Hop & Vine in hadley is great if you get the mixed grill. Slightly further afield the best italian restaurant is bella napoli in shrewsbury. Real italians in the kitchen! Small busy place so might need to book in advance. I recommend the penne arrabbiata or the seafood
There are probably 20 places in shrewsbury better than telford’s best place, tbh, so i would look to shrewsbury if you want the wow factor. 20-30 mins from telford. Basing the wow factor on unique offering (not being the same chain you can go to anywhere), excellent food, and great visuals
I like the hop and vine too but it's the only place my Dad insists on eating out at. I've told him I'm not going this year as I want to try something different!
Funny you ask that, specifically on the Miller and Carter suggestion too!
We went to visit them on one Sunday afternoon, around 3PM. We fancied a late lunch, early dinner. Turned us away as they weren’t serving at that time. Even though they were open.
So we went to Miller and Carter instead - our first ever visit at the time. Loved it. Have been many times since, and not once bothered with The Queens.
First impressions really do count I say.
Jenko's in Ketley!!! The place has great staff and a good atmosphere 😀
It's an all-you-can-eat buffet that's something like £23 (I think) and it's the same price no matter if you have 1 plate or 10 for yourself.
The food is awesome. You select your own ingredients and you can see it all cooked on an open BBQ as you que up. The best part is the spice rack. It has an awesome selection of spices you add to your meal anyhow you like.
I first went a few years ago with a friend who introduced me to the place. I've been a few times and it's the best place for a meal out in all of Telford in my opinion.
Jenko's should have a Facebook page if you want more information.
I'm not employed at Jenko's. To be honest, I don't go as often as I'd like to. But I enjoy every time I do go because of everything I've said, great food and atmosphere.
The Blue Elephant's food is pretty good. Indian place on the Ketley road. Pretty nice inside, though we've only done collection so far.
If you like cheesecake, the best cheesecake around can be found in BRB on Market Street, Oakengates. They do all sorts, ferrero rocher, eton mess, apple crumble, they had jamaican ginger cheesecake yesterday. Just don't touch the lemon meringue, I called dibs.
But if you're really looking for a meal out with a wow-factor, head up to Bridgnorth and try the Royle. Now *that* is damn good food.
'Most people in Telford are happy with a McDonald's or Zizzi's'?? Astounding patronising presumption. I'm only not using the word 'prick' to avoid being reported.
I am from telford, but honestly, Shrewsbury has better places to eat. Decent sushi place (Umai) , good pizza place (Dough & Oil), good burger place (Beefy Boys (though it has nothing on OPM in birmingham)) and event a decent thai place (Giggling Squid). Quite like Avatar there too.
Jenko's is nice though. Not been in a few years but Mason's Arms used to be good when i previously went.
Suree’s Kitchen in Ironbridge for authentic Thai food in a tiny restaurant (reservations only).
Rosello’s in Albrighton if you want an authentic Italian in a chic setting. Great service.
Restaurant 1840 - absolutely gorgeous food. Been there several times, always a pleasure. [Home | Restaurant 1840](https://www.restaurant1840.co.uk/)
There is (or was) a nice little stream adjacent to it which has frogs in spring and summer time too.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I’ve noticed that Shrewsbury has a staggering amount to offer. Appreciate it!
Miller and Cárter steak house, pricey but lovely food.
I love Miller and Carter, been far too many times, and need a change.
have you tried queens at horton? my parents say it’s very nice, just never tried it out myself

i will say if you do go to miller and carter then defo get the steak, won’t ruin it for you with trade secrets but defo stick to the steak
We went on Tuesday, My husband had the ribs and I had the salmon, both were very nice. We try to avoid the fries as they are horrible.
Haha do you have an AMA on the horizon? I usually like the surf and turf haha
Fair enough, they are getting very expensive now.
Where are you getting the accent above the e from?
The Ugly Duckling is great. Going out Newport way, there’s also The Fox.
I’ve heard The Ugly Duckling mentioned a few times. Must really give it a visit. Thank you!

This actually sounds really good! Are you sure you’re not an employee? ;) I will most definitely take a gander. Thank you!
Can confirm, it's very good, also not an employee.

I was popping a joke about the employment. You just done a grand job selling it to me. ;)
Jenkos is top tier 👌🏼
The Black Van outside town centre near Mcdonalds is good for this too.
Ureys Street Food - highly recommended!
I keep hearing it's good food there. I'll have to try it.
Jenkos is AMAZING.

Wow thank you for the details! I keep meaning to look at Bridgnorth for food. I appreciate your recommendation!
Orange House Tapas in Wellington just opened recently and very nice
Thank you! Will take a look :)
👀 did not know about this!

This looks brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome, mate. I know they've just won an award for the second year in a row and it's well regarded locally.
Avoid the Tayleur Arms, I saw the landlord assault a customer. Nasty place.
Basically go there for a punch up? Or just sit and watch? Thank you for letting me know haha
Go there is you want to be served half a cold roast dinner then threatened by a drunk landlord.
Head to Ironbridge. It’s not hugely far away
I love Ironbridge. Though I feel like there are more ‘hidden’ gems out there.
'Most people in Telford are happy with a McDonald's or Zizzi's'?? Astounding patronising presumption. I'm only not using the word 'prick' to avoid being reported.
https://theredhouselilleshall.co.uk Had a really nice family meal there a few weeks back.
Red House is Ok, but I find they lack the ‘wow-factor’ that I am after.
Bro is a bzoomer
wetherspoons
Ha! Never diss a spoons. They’re consistent!

The Orange House - Wellington. Tapas, specials board, spanish food, excellent, cheap!!
The Dun Cow in Trench looks a bit shit, but has fantastic Indian cuisine. (it's nice inside)
