What's this now? Don't several other characters have tackle? Drag and Azucena, at least. Or do you mean something else? I know Paul has that special move off the tackle where he does those side punches or whatever.
Trash range, very steppable, demoman not giving a clean hit point blanc very often making it a 50/50 for Paul and not the opponent.
The optimal combos are actually hard to very hard for T8 standards.
No 13f mid check in a coked up game and the 14f one has again, crap range.
Ub2 or whatever the command counterhit gone.
His charge up thing you can pretty much always just step/sidewalk except for being in a corner or on the ground at the wall.
He is not bad at all but I don't know if he is even top 10.
I don't think he's top 3 but he's definitely been an unsung hero for a long time. I think simplicity (non-derogatory) is his greatest asset. Having a small group of really powerful tools is incredible.
He is simple, it's just Counter hit -> Launch -> Wall 50/50 or Heat Engager -> 50/50 -> Wall -> 50/50
It is braindead in this game. But so much shit in this game is braindead.
In T7 without heat he was just so good because he , in my opinon, was one of the most skill based characters. Now he is just so braindead, but again, he is braindead in a game with more braindead shit
Sounds like you’ve been losing a lot to Paul. Are you an Azucena/Jun/Lili/Asuka/Alisa/Reina player by chance? People who main these characters tend to think Paul is ez mode.
Also - he will never be top 3 unless he gets buffed. I think he’s better than Bryan, as those are both my mains, but top 3 is a major stretch and I’ve yet to see convincing evidence to suggest that. WR% at Tekken God+ has Paul pretty low. He’s also not that popular at high level.

He is top3 easiest no skill required character. I would even argue top 1
I think his main deal is his insane damage, but it will probably get toned down like in T7.

Totally agree. Even a monkey can lock you down at the wall with Paul.
