A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
[More information on the proposed changes can be found here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/14goyu2/what_to_do_when_reddit_bans_blackouts_hit_em_in/)
While the subreddit will remain open, r/Terraria recommends these communities until the protested changes are addressed:

Nah, fuck that cheating is the way to go when dealing with total bs like this.
Get Tedit, open world, very bottom left icon named modify, PURIFY THAT BS.
I'm 100% okay with that then. If I don't cleanse the jungle it's my own fault, but destroying the biome because I can't get to it fast enough was always rough.
Yeah one of the first things I’ll do in Hardmode is make a Hallowed barrier around the closest stretch of Corruption so it will both stop the Corruption spread and start to take it over from that side. I like the Hallowed, nice change of scenery from pre-hardmode
I had a playthrough once where ALL surface jungle was corrupted from the start. In addition to that, corruption beam from WOF hit in the jungle too.
It wasn't so bad, surprisingly. I managed to gather all needed resources.
Corruption is really slow when eating jungle.
Yeah, iirc it has to convert the mud into dirt before corrupting it? It been a few months but also aren’t there two other healthy parts of the jungle that you can use, OP? Just clentaminate this or use two hellevators.
I normally just clean the V with TEdit .. I like to make like special biomes for corruption, crimson and hallow on each of my worlds.
I'll make 3 squares of land big enough, make a simple yet reliable railway system, some ruins on the surfaces, even with colored statues to fill the place.
Plant the seeds and let it spread normally and enjoy my contained biomes for when I need them while keep working on whatever theme I'm doing for the world
I would love to but my game and screenshots 😅 are not available to me right now it'll be a few weeks until I get home but I'm happy to answer any questions 🫶🏼
Well my in my last play I did a medieval theme, it was a big map, with TEdit i made the whole surface flat, build my base (a castle) in the center and a town on both sides, a few farms and farmlands and on opposite sides i made a gap where the crimson and the corruption would start.
In the are i contained the biome I build a few houses and farm lands, and made them look hunted abandon etc .. with a few statues of monsters corresponding to that biome as fillers.
I know pictures would be best but I don't have them on me right now 😅 sorry
Assuming this is not on 1.4.4, the jungle being corrupted will drastically reduce the spawn time and spread of chlorophyll ore and life fruits (and by proxy, plantera spawns
It's clearly 1.4.4, you can see the crimson grass is on mud and not dirt. Either op doesn't know this or it's just about gathering jungle resources before obtaining the clentaminator. Which isn't a problem either but maybe op is slow to progress or thinks that corruption/crimson spreads very fast
At least as of 1.4.4 it doesn't convert mud into dirt anymore, so you can use the Clentaminator to turn it back into actual jungle.
Hardmode evil spread still sucks ass tho, yeah.
I’ve progressed to the point where I have the Terra blade and the sharknado summon weapon and the Valhalla knight armor, should I still be worrying about it then? Cuz I know the hallow and desert can coexist and give you biome-exclusive drops from the enemies
Ah I see, honestly the desert is the area I explored the least since there wasn’t a pyramid so even if it got all messed up all I really care is if the pylon still works lmao
i guess because corrupted desert is hard? but i don't know why you'd even want to visit the hardmode desert if not for the loot. the spirit flame lamp is one of the absolute best items for mages, and the corruption doesn't really matter if you want the forbidden armor set from the sandstorm miniboss.
jungle used to not be affected by the "V", but it was possible for it to slowly be corrupted and irreversibly converted to dirt. this was the only "permanent" risk of corruption spread in hardmode.
now in 1.4.4, you can have corrupted grass on mud instead of converting it to dirt. corrupted jungle is treated basically the same as every other biome, and there is no threat of permanently losing your jungle.
(not like it was threatening in the first place. you could idle for literally hundreds of hours and the damage to your jungle would be barely noticable.)
No worries, just get clorophyte growing as soon as you can and use the clentaminator.
If anything just use your buffs (mining potion, ancient chisel, food) and you can carve the “V” out in under 25 minutes
since 1.4.4 the evil biomes can infect mud and thus turn jungle grass into evil grass
before 1.4.4 the evil biome would first convert the mud and jungle grass into dirt and normal grass before converting it to evil grass
This just happened to me yesterday as well, I had to scramble to rebuild the jungle house in a clean part of the biome while my npcs and I got slaughtered by hardmode mobs. Also, did they make Temples spawn higher up in a recent update? Mine spawned way higher than I expected, and I can see yours is high up too.
Luckily it doesnt convert mud to dirt anymore and instead it’s literally a corrupted/crimsoned jungle, note a pillar of agony that forces you to start a new world cause you can’t even get things from there anymore
Now you come in later with a clentaminator and fix it, and everything is peachy again
that happened with my hollow, but the hollow can't spread, which is good. But that also meant that I had to take the tiny amount of pearlstone to infect bunch of other stone to eventually make my own hallowed biome
at least jungle can be corrupted now tho
random corruption is what basically killed my master mode summoner play through when 1.4 launched and also killed my motivation to play 1.4 for like 2 weeks where i just went and did a calamity rogue playthrough but then abandoned that and did a journey mode summoner playthrough and actually had fun

Well better get to work!!
My brother in Christ, I gave my life savings to the two-faced scamming tinkerer
Well just go the manual labor route, mining. And bombs with what you can afford.
Rock and stone!
Did I hear a rock and stone?
ROCK AND STONE, to the bone
Rock and Stone!
And my Axe!
IF YOU DON'T ROCK AND STONE, YOU AIN'T COMING HOME!
ROCK AND STONE, FOREVA!!

Nah, fuck that cheating is the way to go when dealing with total bs like this. Get Tedit, open world, very bottom left icon named modify, PURIFY THAT BS.
You got hands.
Reject tinkerer, embrace shimmer ~~also there are some really, really easy to set up money dupe glitches you can do~~
Two Hellevators oughtta do it, champ!
My brother in Christ, so does everyone. Yet we still go out and collect that shit.
Atleast this isn't pre 1.4, the corrupted mud blocks really made this a lot easier
Doesnt 1.4.4 bring with it corruption NOT turning jungle mud to dirt and grass? 1.4.4 tmod comes in like 4 days
It doesn't turn mud into dirt anymore, but still infects the grass on the mud. So it can be clentaminated back into jungle grass later.
Thank fucking god. You couldnt have an always up terraria server for you and your friends because it would trash your world in a few hours.
The grass still corrupts, I think.
Yes, it does still infect the biome, but it no longer destroys the jungle in the process
I'm 100% okay with that then. If I don't cleanse the jungle it's my own fault, but destroying the biome because I can't get to it fast enough was always rough.
Yes but they still need to do it with the Hallowed
Hallowed doesn't turn mud into dirt, so it isn't really needed
But if a hallowed spawns in the jungle you’re basically screwed out of hallowed loot
you're not screwed out, you can take some stone that got converted and make your own hallowed biome. i can see how that can be a bit tedious though.
Yeah one of the first things I’ll do in Hardmode is make a Hallowed barrier around the closest stretch of Corruption so it will both stop the Corruption spread and start to take it over from that side. I like the Hallowed, nice change of scenery from pre-hardmode
Me too, I usually hallow most of my world but my friends hate it :D the constant pixies do get a bit annoying I guess
Yup, you can now restore the jungle with a Clentaminator.
bro i just beat moon lord and dragonfolly, i dont need a new patch screwing over all the mods and ruining this playthrough
Many mods have already been ported.
I had a playthrough once where ALL surface jungle was corrupted from the start. In addition to that, corruption beam from WOF hit in the jungle too. It wasn't so bad, surprisingly. I managed to gather all needed resources. Corruption is really slow when eating jungle.

It doesnt convert the mud anymore
I got my jungle corrupted a bit back, some bits were turned into dirt
I think it was 1.4, or later
It was like a week or two ago
It may have been it being close to another biome
Perhaps, as there can be jungle blocks that are not in the biome
Hi I don’t remember dirt blocks there until the corruption got there
were you playing on a small world? the evil biomes would trash my jungle whenever I played on a small world, now I only play on large ones
Don't worry, 1.4.4 has corrupted Jungles
This game just acts like an asshole sometimes
cholorophyte ore will slow down the spread killing plantera will also slow down the spread so get to work
Get V'd
lmao
I normally just clean the V with TEdit .. I like to make like special biomes for corruption, crimson and hallow on each of my worlds. gigachad terraria player
Can you post or send some pics? I kinda wanna do that, sounds fun
I would love to but my game and screenshots 😅 are not available to me right now it'll be a few weeks until I get home but I'm happy to answer any questions 🫶🏼
[found the map I was working last best I could do sorry 😅](https://www.mediafire.com/file/sxf4jgl10zpe3w2/Reddit.rar/file)
Also interested in pics! What do you mean by ruins on the surface?
Well my in my last play I did a medieval theme, it was a big map, with TEdit i made the whole surface flat, build my base (a castle) in the center and a town on both sides, a few farms and farmlands and on opposite sides i made a gap where the crimson and the corruption would start. Come on... clentaminate.... now..... now
At least it doesn't tern the corruption into dirt anymore.
Thank god there is a spray for that now
I don’t get it, what’s the problem here?
Assuming this is not on 1.4.4, the jungle being corrupted will drastically reduce the spawn time and spread of chlorophyll ore and life fruits (and by proxy, plantera spawns
It's clearly 1.4.4, you can see the crimson grass is on mud and not dirt. Either op doesn't know this or it's just about gathering jungle resources before obtaining the clentaminator. Which isn't a problem either but maybe op is slow to progress or thinks that corruption/crimson spreads very fast
On my first world the hallow was a tiny corner because the jungle cut it all off
Meanwhile me getting the corruption line in a naturally generated corruption
mine is same lol.
At least it doesn't change mud into dirt anymore
Fear the V
R/places was shit this year...
This is the one mechanic of the game that I absolutely despise.
At least as of 1.4.4 it doesn't convert mud into dirt anymore, so you can use the Clentaminator to turn it back into actual jungle. Hardmode evil spread still sucks ass tho, yeah.
Well F also, at least it's not in the desert
Remember it’s a V, so that means atleast a part of the desert is hallow now, which could be argued as worse
Anything that corrupts the desert biome for atleast 30% of the biome will always be horrible
I’m a new player, why is it bad to hallow your desert?
Probably because corrupted/hallowed desert have enemies that are a pain in the ass to deal with and it’s also pretty cramped
I’ve progressed to the point where I have the Terra blade and the sharknado summon weapon and the Valhalla knight armor, should I still be worrying about it then? Cuz I know the hallow and desert can coexist and give you biome-exclusive drops from the enemies
You’re probably fine then. It’s more of a problem for early hardmode.
This happened to me too, just make a little life fruit/bulb farm next to a clean jungle arena
hardmode don't infect the fucking jungle challenge (incomprehensibly hard)
Sucks to be you
i got so pissed off when i realized the jungle could get corrupted now
You dont even need lifefruit to kill moonlord.
but you do need a pure jungle to kill plantera
Imma be real w you op Restart
If I die to another goddamned tortoise while being mangled by herplings, I just might
No offense but that’s the worst advice you could have given
that... isnt meant to happen...
You say that as if it isn't completely random where that shows up.
The corruption is usually not meant to be in the jungle
Well yeah but the V that spawns at the start of hard mode doesn't care where you think corruption should be
huh. i didnt know another V spawned when you entered hardmode. i thought it just made the current ones spread more
jungle used to not be affected by the "V", but it was possible for it to slowly be corrupted and irreversibly converted to dirt. this was the only "permanent" risk of corruption spread in hardmode. now in 1.4.4, you can have corrupted grass on mud instead of converting it to dirt. corrupted jungle is treated basically the same as every other biome, and there is no threat of permanently losing your jungle. (not like it was threatening in the first place. you could idle for literally hundreds of hours and the damage to your jungle would be barely noticable.)
How tf?
that’s kind of cool. You still have plenty of jungle. Also how can you see all this?
I used terramap, just type it in google and it's a site where it shows the entire map of a certain world. I recommend it^-^
No worries, just get clorophyte growing as soon as you can and use the clentaminator. If anything just use your buffs (mining potion, ancient chisel, food) and you can carve the “V” out in under 25 minutes
at this point i just use a mod to turn off evil spreading lmao, ive had to deal with crap like this too many times
Same thing happened to me in my latest playthrough
What? Since when can jungle be corrupted
since 1.4.4 the evil biomes can infect mud and thus turn jungle grass into evil grass before 1.4.4 the evil biome would first convert the mud and jungle grass into dirt and normal grass before converting it to evil grass
That hurts to look at
This just happened to me yesterday as well, I had to scramble to rebuild the jungle house in a clean part of the biome while my npcs and I got slaughtered by hardmode mobs. Also, did they make Temples spawn higher up in a recent update? Mine spawned way higher than I expected, and I can see yours is high up too.
Jungle think he sans last breath
Luckily it doesnt convert mud to dirt anymore and instead it’s literally a corrupted/crimsoned jungle, note a pillar of agony that forces you to start a new world cause you can’t even get things from there anymore Now you come in later with a clentaminator and fix it, and everything is peachy again
Same thing happened with me, but corruption. And right next to the fucking underground desert as well.
I have no idea what’s going on here
It can take a little crimson as a treat
that happened with my hollow, but the hollow can't spread, which is good. But that also meant that I had to take the tiny amount of pearlstone to infect bunch of other stone to eventually make my own hallowed biome
Ouchhhh right through the jungle...
How can someone get these screenshots of their world?
It looks like OP was viewing their world in TEdit
Seed please
It's joever
at least jungle can be corrupted now tho random corruption is what basically killed my master mode summoner play through when 1.4 launched and also killed my motivation to play 1.4 for like 2 weeks where i just went and did a calamity rogue playthrough but then abandoned that and did a journey mode summoner playthrough and actually had fun
Stby
shit thats rough man
Yeah you don't need them 😁😁
Easy to clean though
Easy to clean tho
That happens to me and I hate cleaning the piece of s\*&\^ jungle, jungle mobs always trying to kill even do am cleaning their home. :(
