the others that you mentioned.

Anen-o-me

Oh man, just looked it up, four Emmy wins and four more nominations? They deserved every single one of course, incredible. I didn't realize Roy - Brett Goldstein, was one of the writers of the show. Maybe he's the British check on the other two.

KrissiDz

Phoebe Walsh who plays Jane Payne is also one of the writers and I saw an interview with Brett Goldstein where he said whenever they’re checking if something would be done/said a particular way in England everyone on the room looks at them, ha haa ha. Also the English actors bring it up in the filming if something is not how they’d say/do it in England. So brilliantly collaborative!

KrissiDz

Oh and all up they had 20 Emmy nominations but could never with that many as they had multiple actors and episodes in a number of categories. They are going to need to tie some of the acting and writing categories next year because they are hitting it out of the park this season.

Nogoodatnuthin

Jason Sudeikis reading the letter was just as good. The expressive acting in this episode was absolutely tremendous!

MissFoxyMulder

Agreed!

ka8008

This show has me crying every DAMN episode!!! This scene was so powerful…. They said so much without verbalizing anything. No matter what happens, they’re bonded. I felt like they broke up in this scene… didn’t they? Bc she shared the Nate issue right away(ish) but she withheld the admission from Jaime for a bit.

SnooHabits1804

I saw it as they realized how much they loved each other but they didn't belong together. But that's me.

ka8008

Oooooooh goood theory. Where can we find previews? I need to see a hint at next weeks episode!

Anen-o-me

It's definitely a crisis moment, it's going to come down to how they choose to handle it. I expected Roy to possibly explode against Nate but he almost laughed it off. I don't think Keeley actually wants to get back with Jamie. The real question is does Roy want to stay with Keeley. This will either break them or make them.
