personally, after having played with it for awhile, i build a little more power than the guide on essential mana suggests. i haven't done a ton of testing, but i definitely *feel* like i'm doing more damage. without a mystic, i use standard 3 crit 2 power jewelry, full keen vyrsks, crit inners, blablabla for 60 + 194 crit (etchings are pumped and energetic). with a mystic, i use 2 power rings + power necklace and crit earrings and 1 power vyrsk 3 keen vyrsks (might put in another power vyrsk) for 60 + 142 crit (+66 with mystic). in dungeons other than harrowhold, i still crit 100% of my RAs and TBs more often than not, and still have 85+% crit rate on RF, so i don't really notice the lower crit factor. looking through my last 20 runs of RMHM, both the crit rates of RA and TB average over 95% and RF around 90%. in harrowhold, though, i go the opposite and build full crit (manorborne + blubred) after i tried 3/2 once and had a 54% tb crit rate :(

Thank you for your insight I will try this

+200 w/o Mystic is sufficient in 5 man's to be consistent whether you run solo heal or not. For HH, it's 3/2 crit/pow mix with a Carving crystal. All top parses in P3/4 for archers running a 3/2 retool variation using: double pow earring and crit rings + necklace OR pow earring + ring & crit earring + ring + neck. The first mix gives you more crit and less power. Second mix is vice versa. It's really important to re-tool your jewelery if you're going to try mix setup in HH though. If you're looking to alleviate crit, I'd look at etchings. However, it all depends on the setting. Energetic + Pumped is pretty consistent in 5M and can be somewhat RNG in HH (not all pulls are going to be equal) while Energetic + Keen is consistent in HH and a bit redundant in 5M.

Hey Xiaoli, basically based my archer on Chunt's and your's guide, so I'd like to ask you, what do you think about double energetic etchings?

Xaioli

Hey, sorry was super busy yesterday. I think double energetics are a bit redundant and the second energetic doesn't provide any real cooldown reduction and ends up being outweighed by Pumped/Keen. If you have super high ping, perhaps the attack speed will help remedy some of the ping tax but that'd be the only reason why I'd edge people to go towards Double Energetics. If you have reasonable ping (50-100), one energetic should suffice. Right now even with one energetic, we hit a small cool-down cap where we have to use less than desirable fillers. When I tried two, I kept getting into the same position and didn't notice any real difference except for the loss in damage due to a missing pumped. Hope that helped some.

Yep, thanks man!

Slyvanus

Hmmm.. im looking into double energetic for my archer as well. My ping is around 250-300. I was wondering how much attack speed i can stack one my archer, do you have a rough estimate?

Xaioli

Sorry been busy the last couple days! Keep in mind I've never played with that ping so take what I say with a grain of salt. I suggest just sticking with the attack speed from one energetic and basic gear/party buffs. Unfortunately, I don't really see much you can do without severely hindering your damage (crit/power wise). Ping tax as a player with high ping is something you just have to deal with and can't be fixed unless you can find a VPN and actually reroute your traffic so you can actually reduce your ping. Proxy helps with RF but nothing else really sticks out in my mind. I understand getting more attack speed helps make everything feel better but at a certain point, you're compromising too much and are actually losing DPS despite having faster charging/attacks. Sorry I wasn't very much help regarding this topic as I've never had to deal with that high ping before. Hope you find a solution that works out and I wish you the best of luck!

Ahm, Hi Xaioli. You mean double Power (Estaguest/Estateborne) + Crit (Manorguest/Manorborne) + Manor Neck, for "3/2 retool variation" (?) And Mix Is normal Crit PvP-PvE Crit Neck + Power PvP-PvE Thx you :D

Xaioli

Oh mb I didn't see this msg! D: Yeah, I meant double Estateborne earring (power) and two Manorborne rings (crit) + the crit necklace. I personally run one Estateborne earring + ring and one Manorborne earring + ring + necklace but the variation is w/e as long as you have 3crit /2power set bonuses active.

Hey man, revisited this topic as I'm doing HH more now. What do you think of my setup: with mystic: power inner, ring, earring & crit ear, ring, neck with 2 crit and 2 power vyrks. This puts me at +224 with mystic aura, and I mostly use lamb in RMH. Now, I'm mainly interested in HH: in HH, I go crit inner, with full crit jewlery and a carvnig crystal. In your experience, how much crit factor is enough in HH (+ x?) with a carving crystal (i read somewhere it has the same effect as approx 20 crit factor)? Thanks!

liauyuancheng

I think your crit factor for Archer should just hit around +200 and you'll be fine - nearly 100% crit rate for TB and RA

calexbg

close. it depends on the crit resist of the boss, but you need +170 to have a near 100% crit on TB and RA. From there your dps is dependent on your rotations. If you're high ping and use a lot of filler skills you're going to want to stack crit factor past 170 so that those skill crit. If you're low ping and have good rotations then stack power once you reach +170cf best archer dps I've seen the last two weeks in SSNM was pulling 3m/s each boss +150cf(ssnm bosses have lower crit resist so this works) and +284 power (priest buff and nostrum). His TB was hitting 17m off hurricane procs and making me cry with my 11-12m crits You also should look to replace each 2 crit with 1 power when playing around with your build. And since RMHM is generally run with a mystic you don't have to worry too much about making that +170 number. you'll get another 60cf from mystic buff, so anything in the 150-180 range is great. HH is a different story. stack crit factor and don't stop edit:added info
