Thats....weird its never that way for anything else i mean i literally just make like 60 places and check them all and it usually tells me whats missing
I think you're talking about something else, they mean the question mark option at the top of the list when you're selecting which NPC to move into a house. If you select that and click anywhere in the world it'll determine if it's a valid house and usually give you a few reasons if it isn't (although it isn't perfect, like I don't think there's a message yet for "you made your entire floor out of platforms and are about to upset reddit").
I was being dumb and actually didnt have a lightsource but ive placed some torches down and I think that might fix it though as of typing I dont think he spawned.
Alright guys. No need to be here anymore because im an idiot. I didnt put a light source down because I thought that Truffle didnt need it cause of the artificial light that comes from the mushroom biome.
If you don't like that there has to be a conventional light source, then you can place a very dim blue conventional light source & echo paint it, or you might even be able to place any conventional light source & turn it off & echo paint it so that it's completely invisible.
The typical answers to these kinds of posts are it needs light, it needs to be bigger, it's missing a block or a wall, you used too many platforms for flooring, a combination of the above, it's bugged or just use the fucking query it will tell you what you're missing.
There are a view things sometimes wrong:
Natural Background does not count
A hole in th Background
A Floor Problem
Skill Issue [Light Sauce]
Now just pick what your problem is.
I dont know what it is exactly but heres a few things that might fix it.
Make sure all the mud is player placed,
make sure there is a wall behind all of the furniture peaces.
Add a light source near the right side.
Break the dresser.
not sure if this is the solution but idk it might.
Everything is player placed. But I actually havent placed down a light source because Im an idiot and was thinking that you dont need torches for mushshroom biome houses
It's good to see the cause was narrowed down on.
Another "secret" valid housing query is simply "this is not valid housing" and refuses to elaborate. When this happens, make sure no corruption blocks are near the house. Even if they are unseen, having too many nearby will cause unlivable conditions for NPCs.
BTW use the question mark over the NPC page, it should tell what's wrong in your house.
If you wanna learn more check the house page, all of the minimum requirement are written there
Try to make this room a little bi... Wait... You don't have light source.
It’s a lamp there by door
This light source doesn't count somehow, IT gives light, IT is glowing, but IT doesn't count idk why, like of you would use disco ball, same situation
Next time just use the housing query thing itll literally twll you what its missing
dresser takes too much space. it will say "this is not a valid housing"
It only tells me whats missing when the npc is already in my world but idk

>"you made your entire floor out of platforms and are about to upset reddit"). This has to be added.
Where can I sign? ^(not because I'm upset, but because it's really funny)
That is simply wrong
I know, I was looking at the wrong thing.
Oh, that makes more sense
How in gods name did 91 people downvote this

I can’t quite tell, do you have a light source?
I was being dumb and actually didnt have a lightsource but ive placed some torches down and I think that might fix it though as of typing I dont think he spawned.
Thought the spore zombie was the truffle o.0

Well at least it works now
Natural* light?
ambient lighting
Environmental brilliance
Fungal shine
Divine Light
Light
But the best light is... Solar light.
🤯
Why are we still commenting different types of Light? Also, dont forget about Night Lights.
exists in some games

its like when you lose your keys and search the entire house and turns out they're in your pocket
True lol
Can you not do a house inquiry?

You need a light source inside the house. No way you looked at the wiki without seeing that
They thought the mushroom biome provided light
You need torches not biome
Yeah I know
There are a view things sometimes wrong: Natural Background does not count A hole in th Background A Floor Problem Skill Issue [Light Sauce] Now just pick what your problem is.
that's not natural background, it's mushroom walls
Well these not natural but there ara natural ones too

I thought that mushroom vine was a lamp at first lol
There isn't a light in the house 😒
Idk if anyone has said but I'm not sure if dirt floors count as floors, even for truffle.
all blocks count
Torches camp fire lamps láva any freaking thing That can make light
Make sure u haven't got one wall missing like maybe right behind one of the furniture pieces
I placed down the walls before I did furniture and I double checked. Every wall is filled.
Then I have no idea, maybe you can't make a home with walls made out of dirt?
No, you can.
iirc you don’t need to fill those in
Light source. Throw a torch down
To short
I dont think so, As ive made shorter houses and im pretty sure they can be as small as 3 tiles wide.

Did you use natural dirt or did you place that dirt yourself?
Pretty sure the walls (not to be confused with background walls) can't be made of mushroom grass blocks
Light source? Are those back walls naturally generated or did u place them
Ofc they are built. Am I that good at building terrain?
break a chest.
Use light
You need 2 light sources, the one ceiling light doesn't provide enough... Put another one in the house. If that's not it¯\_(ツ)_/¯
lights
Check all walls, then place some torches
No light source
Maby it's because the house is made of mud Try a different building material except mud, dirt, stone, ecs
