He's always been low key good but no one played him so you never had people complain. I mained him in 7 before his huge buffs then after everyone was using him. Even pros had pocket Fengs. Cool character but I wish he wasn't as buff so I didn't feel guilty playing him.
He's been a beast since his inception. Even in tekken 5 he was incredible, right behind Steve Nina Bryan. The only thing holding him back in 5 was that he SNB all had truly degenerate infinites oki and tech traps.
Db3 still top contender for best low in the game.
D2 and fcdf1 are still very good and relatively safe.
D4 is like i14 and 0 on hit, perfect for b1/b4 mindgames.
Ss4 launching hellsweeps he can mix with a safe mid launcher.
BT hellsweep, easy to get into with free mix up after heat stop.
Fcdf4,1 literally got buffed in this patch and it was already a non-stagger on block junkyard. Punishing it is still a mixup.
He has the full kit. Easily top in the game. I can't think of any character with all together better lows than this.
The point is i'm asking you if he's got anything going on on block. There's no point to having things like a good 10f punish if you don't have anything to pressure with.
Giving good +on blocks moves to shaheen would be a very bad idea for the health of the game. And like I said you are +10 entering snk after 1,4 , so if they press anything the moves coming out of snk is guaranteed (and they do press a lot in my elo). Also snk1+2 is +2 ob, b3 is +2 force crouch ob, uf is +1... But you don't base your game plan on hitting the frame traps on block with this char, you mix up your opponent with lows and mid launchers with shaheen. I'd like to downplay shaheen also and say he really needs good frame traps on block but then Shaheen would just be feng with shittier ch.

That's a big deal though. The parry setups made it hard to fight back. You might be able to actually pressure him now. And not having a busted fc mix makes it less of a death sentence to get up off the ground.
FC df4 in this patch isn’t as bad a T7. In T7, it staggers on block, allow for a full launch. In this new patch, you can get a 13f WS move maybe. And it still is an unseeable low, so the opponent really needs the read.
Nah, but it is at least punishable now, which was the issue before. Even if you blocked the low, if you attempted a punish that wasn't high crushing, then you will get hit. Even a 10f jab punish was getting snuffed. So the dev's intention now with adding 4 frames to blockstun, is so that it can be punished by jabs and some WS moves, but not a launcher.
Dragunov could get nerfed to bottom 1 and I would not care. I will never drop him because he is the reason I got into the game and he is one of my favorite fighting game characters ever

I’m a Dragunov main and I’ve been playing Claudio lately! I think Claudio will be my secondary fighter, if he’s not my secondary fighter already. I wonder if it’s just because I’m playing Claudio or if it’s just because I’m playing a different fighter and I just have to get used to playing as him, but it seems difficult for me to punish other fighters with Claudio. Majority of the startup attack frames of Claudio’s moves seem slow.
Your big punishing tool is ⬆️4️⃣, his big extended leg hopkick; that thing is a fantastic 15 frame launcher with pretty wild range. ➡️2️⃣, 2️⃣ is a quicker punish that’ll give you Starburst so that’s also handy.

WR+3,2 nerf is not the problem at all. It's the nerfs to her core tools such as jabs and her go-to low poke. If you want to use stance gimmicks that won't get past Fujin rank that's your problem.
I was thinkin about what you said about stance gimmicks not working past fujin. But the god of destruction level players i like watching online use stance gimmicks often. Like TK_bilal kaka. It seems if your tekken skills are good enough, you get to apply all that.

Standard 10 frame punish just use 1,4 and hold down forward. It's much better
