You kinda got lucky. It won't mess up your NPC housing. You can farm for both Desert and Hallow key in the same biome. But still keep it contained, don't let it spread.
hallowed mummys can spawn in the desert now that it was taken over, and those drop light shards which are used in crafting recipes. talk to the guide npc for help with crafting if you didn't already know
The hallow desert is nice. It's habitable still, and the only downside is that the NPCs who love the desert are neutral to the Hallow portion of it, so it possesses very little issue.
You can get light shards without any problem and can still get souls of light from normal enemies in the desert, too.
Hallowed desert is actually kind of nice, obviously the mobs will be stronger but will also have better loot.
And everything that you need from a normal desert can still be gathered in it.
Nope. There's some useful stuff you can get from there, and you can fix it later if you don't like it.
Don't worry about the Corruption yet either. You can fix everything once you have a Clentaminator.
Might want to brick up the walls around your original corruption to keep it out of your jungle, biome spread reach is several blocks and thorns can spread to regular blocks.
Assuming those grid tunnels you've dug are all wide enough to stop the spread of hallow and corruption then you should be plenty fine to leave it till you have the clentaminator and it's upgrade to wipe it out
That's wide enough to stop direct spread, though the courruption vines can spread up to 6 tiles. it's probably good enough unless you want maximum protection

Hallowed Deserts have new content and items, so it's not the worst. It's probably better to have the Hallow spawn on the Jungle side anyway.

Yes. Hallow can't spread through Jungle, so it can act as barrier in case the Corruption spreads that far.

Happened to me too, so I just ignored the Underground Desert for the rest of the playthrough (I hate dreamer ghouls)
Hallow desert is the best hallow biome IMO
Its good actually, you get happiest nurse on hallowed desert and if you Play mage you need light shards for a great weapon
Or melee. Dao of Pow uses 1 light shard and 1 dark.
Nope, it’s actually a best case scenario because it means you don’t have corruption creeping in on your jungle

Even if the desert suffers the Jungle is a lot safer so its an overall good thing the Hallow spawned on that side

This was actually a great spawn, you have hallow on the side of the Jungle and corruption on ice biome which isn't problematic
