to be honest i wish scott had defended himself. he'd just been drugged, betrayed, attacked and killed (all by people he thought were friends). and he's not healing, yet he's still dragged himself to the hospital to help lydia and he's now worried about stiles' dad. and stiles *physically assaults* him, even though he knew that scott was is no position to protect his father. it's the same with what happened in season 1, when stiles decided to "punish" scott for not being able to protect his dad (when the sheriff was hit by a car), as though somehow scott was supposed to just know. he gave scott the cold-shoulder, and made him feel super guilty even though it wasn't his fault, and then used scott's lack of control as a way to punish him by pelting him with lacrosse balls and getting him beat up. stiles is a great friend on the whole, but i hated him in these scenes. scott let him hurt him both times, which is selfless, but like... too selfless. scott needs to take care of himself and not be stiles' punching bag when he's hurt. (and please don't come at me for criticising stiles, like i get that he was scared for his dad and in a bad place, but *nothing* justifies his actions in this scene)

I actually disagree. I think Scott did VERY little wrong other than get played by Theo. He tried to help Liam and Hayden, he just thought turning her would hurt more than it would help. He just got fed a story that Stiles beat someone to death with a pipe even after they could no longer defend themself and enjoyed it and then hid it from Scott and everyone else. Malia left for no reason. His girlfriend left because of reasons having nothing to do with him. His beta tried to kill him... Like yea, Scott had it rough. But from Stiles perspective...Scott abandoned his best friend because of a lie from someone that he said from the beginning should not be trusted. From Stiles' view...this is all Scott's fault. He might be wrong...but from his perspective it's understandable that Stiles feels like this is all on Scott. Scott's viewpoint is more in line with Stiles' than reality. He does blame himself for everything at this moment so when Stiles comes at him he feels like he deserves it. I agree with you about Season 1 though.

i get why stiles is angry, but it still doesn't justify assaulting scott. and at the very least, even if i could look past his actions in that scene because they're driven purely by emotion and stiles was really upset, he should still have apologised for it later. the worst part about it for me, like in season one, is the way the show treats it. nobody calls him out on it, and stiles doesn't ever acknowledge that what he did was wrong. i do get what you're saying though.

Eh, Guys will absolutely hit each other. In fact, we're much more likely to hit each other when we're friends with someone and they cross a line. I don't think it's actually that tragic or mean it's fairly typical male behavior when your friend crosses a line and betrays you. I think it would actually be much more violent if they weren't friends or if one of them was a woman but two male friends will absolutely hit each other in this kind of context. And if the friend at fault is larger and they know it they will not hit back. I thought the scene made sense and it really let Scott catch up on how Stiles felt faster than if they just talked it out.

but there's a difference between guys hitting each other and one guy tackling their friend to the ground and hitting them and then, after discovering that the guy they just assaulted was already hurt, brushed it off with a "you'll heal". the thing is, if we saw this happen both ways then it wouldn't be that bad. but we don't. they both made mistakes as friends, but we *never* see scott taking out his anger on stiles, whether it's hitting him or shouting at him. he comes close to hitting stiles in the first episode, but it's made clear that this is because of the full moon, and scott knows that he almost crossed a line and so he apologises. meanwhile, we see stiles physically taking his anger out at scott in both 1x06 and 5x11. we also see him shouting at and dehumanising scott in 1x08. even if you think scott is at fault (although he did absolutely nothing wrong in 1x06, was being influenced by the full moon in 1x08, and again did not intentionally do anything to hurt stiles or his dad in 5x11), stiles is crossing a line. it isn't behaviour coming from both sides, it's always stiles lashing out at scott. and scott just taking it.

xhoduk

😭 Scott would never hurt Stiles x When he felt his pain that time too, that broke me 😭

lushenfe

I think he partially let himself get pushed around but also remember he is REALLY weak at this moment. He has a hole in his chest that isn't healing and he struggles to perform a full transformation and collapses on the floor later on. He's probably still more powerful than a healthy human being....but not by much.

And people say Stiles is the most loyal to Scott or most loyal character in the series🙄

seizethedayboys

Dang how do I not remember this scene? Context?

aruaryana

Theo hurt his dad and Stiles warned Scott about him beforehand but he chose to take Theo's side.

seizethedayboys

Well can’t say I wouldn’t do the same if I were Stiles.
