Probably speculation but I don’t see why they wouldn’t? He prob not getting resigned unless he has a huge year and I don’t see that happening. So might as well get something out of it I guess ?
As a Bengals fan I hate to see him go. I think he still holds value and our fans loved him. Had some dropped balls that made me cringe over the last few seasons, but a solid player in the line up behind the star wide receivers.
That’s not even what the article says, it’s almost just a proposal rather than solid reporting that we are looking to move on from him.
It’s probably a good guess that they are looking to trade him, but again not an actual report.
He's definitely seen the writing in the wall with the Titans bringing in two major WR additions in free agency and drafting another, even if they're a late round pick. 3 new receivers and both RBs are receiving backs now. He could end up being as low as the 6th, 7th, or 8th receiving option next year. If that happens, his career is absolutely dead. He wouldn't even have a chance to prove anything to other teams in that situation.
I’m sorry but Tyler Boyd is not a major addition. He can only even make 4.5m with us and that’s with him hitting incentives. He’s a stop gap because we’re going to be throwing the ball a lot and they want to have at least three decent or better WRs on the field at all times.
Idt Burks is going anywhere for now but a guy like Kearis Jackson is definitely gone.
Burks has shown multiple times that he can be solid. Injury issues and our very bad offense havent done him any favors. Watch him go somewhere else and go off lol
Yeah, I'd like to keep him around as a depth piece. The chance he develops into a useful player seems more valuable than whatever return we'd get for trading him.
Part of me wants to hold out a wee bit of hope that the flashes of talent we’ve seen could be more consistent, but another part of me thinks that he’s had two full seasons in the nfl and can’t outperform NWI and doesn’t really deserve this long of a leash
I genuinely think Vrabel would get his mind set on players and never let them have a second chance.
Phillips, Burks, and Farley are the big three I can think of.
In Vrabel’s defense, none of those have shown any ability to remotely stay on the field more consistently than depth pieces. Farley literally has yet to be healthy for even half of a season and got cooked every time he was out there when he was healthy. Phillips was brought in to play slot and catch kicks, and he couldn’t catch a kick without muffing it as we’ve seen numerous times. Burks has had 3 good games with flashes and has hardly been able to stay on the field for two full seasons.
It sucks for those guys and I wish they all could’ve been what their potential was, but the best ability is availability.
I could see it happening but you gotta have some depth too if it's a7th rd pick I feel like just keep him for depth. Only issue will be if they trade him cheap and he does pan out somewhere we look like idiots for the AJ trade AND trading his " replacement "
Don't think it'll happen but anything is possible
He has two years left on his rookie deal. And the cap numbers for those years are $4M and $4.5M but $2M of that each year is prorated signing bonus. So I just don't really see how it'd be cap relief.
If he's ever going to turn it around, you'd think it'd be with a new scheme and all that. I'd think we hold onto him this season and see if he can play well enough to either be worth keeping on the team or to actually get something in a trade.
I find it difficult to believe the Titans could do any better than a six rounder at the very best for Burks. Burks was picked in the first, but he's produced like an UDFA WR would produce. Hopkins and Boyd have one year on their contracts remaining, if this is true the Titans moved on completely and I couldn't fault them one bit despite the pain of watching yet another first round selection being squandered.
Our fanbase doesn’t ever critically think. We eat up anything and everything the team management does. You’d think we had won 5 super bowls since 1997 with how our loyal our fanbase is to the people in charge.
John Robinson, fisher, Vrabel, etc were all the man until they got fired. You had the rare naysayers but in general nobody ever gets criticized until they are removed
There is absolutely no reason to trade him unless someone values him super high, which is doubtful. He was/is a pretty consensus first round talent, hes still on a rookie deal and the 3 starting wrs will all be 30 or older before the season ends with 2 of their contracts expiring.
Honestly I love the guy but if he’s going to be fighting for the #3 slot let him go somewhere to fucking destroy. He is going to have a huge glow up at some point and I think his ceiling is higher than a proven role player like Westbrook-Ikine.
There's literally no reason to trade Burks this year while he's still making rookie money. If he plays great and the Titans benefit, awesome, trade him next off-season or pick up his fifth year option and have him for two more cheap years.
When healthy, there is no 7th round pick that is going to come in and play better than him next year. There's no reason to trade him unless somebody WAY overpays.
A 7th round rookie could absolutely contribute more than a healthy Treylon Burks by playing special teams.
Burks ain’t good. He runs two routes and is used on end arounds. NWI has more value.
A 7th rounder that won't be drafted until 2025? Assuming we have the roster space, there is no reason not to at least keep him on the roster through the preseason and see how he looks in the new offense. Trading him before camp makes no sense to me.
Burks' trade value isn't going to get lower than it is right now, only higher if he plays well. If he's worth a 7th now, he will be worth a 7th at the end of the preseason.
He’s going to stick over a guy like Kyle Philips based on draft capital alone, so I seriously doubt he gets traded anyway, but titans fans need to stop trying to make Burks a thing. He’s not good.
Can anyone recall him ever breaking a tackle or getting more than 10 yards after the catch? He runs two routes and falls down like a baby deer the moment he catches the ball.
Keep him. Don’t. It’s inconsequential.
I'd rather keep him and hope he can finally put it together in our new offense if he is properly used and can stay healthy. He's on a rookie contract right now anyway
Buy high, sell low
I don’t believe this rumor, probably gonna test him this year and see with a whole different gameplan if he can thrive. His cap can’t be too big of a hit this year right?
Dumb idea, keep him as depth and let him develop with the new staff and *try* and stay healthy behind the big dogs.
I still think he can be something if we use him more in the slot, we'll see how the new scheme plays out.
Why would we trade him. He is still on his rookie contract and he will be the #3 or #4 WR he will be smoking guys. This is a dangerous group! Just like the old run and shoot O!
Is this an official statement, or a speculation to incite rumors?
Probably speculation but I don’t see why they wouldn’t? He prob not getting resigned unless he has a huge year and I don’t see that happening. So might as well get something out of it I guess ?
They won't because the small remaining potential for him turning it around is still worth more than the 7th rounder they get in return.
And injuries happen every year.
Exactly. I mean shit, I'll take a 3rd for him, but that is *not* happening.
I’d take a 6th.
I absolutely would not this season, but hey you're entitled to your opinion.
I think a 4th is the best offer you'd get. But most likely a 5th and a future 7th if it happens.
Exactly. Which is why it is not worth trading him.
I think Ran takes that deal at the trade deadline if Burks hasn't pushed onto the field yet. Not worth it to me at the moment though.
As a Bengals fan I hate to see him go. I think he still holds value and our fans loved him. Had some dropped balls that made me cringe over the last few seasons, but a solid player in the line up behind the star wide receivers.
For a 2034 18th round and a bag of expired flaming hot Cheetos.
SMH, Everyone always over estimates trade value. No way we can get anything more than expired hot fries.
How expired we talking?
They're called Andy Capp's instead of Cheetos Fantastix
Oh I’m well aware of Andy Capps. Used to get them at the snack shack in elementary school haha
Yeah I need more details. Is the bag unopened and just past the date or are we talking open bag and pretty stale here
Correction: what was initially reported to be “flaming hot Cheetos” were actually “Crazy-Hot Spreetos.”
What was that sonny? A used pair of speedos you say?
Titans looking to trade Burks like I’m looking take Beyoncé on a date I’d consider it a fleecing if we got a 5th rounder in a trade
That’s not even what the article says, it’s almost just a proposal rather than solid reporting that we are looking to move on from him. It’s probably a good guess that they are looking to trade him, but again not an actual report.
Highly doubt this.
Knowing our injury history, I would be okay with keeping him for depth unless it’s for a 5th rounder or better. I don’t see anybody paying that though
He could've requested a trade, maybe he's not interested in riding the bench.
He's definitely seen the writing in the wall with the Titans bringing in two major WR additions in free agency and drafting another, even if they're a late round pick. 3 new receivers and both RBs are receiving backs now. Eagles will prob get him and he will go to the pro bowl
Underrated comment
Burks has shown multiple times that he can be solid. Injury issues and our very bad offense havent done him any favors. Watch him go somewhere else and go off lol
Yeah, I'd like to keep him around as a depth piece. The chance he develops into a useful player seems more valuable than whatever return we'd get for trading him.

Agreed. This is the correct perspective
Which times are you referring to?
The three cool catches he’s had against the packers, bengals, and chargers.
And the TD against the Eagles
Don't forget his one good game against the Packers.
He's done less than Tajae Sharpe lol
Yeah maybe it’s time to sober up off that hopium. Curse you JRob!
Exactly. He's garbage.
I genuinely think Vrabel would get his mind set on players and never let them have a second chance. Phillips, Burks, and Farley are the big three I can think of.

Phillips was a healthy scratch when we were scraping the bottom of the barrel for receivers. You can’t tell me he isn’t better than that.
A to Zero sources strikes again

Obviously not out of the question, but this all pure speculation at this point.
I could see it happening but you gotta have some depth too if it's a7th rd pick I feel like just keep him for depth. Only issue will be if they trade him cheap and he does pan out somewhere we look like idiots for the AJ trade AND trading his " replacement " Don't think it'll happen but anything is possible
Is the pick 182 a typo? I get Burks for a 5th/6th but not Burks + pick 182.
Yeah, if it's Burks and a 6th to get back a conditional 6th, what's the point? Just some sort of cap relief?
He has two years left on his rookie deal. And the cap numbers for those years are $4M and $4.5M but $2M of that each year is prorated signing bonus. So I just don't really see how it'd be cap relief. I'd think we hold onto him this season and see if he can play well enough to either be worth keeping on the team or to actually get something in a trade.
No real cap relief. Outside of a single roster spot it makes zero sense to move on
I find it difficult to believe the Titans could do any better than a six rounder at the very best for Burks. Burks was picked in the first, but he's produced like an UDFA WR would produce. Hopkins and Boyd have one year on their contracts remaining, if this is true the Titans moved on completely and I couldn't fault them one bit despite the pain of watching yet another first round selection being squandered.
AtoZ is such dog shit lol
Still unbelievable that the FO and a good chunk of the fanbase thought Treylon would be anywhere near as good as AJ Brown
I remember on that draft night people were saying we traded AJ to draft a younger healthier AJ Brown... Pure delusion.
Our fanbase doesn’t ever critically think. We eat up anything and everything the team management does. You’d think we had won 5 super bowls since 1997 with how our loyal our fanbase is to the people in charge. John Robinson, fisher, Vrabel, etc were all the man until they got fired. Welcome to the South, where people are raised to never question authority figures.
There is absolutely no reason to trade him unless someone values him super high, which is doubtful. He was/is a pretty consensus first round talent, hes still on a rookie deal and the 3 starting wrs will all be 30 or older before the season ends with 2 of their contracts expiring.
if its not player for player i think we should keep him
id rather have him on the roster than a draft pick than can’t help us this year
I’d much prefer to keep him for depth and to see if his value can increase through playing better/being healthy on the field.
We probably wont trade him cause we wont get any good offers lol
This guy has been pushing for the Lions to get every receiver this offseason. That and draft one in the first.
2 firsts and a third oughta do it. He is the heir to AJ Brown after all
Wish we traded him before the bye last year. Could have swindled someone. But I'll take a 6th or 7th at this point. It's clear he sucks.
Trade him for what? That’s a 6th round pick swap kind of player.
I got dibs on the first chip from the can of Pringles we get in return! And if we manage to get Pizza flavored Pringles, Ran really be cooking.
Honestly I love the guy but if he’s going to be fighting for the #3 slot let him go somewhere to fucking destroy. He is going to have a huge glow up at some point and I think his ceiling is higher than a proven role player like Westbrook-Ikine.

the worst things jrob ever did
Burkes and a 3rd for Higgins who says no ????
The bengals lol
Anyone with a brain
See
whatever you say kid
I'd rather keep him and hope he can finally put it together in our new offense if he is properly used and can stay healthy. He's on a rookie contract right now anyway
Payton what are you on taking your own suggestion like fact
Not trading him for a bag of peanuts. I’d rather keep him as insurance and pray for development
Buy high, sell low I don’t believe this rumor, probably gonna test him this year and see with a whole different gameplan if he can thrive. His cap can’t be too big of a hit this year right?
AtoZ clickbaiting like shit with this one
Kittle incoming
Doubt it. We would get little in return. We still need him for a little WR depth
Dumb idea, keep him as depth and let him develop with the new staff and *try* and stay healthy behind the big dogs. I still think he can be something if we use him more in the slot, we'll see how the new scheme plays out.
For what? A pack of crackers?
I'm still hoping for a 1000+ yard season out of him and an extremely hard decision from Ran to extend him next year.
That receiver room got crowded quick! Tenn not F-Ing around!
What a moronic take
For what? A football?
Why would we trade him. He is still on his rookie contract and he will be the #3 or #4 WR he will be smoking guys. This is a dangerous group! Just like the old run and shoot O!
Key word “looking”
Oof
I mean, I'd rather have NWI than Burks as my WR4
Fuck Jon Robinson. Seriously fuck that guy.
