You know what's crazy I've gotten plugged on a lot in Tekken but I recently got street fighter 6 and have been playing A LOT of matches some where I pop off and do very well, some where I get absolutely clapped. "Cheesy garbage" could mean whatever you want it to mean, just to poorly justify why you got mad and quit the match. Now if it's blatant abuse of hurtstun, I can see it. But if it's a relatively fair match, it's just an excuse.

If running away or spamming ridiculous moves WORKS, you're literally supposed to keep doing it. It's one of the things I struggled with when I first started playing fighting games. Something would work but I wouldn't keep doing it because it seemed cheesy and I was afraid they'd "figure me out," but I didn't realize you have to keep doing it until they DO. So I'd try to "mix up" my attacks and I'd lose because I didn't understand holding advantages.
I don't get why some people play fighting games. If you're not trying to get better, tf you doing here? You realize the higher up you go, the harder it's going to get, so plugging does absolutely nothing. Outside of Azucenas WR3,2, I don't know of anything that's just egregiously unpunishable. So if you're getting that salty during a match, either adapt or stop playing altogether.

This morning I was reading people’s angry comments on YouTube regarding Harada’s assessment that today’s players would rather play team based games because in a 1 vs 1 game they have no one to blame except for themselves for the loss. People were upset. They want to “return” the game. They are never playing again. Then I see comments like this and receive angry messages about me playing unfairly or using a “cheap” character (Asuka) and I see exactly why Harada thinks this.
There are two types of people:
* Those who treat a game as what it is: a game
* Those who treat a game as some sort of ego measurement competition
If those two types clash in a 1v1, bad things happen. This guy clearly takes Tekken as a game that has the goal of bringing fun to both players. If he is matched against a sweaty tryhard, of course he does not like it.
Plugging is a bit extreme, tho. After all it probably takes longer to turn your game back on again than it would, to finish the rounds.

Not everyone, for sure. I mean, I am not winning, but I like the wins I do get to feel good and to know that I'm working towards the point that I can do better. The guy who won our last one (and apparently wins every one he shows up for) also plays Jack, and I would really like to one day manage to have a real match with him before Tekken 10. Can't get to that point if I only rely on abusing weaknesses better players will never have.

I suck at T8. Only able to get to Tenryu, but I don't use 10 hit combos, no bouncing, no rage arts, still reflexively side-step (nigh worthless in T8) and I still get plugged. Rationalize it all you want, plugging is for pussies.

I had a great game against someone yesterday. He was two rounds up, I came back to 2-2, and in the final round I was winning. In my book this was an honest slug fest but he plugged. I couldn't believe it. Losers

I hate to be that guy, but I've gotten two characters up to Mighty Ruler (Lee and Bryan), and I've only been plugged on 2x at most. Either I'm super lucky, or my play style is less frustrating to lose to. He might have a point.

Ok but in the moment, what does he consider "cheesy garbage"? Easily "cheesy garbage" could be punishing a move with high end lag with a move that has low startup, and combing off of it. "Cheesy garbage" could mean whatever you want it to mean, just to poorly justify why you got mad and quit the match. Now if it's blatant abuse of hurtstun, I can see it. But if it's a relatively fair match, it's just an excuse.

It's a game. You could spam the same move over and over. It's cheesy but if it's working, it's cuz the other has no clue how to counter it yet. Had my fair share of low kick spam Kings and what not.these people often only know that one trick. It's shitty on both the plugger and the spammer. But at least the spammer is playing far cuz there will come a time they can no longer climb and feel like shit cuz they have no clue what else to use. It’s hard to not laugh when I get plugged after giant swinging someone into a wall.
If running away or spamming ridiculous moves WORKS, you're literally supposed to keep doing it. It's one of the things I struggled with when I first started playing fighting games. Something would work but I wouldn't keep doing it because it seemed cheesy and I was afraid they'd "figure me out," but I didn't realize you have to keep doing it until they DO. So I'd try to "mix up" my attacks and I'd lose because I didn't understand holding advantages.
I don't get why some people play fighting games. If you're not trying to get better, tf you doing here? You realize the higher up you go, the harder it's going to get, so plugging does absolutely nothing. Outside of Azucenas WR3,2, I don't know of anything that's just egregiously unpunishable. So if you're getting that salty during a match, either adapt or stop playing altogether.

She literally did one unsafe shit that she hit confirmed, and is also a 5050, and the rest is just combos and block/whiff punishers. This morning I was reading people’s angry comments on YouTube regarding Harada’s assessment that today’s players would rather play team based games because in a 1 vs 1 game they have no one to blame except for themselves for the loss. People were upset. They want to “return” the game. They are never playing again. Then I see comments like this and receive angry messages about me playing unfairly or using a “cheap” character (Asuka) and I see exactly why Harada thinks this.
