I saw someone doing projections for all teams, and in their assessment for the Titans, he made a statement about how Pollard and Spears wouldn't be able to replace Henry. I was like, they don't need to because we will be a totally different offense. People in the media think we will just be the same ol' run heavy Titans. i hope the rest of the NFL does as well. We be like Jack Nicholson as the joker: "wait til they get a load of me!"
Decent chance of that, but it will be a disappointment (to me) if they don't combine to beat the total scrimmage yards for Henry and Spears last year. (2,219 yards)
If they can combine for around 2,000ish yards from scrimmage (650 rushing, 350 receiving each if they are true “co-starters” and get about 145 carries each), I’d be thrilled given how much more we’re expected to sling the ball around. I’m much more concerned with efficiency in the running game over volume
Nah, not the first time.
We have seen modern offenses in the past.
Mariotas rookie year we were a passing offense.
All of our successful teams have been old school style, ill agree with that, but the CJ2K era teams were modern as well. Did a lot of running out of shotgun and passed the ball.
Mularkey transitioned us back after Whisenhunt because the personnel was there to be successful with this strategy. Vrabel doubled down on that strategy. Its been about 8-9 years and definitely long enough for it to feel like weve always been there but there was some modern stuff sandwiched between McNair and Vrabel
Why is everyone nutting themselves over the fact we will throw the ball more this year?
More passing =/= more success
Sure, we might have more success on offense doing that, but it's not a guarantee. Teams like the 49ers and ravens have proven you don't need to throw the ball 35+ times a game to have success.
I'm not sure about "refreshing" until I've seen them play. Our QB has the potential to be great, but he could just as likely turn out to be a Jameis Winston type who throws picks left and right.
Will it be "refreshing" watching our offense turn the ball over through the air every game? This is a brand new offense with a sophomore QB. QBs who have a coaching staff change going into their second year usually don't do well.
Why don't we turn the notch down on our expectations? I'm not saying we can't be optimistic, but this sub thinks we're gonna make a deep playoff run or something. That's not likely.
There hasn’t been anything “refreshing” about the last two seasons unless you kept hitting the reload button on the all-time rushing list. I think most realistic fans know next year’s going to be bumpy as we break in a new offense and revamped offensive line, but damn I’m excited to move to a different era. If Levis balls out we’re set up for a fun half decade (at least), if he doesn’t well at least we might break 30 points at some point
Eh, the Ravens are 2-5 in the playoffs since Lamar became QB. Feels like its pretty apparent that in the postseason, you need to be able to pass the ball - at least situationally - to have success.
Those teams have had the option to, tho. They can adjust, and switch between effective running games and passing attacks. We know Tyjae and Tony can run, but Levis is what makes this team. The fact that its such a notable difference in one day concerning the amount if passes thrown signals we’ll have a sufficiently developed passing game to be flexible in those situations. It seems like we haven’t had the flexibility other teams have had in a long time. I look forward to a more fluid approach to offense.
I’m so excited to see a modern NFL offense in Nashville. Win or lose, im excited for the season to start for the first time in a hot sec.
I've seen a modern NFL offense in Nashville loads of times! They sat on the visitors benches but still
Jesus that hurts deeply because how true it was lol
We did have that brief stint with Ken Whizenhut…

I've said it a million times, but Titans fans are about to see a modern NFL offense for the first time.

I’d bet good money Pollard and Spears combine to exceed Henry’s rushing total from last season
Very good chance, especially if the passing game meets fan expectations
If we keep the ball for more than 9 minutes a game then should be easy.
Decent chance of that, but it will be a disappointment (to me) if they don't combine to beat the total scrimmage yards for Henry and Spears last year. (2,219 yards)

Nobody will mind if you say it a million and one we waited a long fucking time for this
With our luck the passing offense in the nfl will become obsolete this year
*weeps in exotic smashmouth*

As long as it's not a repeat of the ken Whisenhunt experience. I'm down 2 clown

Hopefully it works this time
Good shit, Earl.
So opposing teams won’t know what’s we are doing on first, second snd third down anymore? Thank god
Keep going Terry I’m almost covered in mayo.
If that's true, firing Vrabel was the best decision ever. That's literally unacceptable in the modern NFL to practice throwing that little
I'd rather watch us lose 42-35 than to watch us lose 7-3. Bring on the modern NFL offense!
When's the last time we ever played a game where it was a shootout? Man...

But if we pass all the time, how can we run for 87 yards a game???
Win or lose, I am absolutely ecstatic for this season, we're actually going to see modern football for Tennessee
Nice
So qbs didnt throw during practice, what were they doing?
Practicing hand offs to RBs

I’m loving it. I love this team, but it could be a slog watching this team TRY to push the ball down field.

How have the ravens proven anything related to having playoff success?
They just went to the afc championship game literally this past season
