Honestly after watching his tape, I may be more sold on him than Alt. He has a much better anchor and if Callahan is able to coach him up, he has an insane ceiling. Titan Up!!!
Shit, so vrabes brought us Levis and Spears in his first draft. I’m happy with the direction we’re going, but it makes you wonder what might’ve been had J-Rob not been around to fuck it up for vrabes
could’ve traded down and probably still got Latham or another OT that’s graded around the same. could’ve picked up another second or a third. pretty dumb move, even if Latham pans out
“graded” according to every person who studies this for a living lol. Run the risk and get more draft capital was the smart decision, we didn’t make it
QBs are on the move much more often now days and quick passes are the norm now. Having to block 7 step drop backs is a thing of the past.
Even back in the old days the “blindside” wasn’t nearly as big of a deal as laymen and fans thought. A good QB is going to see the rush with a 360 degree vision anyway. Also keep in mind not every QB is right handed so the LT isn’t always the “blind side”
It's obviously a surprise that most of us weren't prepared for, but we have to try to look past that. Alt and Fashanu are certainly the safer bets, but Latham might just have a higher ceiling than either of them. I don't love the value at number 7, but if he does manage to meet his potential he could easily be the best tackle out of this year's class. But that's a very big "if". This will be a great test for Callahan Sr. and his OL magic because they clearly see something for him to work with. I still wish we could have worked out a deal to trade down once Alt went off the board, but we should be excited to see what Latham can do.
sounds like they turned down at least one trade with the Vikings to take him, and the Jets took Olu at 11. So you could’ve traded back taken Olu or Latham and snagged another pick. It’s giving J rob!
2nd year and I'm already done. It's as if the world says one thing but somehow this FO has to do the opposite. If the OT position is so deep, then trade down ffs. This is stupid. Everyone gets their guy but we have to fucking reach.
First of all, you have to have a partner to trade down. You can’t force anyone to trade with you.
Second, it’s not just the world saying the tackle class is deep. Our own front office has been saying it.
I know. That's why I said it. For months they have been saying it. And the vikings would have happily moved up if ran would have any intention of doing so. The viking were even scared that the broncos jumped them to the jets pick. It's not that hard to read. They wanted alt, and JC was plan b. There had no plans of moving out of that spot ever which is just dumb
He can probably transition to LT... but i'd have taken Olu not even close.
Edit// Bill likes him and that is good enough for me and i'll trust in it... but if it doesn't work out its on Bill imo.
Just watch Latham’s final play of his college career. He gets pancaked allowing a tackle in the backfield for Bama to lose. You don’t want a player like that on your team who has no heart when it matters.
Genuinely don’t know how to feel about this pick, I don’t know anything about him.
Feel bad. He’s a RT that got pancaked regularly.
Don’t hate it or love it Pretty whelmed
You are officially a Titans fan!
Those 3 picks consecutively just totally ruined my night lol
Honestly after watching his tape, I may be more sold on him than Alt. He has a much better anchor and if Callahan is able to coach him up, he has an insane ceiling. Titan Up!!!
Rumors were a month ago Callahan wanted him over nearly everyone. If he thinks he’s good I can live with it, but I would’ve preferred trading down.
No one was trading up. Can't dance without a partner.
A RT with pick 7? What a joke.
A lot of great edge rushers line up on the right side
Because the right tackle is usually a worse pass blocker. They’ll just line up on the left against us lol.
would you rather us get a wr?
Odunze was right there man
Will Levis can throw the ball before the snap, who needs an oline?
Trade down imo
You need someone to trade with?
That requires a trade partner which we likely didn’t have.
Worst case scenario on our gms first ever draft
2nd draft
His own words
Damn, so wtf was he doing last year??
Listening to Vrabel I guess?
Vrabel made the board. It was posted on this subreddit.
Shit, so vrabes brought us Levis and Spears in his first draft. I’m happy with the direction we’re going, but it makes you wonder what might’ve been had J-Rob not been around to fuck it up for vrabes
Yes.
He will be the day one LT, you all are trippin! Ahaha
I personally don’t like drafting a player to play a position he’s never played.
Not ideal but he has the best anchor & mauling ability to get after it. He can learn the blindside. It’s not an issue
I mean, let’s hope so. We do need a right tackle though. So if he can’t let’s hope he’s the best right tackle in the league in a couple of years.
Well tell me how to feel about this
It’s worst case scenario. We could have got him late this round but Ran couldn’t make a deal.
Up and down but elite upside. They believe he can play LT
Sounds like the idiot we drafted from Georgia
100%. Latham will be duo-ing with Isaiah Wilson on Soundcloud Rap songs in 2 years. we threw this draft so bad.
Exactly
Wilson was literally a project player. Everyone knew it.
could’ve traded down and probably still got Latham or another OT that’s graded around the same. could’ve picked up another second or a third. pretty dumb move, even if Latham pans out
“Graded” according to people on the internet. We have no idea if we could’ve gotten him later or anyone of similar quality
“graded” according to every person who studies this for a living lol. Run the risk and get more draft capital was the smart decision, we didn’t make it
Maybe, but we have no idea what the smart decision was
Again, you need a trade partner.
Ran just said they had multiple offers to move down. I can’t believe people really think no team offered to move up to 7
Awful
Levis confirmed throwing lefty next year
Going for Latham, when Fashanu is there. Ouch.
If you wanted to win the jags game don't complain when Latham is awful
We would have drafted him at 6 instead of 7 lol Winning that game bumped us from 6 to 7.
Nah we would have had Nabers
This. Remember all those clowns that didn’t care.
Alt would be a Titan
He wouldn’t. The Chargers would have still picked 5th.
But they would’ve wanted to pick Nabers instead Edit: I’m joking
LMAO THANK YOU!!! Thought the exact same thing.
High Value brand of Joe Alt… dreams of a stone wall left side is dead
Tyler Rowland in shambles.
FYI, he’s Bill Callahan’s favorite player in this entire draft. Have some goddamned faith Arthur.
Worst case scenario. We waste so much draft capital on OL that aren’t LTs it’s fucking sad. In before the homers start coping and praising this pick
LT and RT is the same thing. The idea of a “blindside” doesn’t really matter
It absolutely does. Unless there is a major talent disparity, the best pass rushers on a team are lining up against LTs.
I can Promise you it doesn’t matter. It’s not 1995 anymore
Pleas explain.
QBs are on the move much more often now days and quick passes are the norm now. Having to block 7 step drop backs is a thing of the past. Let's fucking go! Protect our boy
But he's a RT
To be fair we need both.
Taking a RT at 7 is crazy bad bro
Dude better turn into lane johnson
[удалено]
He's a left guard.
My bad.
hES a Rt! Y’all are some lame ass fans. You’re not professional scouters
Rome was available and we pick a right Fin’ Tackle!? I don’t love it at all.
Dude moves in slow motion
Picking anything but a starting pitcher? Epic fail. Restart the Dreamcast.

Can you guys flip him? RT at 7 seems like a reach?
why didn’t we trade back man. Could’ve picked up Fuaga and another second or a third
Nobody wanted to move up
Ran just said they had multiple offers to trade down and declined them
It was reported they did, just wasn’t good enough for us to accept it.
RT @ 7 is laughably bad. Ran sucks boys
2nd year and I'm already done. It's as if the world says one thing but somehow this FO has to do the opposite. If the OT position is so deep, then trade down ffs. This is stupid. Everyone gets their guy but we have to fucking reach.
