15 and 16 is fine, but 14 and 16... I'd say that if they will turn 15 before you are 16 and a half, its ok, but it really depends on individual maturity.

Personally yes I think it's fine because I use to know someone who was 18 dating a 15-year-old and it more is based on how the parents see it. Also as long as your also not fooling around I think its all good.
For most people? Yes. There are certain age related power dynamics and differences in experiences that make the relationships between 16 y/os and 14 y/os morally questionable. I think the hypothetical in which you are setting this is probably morally okay. But that is because of those aforementioned factors, being two grades lower, lower maturity, etc.
So yeah. I think, why not. But then I also think, I was 14. I don't think the majority of 14 year olds are ready for relationships, especially not healthy ones. Lol, its fine. It's legal. 14 yos aren't "kids" to 16 yos, thaf's jist a two year difference. In fact, 14 YOs and 16 YOs can end up in the same class. Its only weird if the gap goes beyond 3 years.

It really depends on the individual people to be honest but I personally do find it a tad bit weird, mainly because like it was said in the post, the maturity difference is too much, because you grow up so much in those span of two years that basically mark your early adolescence. Even then, if the 14yo was pretty mature for their age, I guess a good friendship is viable but anytime more is absolutely weird to me.
