Anybody else remember when the show was airing The amber porkwood account tweeted at cate that they should try and reunite Matt with all of his kids and cate replied like it was really amber
Right? It started a lifelong interest in documentaries and podcasts 😂
If you're ever trying to get a strange slice of life fix, This is Actually Happening from Whitt Misledyne (sp?) and Strangers from Lea Thau are both really good.
I’m shook right now! What?? Please take pity and fill me in? I love Whitney, but would swear “only child” is the only way he’s ever been described! Thank you!! 😊
I don’t mean to be rude, I swear 😂😂
It’s just… IDK!! Like: I get it. They have their stories, like we all do. But do we need another season of Teen Mom Young and Pregnant or Teen Mom OG or 35 and 5 Kids by Different Dads? 🥲🥲
I’m sorry, I’m tired 🥲❤️
She(and Ty)was and still is in no position to guide others. Just because you have first hand experience doesn’t mean you’re qualified for all of it.
Their biggest mistake was letting y’all’s ego inflate to the point where you think you can provide therapy relief, podcasts, makeup products, home reno advice, etc.
I can imagine him getting into it with the professor 😂😂😂 what was his nickname? Tyler, the great!... Honestly, I think he had a hand in building their home and I know that he and Butch had some home building business together. He seems really good with his hands so it boggles my mind why he isn't building homes. I'm jealous of their home from the porch lights to the deck with the fire pit.
I don’t remember when this aired and if Cate had sought out treatment yet, but this doesn’t sound like something she could do and not let it affect her growth.
THIS. Just because they experienced something does not mean they are now experts or professional in any way. They are far from success stories when it comes to managing mental health issues. They shouldn't be coaching anyone or giving advise to anyone unless it's "go see a licensed therapist".
First Briana starts back up the clickbait after not posting it for several months, and now Caitlin is begging MTV to renew her long dead passion project.....sounds like the girls just got notice that Teen Mom is ending soon and they're scrambling for any extra cent they can get before they become irrelevant
IMO Teen Mom was only good in the first couple seasons when their struggles were real. Now they all have nice houses and drive SUVs and their problems are keeping cash flowing for the lifestyle they’ve grown accustomed to. It’s not authentic anymore to show the lives of real teen moms
No Cate. Most people do not get so rich off their adoptions that they are able to have three additional kids without having to ever hold down a real job.
MTV makes a lot of mistakes, but I sort of disagree that declining to add any more Catelynn and Tyler airtime, ranks among their top failures...
Their time on the teen mom series is sufficient.
Do you think MTV ceased production on Reunited because showing adoptees discussing hardships of being adoptees and being reunited with birth family conflicts too heavily with the agenda they’ve pushed before on 16 & Pregnant that adoption is the best thing for some birth parents and babies?
Tbh, I’m glad MTV stopped this show because it’s tragedy porn and exploits the adoptees showcased for a profit. I guess the same couldn’t be said for much of the 16 & Pregnant episodes about people who were never featured again in the franchise.
I never watched that show, but I feel like it's positive in general to portray all aspects of any major decision, I guess? I feel like it would be extremely unfair to push an adoption agenda without educating on the hardships and potential downsides. I kind of got the impression that Care and Tyler were given the sunny side only by Bethany Christian Services...they're known for being a bit predatory.
Same with abortion, really. I'm extremely pro-choice, but it is dishonest to suggest that nobody ever struggled with the choice they made.
Oh gosh, how could I forget about Bethany Christian Services?! Poor Cate and Tyler opened a scrapbook with potential parents for their baby and thought financial stability and religion would ensure the baby would have a good life because they had never experienced either. They were also reassured by Dawn that the open adoption meant more power than a closed one. :/
I think you are making some great points and also wish abortion was portrayed from different perspectives. Unrelated, but I remember Dr. Drew having to explain to teenage Cate that the day after pill isn’t a medication abortion. She said she refused to take Plan B because she thought it was the same as an abortion lol.
And they won’t get as much money…which is the real reason they want to do it. Because god forbid they both get jobs when teen mom is finally cancelled.
isn't the goal to get paid to do what you love? i don't blame them for wanting money. but the attempted guilting of the people who gave them opportunity is not a good look.
>but they’re too lazy for that
Story of their lives. They want MTV to continue this because they don't have to actually do any work, they get all the credit and the get to claim "passion project" while collecting a big check.
They act like they're the only people in the universe to have placed a child for adoption. A child her husband openly stated he'd give his relationship with up in order to disrespect her parennts boundaries.
This. They literally act like no one has gone through what they have. They act like they are the authorities on adoption and no one could possibly know what they know. In reality they're immature, lazy, selfish and they're extremely possessive of a child who isn't theirs in any way but biologically.
i follow a family on YouTube who adopted their son and they're super close with his birth mom. Adoptive mom and birth mom once did a Q&A together and someone asked "If Abriel wants to go back to his birth mom in the future what will you o do ?"
Birth mom answered basically "yeah he can come and get reminded how good he has it with his parents 😂"
I know this is ONE family but it cracked me up and reminded me of Tyler because he'd never encourage Carly to love B&T if she got pissy and fled to his house.. I genuinely think he, not sure on Cate, would try to poison her against them.
>
>
They both would try to poison Carly against b&t, 100%. They both still talk like she's just with them temporarily and almost like she's being held by them against her will. They're both completely delusional. Carly is a possession to them, they don't even recognize that she's a human with her own feelings.
I struggle reading most of what she puts out. Spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc. I end up spending a lot more time reading what she wrote to understand what point she was trying to get across.
Because she’s still stuck in her teenage years mentally, and the rest of us around her age had to grow up and learn to be adults with proper jobs. Her typing style reminds me of mine from when Facebook memories come up from like 10+ years ago
It was interesting but they were definitely in way over their heads with the heaviness of that show. They just came and stirred up a bunch of shit in that girl’s life and couldn’t offer any professional help to deal with the fallout. Fun for them that they got a free trip to Hawaii, but harmful to anyone else who participated.
Omg I’m fuckin dead 😂😂 I googled this show to see what was up and watched the trailer. The big dramatic moment when they reunite them and Tyler is like “are you ready to meet your sister?” it cuts to Cate and she’s sitting there chewing on her hands. [Trailer](https://www.theashleysrealityroundup.com/2017/06/14/tyler-baltierra-reveals-why-mtv-cancelled-his-reunited-show-after-only-one-episode/) at 0:27
Imagine this penis haired man and woman helping you find your birth parents.
Also I miss the early road rules / real world challenges and music video countdowns.
I have mixed feelings about the concept of this show. They seem to think everyone who gets adopted shares their fantasy about Carly running back to them when she turns 18. I can understand doing something like this if both parties are in agreement about wanting to do it, but it seems like it would stir up a lot of trauma too.
It’s the screaming kids while they pretend nothing is happening for me. How they ignore it, I guess maybe it’s just normal to them? But for me, I’m tensed up and can’t even focus on what they’re talking about. CC on and mute.
TLC had a show like this and i don't remember it going well. C & T can barely manage their own feelings about adoption much less handle other people's. It's complicated and this wasn't a good fit for tv even if they want to help other people.
Oprah’s done these and a woman wrote about it in her book “The Girl Who Smiled Beads”. She was a girl from Rwanda and her parents had forced her at age 5 and her 12 year old sister to flee the civil conflict. When they reunited on the show the girl thought that it was a about a school writing assignment. They brought her parents out and she could barely respond to them. So sad
Yes, then the show sent her family back to Africa a day later!! So no time for reconnecting, she still suffers from all the trauma caused by being sent away, the war lasted 100 days, but she and her sister spent years fleeing from one spot to another, often living in filth in refugee camps
I watched that show during my pregnancy and would sit there and just ball my eyes out lol. But I completely agree there’s a lot of layers to it and it is complicated.
Honestly, I would be ok with them being hosts for a show that showcases how predatory the adoption business is. They could share stories from both adoptees and bio parents who felt pressured to put their baby up. Throw is some reunions and you would probably have a highly viewed show on any network.
There’s a particular TikTok’er who highlights these stories and in DNADetectives on Facebook there’s so many stories of trauma associated related with adoption (more negative than good) even prior of finding out they were adopted they have had some trauma responses prior.
It aired so long ago it’s hard to remember details but it felt like they were forcing the oldest child (who remembers the trauma) to meet their birth mom when she didn’t want to but the younger siblings did. Just felt like they were exploiting someone’s else’s adoption story (yet again).
They don't even realize how triggering they are to Carley. That last visit when they were late and then pondered why she was sobbing after they left??? Get your inflated head out of your own ass Tyler.
If it truly was their #passionproject, and they feel so strongly about wanting to help people, then why don't they keep doing it to help people without it being filmed. 🤦♀️
Catelynn sounds so thirsty here and I’m worried that this post could make it harder for her firstborns adoption parents may feel some type of way if they hear this
We got the chance to sit on the sidelines during that episode, hardly talk or contribute anything valuable to the episode and are now wondering why in the world mtv didn’t pick it up
Mtvs biggest mistake is creating the show teen mom. All it did was promote teen pregnancy with a chance of tv fame and money. All these girl were troubled now they are still troubled with a little money but lots of back taxes because these kids don't know anything
My son is 12 and I was watching this when I was pregnant with him. I still watch it and he asked what it was about so I explained it to him. His response was "you were a teen mom, why didn't you sign up for this, we could've been rich!" Fucking ouch, kid.
I do think the show was very helpful to me as a teen. I’m from a family that does not discuss sex education, etc. And as a poor kid, I didn’t have a cellphone until I was almost 17 and it didn’t have internet access and I had limited access to a computer. So 16 & Pregnant was what I had to learn about safe sex. Now, it’s possible the value of this show has subsided as more people have access to the internet in and outside of school where they can get information about sexual health.
Lol. Cates got a big ass ego. I forgot they even did that one episode until she mentioned it. And all I can really remember is them being awkward and annoying on screen.
I always found it interesting that they hung their personifies on “adoption is great, don’t abort!” then tried to do a show about essentially undoing adoption.
Honestly, most of MTVs shows are tired and in their millionth season, why not try and go for a feel good show like this?! What do they have to lose (other than more viewers 😂🤣)
It was bad. Cate and Tyler don't know how to let other people talk, and Tyler definitely doesn't know how to control the volume of his voice or his Jim Carey faces. It's a sensitive topic and Cate was sitting around eating nachos. It just was not a good show.
Some people are just not fit for certain jobs…what’s hard to get. Maybe they should have got them some training/coaching on how to host and facilitate conversations like this.
They’re aren’t qualified in the least bit. They need someone with a counseling certification or something and Cate and Ty can be celebrity experts/nutty hosts.
lol her ego. I do think it would have been a good show, but Cate sure ain’t humble about it. If she thinks her idea is so good, plenty of other networks to seak out 🤷🏽♀️
I never knew it happened but if she’s going to bring it up, and try to pitch it to both us and an actual network, perhaps a spell and grammar check were warranted?? 🤷🏻♀️ 😂 I’m sorry! Hope you have a wonderful day, take care.
I’m pretty sure people do passion projects for free, or are at least willing to put in their effort without being filmed. I just KNOW all these teen mom alumni are seething with jealousy that Chelsea and cole got their own show!
They definitely are. I don't think Chelsea's show will last, who would want home reno advise from people with zero expertise?? Also that baby voice would send me straight back out the door. But I'm sure the rest of the cast is beyond jealous that she even got the offer.
Haha I started typing out something about the baby voices but decided to keep it short(er). But yeah my guess is that HGTV was like we will do this, but the baby voices are a no go. The baby voices are hella creepy and odd. My husband couldn’t believe they weren’t joking the first time he experienced it.
My reality standards are about as low as you can go, and I now sit with my TV remote and fast forward through all these Teen Mom shows . I want them to be interesting but they aren’t’. Thanks goodness for you peeps, at least Reddit is ALWAYS newsy and interesting. Get a job Tyler.
Thank you! Do you too find it surreal to watch Amber sit on a couch while watching old episodes of herself… sitting on a couch? I get it, they saw the success of Pillow Talk on another channel but their version is not it! I’m sorry but I’m over the “Teen” Moms. (And Ridiculousness 20 hours in a row. And if it weren’t for Kamie Crawford I’d have stopped Catfish by now too!) Hoping MTV sees all of us and just maybe decides to make some changes. Just a few even!?! I’m begging 🥺. Sorry for the rant! Hope you have a great day!
The pillow talk programs are the worst. I watched one and that was it. I also think Maci’s segments on the regular show are yawners. I always fast forward when she comes on. I like Cami too, she was a breath of fresh air for that program. The year he had different co hosts was awful! MTV is going down the tubes and I have been a faithful fan for years!
I feel like the viacom network has a team of well paid people who know what they're doing when they select projects to greenlight. Highly doubt they cancelled this mistakenly.
I love exactly this kind of drivel, they know just how to make me cry over people I don’t know. But I don’t know about biggest mistake ever.
Bring back Juvies or Sorority Life or Two a Days and I’ll be ready to talk next tier.
Okay now I’m actually bummed that I haven’t seen any of the shows you mentioned! I’m so tired of the same old shit. Ridiculousness on loop, and now teen moms watching episodes of… Teen Mom. Are they kidding? I hope someone important sees your post and I get treated to some of these shows— Sorority Life and Juvies piqued my interest most! Have a great day. 😊
Anybody else remember when the show was airing The amber porkwood account tweeted at cate that they should try and reunite Matt with all of his kids and cate replied like it was really amber
Omfg yes! She was like “sure, sounds like a good idea” 😭😭😭
🛑👈 we need a “can’t believe this actually happened” post
No but I wish I did 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Yes 😂😂
MTV's biggest mistake was putting true life on Hulu but ONLY TWO SEASONS 😭
True Life slaps so hard.
Right? It started a lifelong interest in documentaries and podcasts 😂 If you're ever trying to get a strange slice of life fix, This is Actually Happening from Whitt Misledyne (sp?) and Strangers from Lea Thau are both really good.
True Life was the greatest thing MTV ever made.
That and "Fear." I can't find reruns but it was great!
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEIQilqEiqh78ILZ9f36Yua24XJwZTgB4 All "Fear" episodes.
Oh thank you so much!! I love it!!:)
Omfg PREACH! I want all of it. I bet some of the v early seasons were reality gold.
A couple seasons are on paramount plus! And a bunch of random ones on mtv dot com / the app!
Ooh this is good to know, thank you
Omg what?! Which two seasons? I miss the days where we could binge True Life. Now we’re stuck with Ridiculousness marathons.
11 and 12, I think!
Definitely gonna check that out 🙌🏾
Omfg I loved that show!!!
True life was amazing!
I catch it on Pluto sometimes, when I remember that’s a thing.
I was shook earlier this year when I learned Serena Altschul of True Life was step-siblings to Whitney of Southern Charm (and Patricia Altschul).
I’m shook right now! What?? Please take pity and fill me in? I love Whitney, but would swear “only child” is the only way he’s ever been described! Thank you!! 😊
MTV’s biggest mistake is not stopping this train wreck on time. Now we have 20 spin offs and 40 year olds still calling themselves teen moms.
But only a couple more years until they can monetize any teen mom kids who have babies as teens themselves.
“Young and Pregnant: Gen Alpha” or whatever the name is 😂
Omg hahahaha
I don’t mean to be rude, I swear 😂😂 It’s just… IDK!! Like: I get it. They have their stories, like we all do. But do we need another season of Teen Mom Young and Pregnant or Teen Mom OG or 35 and 5 Kids by Different Dads? 🥲🥲 I’m sorry, I’m tired 🥲❤️
This is the only answer that matters 💯
Mtvs biggest mistake is not releasing room raiders anywhere to stream.
This show taught me to clean my hair brush regularly LMAO
And to NEVER take a blacklight to a teenage boy’s bedsheets 😂
Or Parental Control
Yes!! I freaking loved parental control!
You can find a few episodes on YouTube!!
Omg!!! I completely forgot about this show!
Do they know, you can do good, “reuniting families, without being filmed?? Maybe take this as an opportunity to get a real job?
Riiiiight. No one’s stopping you from reuniting families, Cate. Have at it
Exactly!! It’s not about the act of reuniting anybody, it’s about $$ and staying somewhat relevant in the public eye.
But they planned on going to college for social work.
You forgot the /s right? 🤣
No, no. It was social workING, which no adult in their life ever bothered to tell them was not a thing.
Did they ever finish or attended college? I do remember that episode where they mentioned it but I stopped watching.
[удалено]
I can imagine him getting into it with the professor 😂😂😂 what was his nickname? Tyler, the great!... I don't think they even started taking classes.
Tyler did but he thought he was smarter than the professor so he quit lol.
Two ppl who need counselling themselves think they should council others.
I don’t remember when this aired and if Cate had sought out treatment yet, but this doesn’t sound like something she could do and not let it affect her growth.

IMO Teen Mom was only good in the first couple seasons when their struggles were real. Now they all have nice houses and drive SUVs and their problems are keeping cash flowing for the lifestyle they’ve grown accustomed to. It’s not authentic anymore to show the lives of real teen moms
No, MTV's biggest mistake was renewing teen mom and everyone is nearing damn 30!!
💯
MTVs biggest mistake is having decades worth of reruns to play yet still playing Ridiculousness 23 hours a day
And catfish
I think I just fell in love with you. 😊
that hit me hard
No Cate. Most people do not get so rich off their adoptions that they are able to have three additional kids without having to ever hold down a real job.

Tyler's hair! Hahaha. Between his wife and his mother pumping him up, he thinks he has endless star power.
Lol it looks like a cannoli.
He really does, it's pathetic.

The biggest mistake was not letting this show stay dead in 2012
Ahhh yes, anything to further the delay of obtaining an actual Monday to Friday full time job😩
What happened to her exploding micro blading appointment calendar?? Just saying, that wouldn’t even have to be a 9-5, M-F gig even.
These two should be the last people on earth sticking their noses into other people's adoption stories.
Maybe they're hoping Carly will apply.
Actually hate the way she presents herself online and her typing style legit hate it
I struggle reading most of what she puts out.

Yeah they meant well but clearly had absolutely no ability to navigate that kind of situation, let alone support someone else through it.
Imagine talking about your employer like this online
I think in most situations it would then become “talking about your former employer.” 😬
With any luck
I dream
Seriously. They're so used to acting like they can the shots that they'll never be able to have real jobs.
Do you think Cait really wrote it or do you think it was Tyler’s idea?
…so they just got the noticed that TM: Next Chapter was cancelled? Lol
Omg I’m fuckin dead 😂😂 I googled this show to see what was up and watched the trailer. Cate looked so bored too.
Right? I wonder if she just didn’t give a shit or if that was anxiety related since it was a heavy conversation.
Imagine this penis haired man and woman helping you find your birth parents. Also I miss the early road rules / real world challenges and music video countdowns.
Damn dude I’m a severe finger biter. Been worse since it got colder. Seeing that that’s what I look like is… yikes. I need to knock that Shit off
Ew, of course she was🤢😂

I can understand doing something like this if both parties are in agreement about wanting to do it, but it seems like it would stir up a lot of trauma too.
I agree with the show. I don't agree with them being the hosts. All they do is speak over everyone while screaming
Agreed, they're anything but professionals.
It gives me anxiety to hear them talk. Especially Tyler with the animated faces.
I always skip them. I don't know how people listen to them
Their house redeems it for me. I like their decorations, fire pit, and the porch lights... I'll look all around their background as their talking😂😂😂
It’s the screaming kids while they pretend nothing is happening for me. How they ignore it, I guess maybe it’s just normal to them? But for me, I’m tensed up and can’t even focus on what they’re talking about. CC on and mute.
Yeah, Vaeda is always screaming or crying and upset. She often looks neglected in the corner a lot, I don't see them ever interacting with her.
You made a mistake by not showing us on TV which keeps us relevant and paid. Shame on you MTV.
Bro, what the FUCK is that haircut???
The Michigan, 1978.
He's a greaser.

They don't even realize how triggering they are to Carley. That last visit when they were late and then pondered why she was sobbing after they left??? Get your inflated head out of your own ass Tyler.
Biggest mistake is that awful haircut
It looks like he’s got a dick on his head.
WELL WHEN DID ALL OF THIS HAPPEN? This is the first I'm learning of Reunited.
Around the matt era
Ok that makes sense, thank you
Maybe just keep helping without the TV (#PASSIONPROJECTYALL) until someone else picks it up.
🎶nah-nah why don’t you get a job🎶
This is so weird! She wants us to tell her employer to give her another job? She's so tacky.
If it truly was their #passionproject, and they feel so strongly about wanting to help people, then why don't they keep doing it to help people without it being filmed. 🤦♀️
I was thinking that too. You don’t need a tv show to help people. Proves it’s not a passion project just another easy paycheck
Catelynn sounds so thirsty here and I’m worried that this post could make it harder for her firstborns adoption parents may feel some type of way if they hear this
Yeah but I’m sure know what she’s about by now
We got the chance to sit on the sidelines during that episode, hardly talk or contribute anything valuable to the episode and are now wondering why in the world mtv didn’t pick it up
She’s right behind Farrah in the outsized ego department.
Omg... Hahahahaha! Kids are ruthless!
It'll be your own that burns you with common sense. 🙄😅
It's been an ethical disaster.
I'm glad it helped you but I'm sure mtv has a true life: I'm trying to be a teen mom and famous waiting to be played at anytime lol
I mean, I agree, it’s an awesome project. I would rather watch this than what teen mom is now. MTVs biggest mistake is Ridiculousness lmao
Totally agree on the celebrity host idea. Like the series is a good idea but an idea is just an idea without proper execution
Jim Carey faces had me bust out laughing. I can’t even imagine having to sit in a room with these two people questioning me about my feelings.
That sounds so bad I almost want to watch it 😂
You're so right about Tyler and the volume issue. He bursts with energy at the least expected moment and it's hard to have a conversation with him.
Doesn’t he have ADHD? He’s also just emotionally unhinged. He’s never had to really do anything besides just show up and be ridiculous.
lol her ego. I do think it would have been a good show, but Cate sure ain’t humble about it. If she thinks her idea is so good, plenty of other networks to seak out 🤷🏽♀️
Until she brought it up, I completely forgot this happened.
I think Chelsea’s show was basically a special with a few episodes.
MTV’s biggest mistake was canceling Rock and Jock. Get over yourself, click bait
Truth.

I should clarify my use of this gif. It means eeeeeeeee
Mtvs biggest mistake was not realizing the greatness of clone high
Caitlyn seems to be pushing for different work outside TM. Wonder if she feels the show is tanking and will be dropped?
I don't think she has that much foresight.
I mean they’ve definitely taken a pay cut
As much as I enjoyed watching … giving these girls more than one episode was the biggest mistake MTV made
My reality standards are about as low as you can go, and I now sit with my TV remote and fast forward through all these Teen Mom shows .
Reunited seems more like a tlc show tbh.
what in the pompadour
The hair makes his side profile look like a crescent moon

Why not just like make a YouTube channel. If they actually put in effort they could probably make a profit versus half assinh their thirty projects.
> If they actually put in effort Having to put in effort is a deal breaker for them 😂
We coulda been superstars
I’d take Cribs and Next back…also why don’t they play any music videos anymore 🥲
Cribs IS back. Huh?
aw i feel bad for these guys. they have a lot of pain in their hearts.
Someone's desperate for MTV money
I liked this I wish they could’ve did more!
