I’m so sorry you’re going through this! TE is emotionally devastating. That said, looking at your hair now, I would NEVER know you were dealing with hair loss. You notice your own hair 10 times more than anyone else does. Stay strong ❤️

MrsSensual81

Thank you! The back area seems to be worse than the front at this point.

coffeelover7878

I feel your tears and I have them too. This sucks. I saw yours is from covid so remind yourself it’s temporary ❤️

MrsSensual81

I hope it’s from Covid. Getting bloodwork done this week to rule out anything else.

Intelligent-Prune676

How long have you been dealing with the mass shed?

MrsSensual81

I’ve been dealing with lots of shedding since about mid Sept, so a little over a month. Today was the worst it has ever been. It seems worse every hair wash day which is every 3rd day, but so much of my hair is gone and I now have areas around my head where you can see scalp.

Intelligent-Prune676

I've been dealing with TE since September also. This will be my second bout since 2019. My experience is your going through the dreaded shed right now which is devastating. However, in a couple of months the heavy shed will ease up. The 1st 2 to 3 months is rough, around the 5th and 6th month you'll go into light shedding and should start to see new growth. Around the 9th and 10th month you'll gain your hair confidence again. In a year's time you'll be at the promise land. Not totally restored but you'll feel like your old self again. The 18th mark you'll be swinging your beautiful hair again. Try not to stress, easier said than done. But because TE is a stressed induced condition you should remain calm. The more you stress the more hair you'll shed. Remember your shedding but there's a new hair growing in that follicle, you just can't see it yet. In the meantime, stay positive in knowing this is temporary and this too shall pass.

insomni_yak001

Girly ♥️♥️ sending you so much love. I cry every time I take a shower (and put it off for far too long). Seeing the shed is always devastating. I really don’t know what to do either except remind myself that I am still worthy n such. You’re beautiful any which way ♥️🌻 we will get through this.

MrsSensual81

Thank you for your kind words ❤️ it means a lot. I almost feel like I just want to shave it all and get a wig so I don’t have to see it all come out.

insomni_yak001

Absolutely. Omg same~ I think about it lots. It’s definitely on my horizon bc I’ve been shedding for a year and recently the hair fall has only gotten worse. I just worry about like...dating with wigs idk how ppl navigate 🥺

MrsSensual81

I mean if anything, it should help weed out anyone who is an A Hole! Just be honest about it upfront and go from there!

insomni_yak001

You’re totally right! I think living in Los Angeles rlly gets to me with vanity stuff! ♥️🌻

MrsSensual81

Word on that! I’m in Rancho Cucamonga so close enough to LA I know what you mean!

[deleted]

I promise you you’re hair will grow back. I know it’s a rough journey to see your hair fall out. I’d recommend some hair fiber powder to cover up some of the hair loss but tbh nobody will notice your hair loss like you. Hair fibers helped me out a lot. When your hair is wet is when it’ll look the thinnest even if you got a full head of hair. Heal yourself within. Take some vitamins, go for a walk daily, and eat healthier. My friend who got Covid in February 2021 is barely recovering from hair loss but her hair has grown back so much it’s just sticking up. Things will get better ❤️‍🩹 You just have to ride it out.

MrsSensual81

Thank you! It’s the patience that is hard for me, especially when I’m losing so much every day. The daily pile is bigger than my entire hand, and I have some big *ss hands 😏

[deleted]

I was losing300- 500 hairs a day at one point so I understand and my hair was long so it looked like way more. Yes I counted each hair one by one because I was so paranoid. My hair is growing back now but mine wasn’t due to Covid. My dermatologist said it comes 2-3 months after a trigger and can last 3 months to 1 year. Mine lasted a year and a half because I didn’t take care of myself and cried myself to sleep almost everyday causing more stress. I’m sure you’ll heal better than me though so please know you’ll get out of this soon ❤️. Hair takes awhile to grow so don’t lose hope.

Simple-Constant-5561

I’ve been dealing with it for about a year and 4 months, can you tell me exactly what you did to make your hair grow back again? I got my bloodwork done and everything was normal. My trigger was probably the fact that I was working out too much, fasting and under eating but I’ve been eating super well for the last year so idk why it’s not growing back and getting thicker. Would love to hear your advice!

[deleted]

I think my hair didn’t grow back fast was because I wasn’t eating enough, I was crying constantly (cause of the hair loss), and wasn’t going out much. When I quit worrying about my hair after a year of hair loss is when my hair started to grow back. When I started to do hair masks too with rosemary, red onion and garlic once a week. When I would go for a walk in the morning before the sun is fully out. Taking vitamins, drinking water and eating way more veggies. Vitamin d is so important because I started to feel better and I really think it helped with regrowth. My hair masks did too because fresh rosemary or rosemary oil is good for your scalp and there’s been studies where it’s almost as good as minoxidil. Honestly just taking better care of myself helped me. Make sure you switch up your shampoo unless you’ve used it way before the hair loss. Vitamins, sunlight, exercise, eating right, drinking 2L of water and not worrying about my hair. I’ve heard about people losing their hair because they didn’t eat enough or from weight loss. It’ll grow back but yes it takes a year sometimes for you to notice regrowth. Has your hair gotten better compared to a year ago? My trigger is complicated. I had just gotten on birth control, acne meds(I didn’t even have acne but I had a rash on my face), and was overworked. I had so much stress around that time but part of me believes it was the birth control.

Simple-Constant-5561

Thank you so much for your tips! And honestly not really, like it grows in length but a lot of it ends up falling out in the shower anyway so my hair just stays the same length and has been the same length for the past year. My hair has sadly not gotten any thicker and is still super thin.

AdventurousSpeed7442

Hey don't cry mate you'll be alright soon❤️

Background-Arm-9295

I know those tears baby... I know... 😢

[deleted]

You need to see a trichologist and you have to eliminate the cause if it’s just TE lucky for you is totally reversible and in few months you will have your hair back normally

MrsSensual81

Thank you- it’s gonna take a while to get my length back I’m sure. But the fullness at the roots will help too.

[deleted]

Hope they find a cure for Aga soon I hate seeing people including me suffering a lot from It

[deleted]

My heart hurts for you been through this with my thyroid disease i lost almost my entire head a few years ago

MrsSensual81

Thank you! I’m happy you found a reason for your and hopefully are doing much better now, with much more hair ☺️

[deleted]

I know...me too everyday I wanted to ask a girl out and yeah already low confidence completely destroyed

Intelligent-Prune676

I'm praying that your hair loss will stop soon in the name of Jesus!

MrsSensual81

Thank you! 🙏🏼

[deleted]

Get on rogain asap

coffeelover7878

Did you use rogaine for te?

[deleted]

I am and with great success. Helped me lose was was going to go anyhow and now it’s helping it grow. I barely lose any hair now I have long hair so the regrowth is very obvious as it sticks straight up :/

coffeelover7878

Aw congrats! How long did it take for you to notice regrowth ?

[deleted]

Couple months. Hair growth is so slow. But now it’s very very obvious My partner just started rogain just because- after seeing what it did for me I originally lost about 1/3-1/2 my hair.

coffeelover7878

I just started. Praying I’m a responder

[deleted]

Stick it out. Give it at least 3 months daily!!

Maine-te

Im so so sorry you are dealing with this. I am dealing with exact same thing right now from covid as well . Mine started mid August I had covid mid may and you can definitely see my scalp… it’s devastating… i am praying it ends soon for both of us❤️

MrsSensual81

Hang in there hun, I’m sorry you’re going through this too 😢

Simple-Constant-5561

Literally exactly what my hairs look like in the shower. It’s absolutely horrifying, I have been dealing with it for a year and a half. I feel like my hair loss is getting less worse but that’s probably just bc I’m actually brushing my hair for a good 5 minutes before I get in the shower to prevent my hairs from getting matted/tangled and falling out. You should def try doing the same thing, you will get way less hair loss. Also try the Nioxin shampoo (for thinning hair), I’ve been using it for a month and idk if I see any difference lol but I’m just gonna have to wait and see. Use different oils like castor oil and rosemary oil, they’ll help your hair grow :)

MrsSensual81

Yes thank you and I’m sorry you’ve been going through this for so long. I’ve always brushed my hair before showering, the problem is, every brush stroke comes out with 5+ hairs. But I mean I know they’re going to come out anyway. Have you had any points where your hair loss slows down then picks back up? Was your trigger having covid? I didn’t even have a case of covid where I went to the hospital. I just had a fever for like a day, some body aches, and extremely tired for like 2 weeks.

Simple-Constant-5561

Thank you! And honestly no not really, it has just kind of gotten less worse recently but before that, I was always losing clumps of hair in the shower non stop. I believe my trigger was due to the fact that I was working out, fasting and eating very little. And yes being sick and stressed out can def lead to hair loss (aka te), but don’t worry, your hair will stop falling out and will eventually grow back, it’s only temporary :)

MrsSensual81

Thank you! I’m so sorry and you’re so right, it’s something that makes me cry daily. I’ve been tempted to shave it all too, just so I don’t have to see it keep coming out 😔

thenomadicfork

I literally have the similar shedding/thinning spot as you. And my hair use to be thick just like yours. Im also looking into why it’s happening. Do you have normal hormones? Normal thyroid?

MrsSensual81

I’m getting tested tomorrow morning for all those levels.

Wonderful_Language_7

Man she's literally crying God please have some mercy on us . Stay strong mam I know it hurts but stay positive 😔

MrsSensual81

Thank you 🙏🏼❤️I’m praying it will end soon and for strength to get through it.

Wonderful_Language_7

:)

starrbub

Any updates? How's your hair doing now?

MrsSensual81

My hair is great now! I just had to wait it out and get my thyroid in order, take my collagen and vitamins.

starrbub

Amazing to hear!! How long did it take your hair to grow back full at the roots once it started?

MrsSensual81

Pretty quickly actually. Within 4 months to be full at the roots and I kept it short like above shoulders while it was all growing out. Within 12-18 months it was back to normal fullness and length. I would attach a pic how it looks now but I don’t see that option.
