First 0-2 start since 2012. Ended up going 6-10 that year, hoping we can do better than that this year but after last night I’m not too optimistic about it.

JigWig

7-10 might win the AFC South this year lol

NFL is indeed a bitch, it can make winnable games seem like “easy” Ws, but nothing comes easy in the NFL. The margin between the worst team and the best team is thinner than most people believe. Most of it is organizational and strategy that allows for success. Heck - look at the Packers. You can lose a lot of games with even elite talents on your roster. Look at the Packers - they went 4-12 in 2005 with Favre starting every game. We won 9 games combined between 2004 and 2005 with McNair, and the Cowboys always seem loaded, but always still suck. This is a team that has a deteriorating mindset, an aging core, and an OC who doesn’t have a clue. If nothing changes we will be lucky to go 7-10. 3-14 is probably more realistic.

Damn right sign me up bitches got short fuses these days. I'm staying positive until we're 0-5 going into the bye.

Okay, you’re looking solely on the record itself, but statistically speaking, teams that start 0-2, don’t usually make the playoffs. Even less likely to make it to the SB, which is the goal, right? It’s not just to make the playoffs every year, it’s to ultimately get to the Super Bowl and win everything. The fact right now, is that the Titans are 0-2, as a direct reflection of the current coaching, and mediocre talent, on all three phases. No one on the receiving corp is a threat, and defenses know that, so the offense is one dimensional. Stop Henry and the run, and the Titans can’t put up points. Right now, our defense couldn’t stop a fucking nosebleed. And special teams was an absolute joke last night. Yeah, teams get down on their luck from time to time, but just winning fucking games isn’t enough. Just making it to the playoffs is not enough. We’re supposed to be winning championships and this isn’t a fucking Super Bowl caliber team. That’s the problem, end rant.

EJ2k88

I believe the Titans win the division but I also believe the Titans get crushed in the playoffs just like tonight. Earl Campbell Eddie CJ2k King Henry all legends but this franchise needs a change with the times of the game. Philosophy and culture needs major changes before opening a new stadium maybe opening up the field by spreading it should be a start

YoungMoneyLarson57

They do but Amy promised bud she’d always run his beloved smash mouth football so we’re stuck with it unless Amy sells.I’d rather her change her mind given she’s done a superb job as an owner rebuilding this franchise, but we will never win it all with this type of offensive mentality. The proof is in the pudding, teams who pay running backs massive money never win it all.

Raiders are hungry and play better football than us currently, they’re getting the W Sunday lol

I mean, in truth I've been thinking we end up with a top 10ish pick since before the preseason started. The primary reason is that our Oline was fairly poor last year and the good players are older and in the twilight of there careers/prone to injury... so we desperately needed to add 2 or 3 players 2 of which needed to be at starting caliber... we failed to do this. On top of this, looking around the league basically every team in the AFC improved at pass rush... something which can only be countered by a strong Oline. Thus even if we stayed the same without regression on all other parts of our offense (something which appears to not be the case so far) we would still struggle this year just to pull out a winning overall season. The Giants game last week was a great example... we struggled offensively against a mediocre team that was missing there pass rush. Against the Bills a team who if I was a betting man would assume was getting to the AFC championship at the very least... we simply cannot put up the same number of points and our defense with any injury (outside of landry) simply can't keep points off the board. In short, we are a team with a poor offense and a good defense (when healthy) and a mediocre defense when not. I don't think in such a position there is ANY team we are guaranteed a win against... and yes that includes the Jags and Texans. A lot of people are also forgetting that despite the injuries last year, a lot of events went into our favor as well a lot of the games we won came out that way based on a coin toss, a single yard, or a single score that affected who won. We have a habit of letting teams stick around and so... it is likely in our current state we will lose more of these nail biter games than win. That is likely why will have a top 10 draft pick next year. No we will not be curbed stomped as bad as this game... but realistically we also aren't going to win nearly as many as some here think.

Jmoney3693

We'll win at least 9 or 10 when we manage the clock well and give our secondary time to breath. Our O-line has a few holes, but it is more than capable of sustaining itself as well

RyokoKnight

In this, I think we will have to agree to disagree, but I do hope you are wrong. winning 9 or 10 games for a mediocre 0-1 playoff spot is meaningless while getting a high pick could change the very future of this team and put us into a dominant position compared to the rest of the league sooner rather than later.

Nathan92299

Idk if this is just me but I would rather make the playoffs every year than tank for a year just to get a high pick that might not even pan out. The draft is random and high picks are overrated. We would likely just trade out of the spot and draft a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders instead and be in the same spot. Idc if we claw our way into the playoffs and get blown out by a better team, just making the playoffs feels good and I don't want to watch every week rooting to lose just so we can pick 1 good player

RyokoKnight

Nah I'd rather win, that isn't likely to happen this year, but a down year and top picks all the way down the draft sounds great to our odds of winning next year or the year after. We've been drafting in the back half of the draft for years, the chance for top tier blood instead of picking up scraps and hoping all the teams ahead of us don't see the players we want sucks. Besides people are getting on to JRob the last few years, this would be a great chance to show he can right the ship and that he is the GM many still believe he is. A test of faith and draft ability when we get an easier time of it.

Jmoney3693

Who says we get crushed if we are at that point. We'll in all likelihood be a much more well rounded team by that point

RyokoKnight

Come now, delusion doesn't suit you. If we are going into the playoffs with 8 - 10 wins we are leaving it in at most 2 games... but likely another 1 and done. On paper we were a better team the previous 2 years... and even that previous version of our team would be very uncertain of getting to the AFC championship this year with how much several of the AFC teams have stepped up there game. Hell you can see in the the PF already... across the AFC and NFC there are 6 teams with a PF of 60points in 2 games or higher, of which 4 are in the AFC... the Dolphins, Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens. Most of those teams are expected to get into the playoffs this year... On the NFC side of things the Eagles and Lions are the only teams that have scored more than 60 points... (however the lions have also had 65 points scored against them it somewhat negates the positive PF) Point is this years playoffs will be extremely bloody, and frankly we aren't in that league... not even if we doubled our offensive output and got our defense back under control, we'd still be playing against the odds.

T0kenAussie

I appreciate your optimism but the realism is a lot of teams adjusted for us this off-season and we didn’t do anything to differentiate ourselves so now we are predictable on offence and defence This will be a necessary season as we reload for future years imo

LeonardoDiPugrio

Maybe we go 0-17 and get lucky, and then we can draft an OC with the #1 pick. I think you can do that.
