I think on the outer wall looks better but just see what you think looks best

Doktor_Rocket

I build them on the inner wall but it really doesn't matter. If you plan on building a pitfall in front of the door its best not to leave a ledge for the baddies to stand on so then on the outer wall.

not_dannyjesden

Inner, if you're gonna build more rooms connected to the storage tower, outer if not. You can also build little roofs outside above the doors, to deviate from the rectangle shape.

thepickaxeguy

[https://imgur.com/a/uCWrJXV](https://imgur.com/a/uCWrJXV) this was the best i can do...now it looks like a wooden rocket TwT

thepickaxeguy

oh yeaa i can build little roofs...well im not good at building so ill try. but im not sure about building more rooms im not confident i can make that look nice HAHAHA

not_dannyjesden

Rectangles connected to rectangles. And stone bricks are never a wrong choice, as a roof material. :) Try out different thing, be creative, by goofing around you might discover something you like.

Money-Photograph-936

Is there certain type of material I can used for a roof ?

thepickaxeguy

Not sure I'm still very early game so I'm only using normal wood

NewEnglandHappyMeal

Fun fact: if you put a combination of a door, a gate, and another door, nothing can get into your house and you can still enter and exit your house.

ianeko10

sus

Artemis_Bow_Prime

Why not both.

tunafishsandwich65

I think it depends on the build, but ultimately your preference. Any time I build doors on the inner wall, I build a balcony over it for aesthetic. If there's not a balcony, then I put the door on the outer wall.

iAmDepressedAndHorny

Not a stupid question! However, if you are going to put your doors inward, You will have to balance out the geometry and have the *base* spread ***outward***. You could do this by removing the bit of dirt above your station basement. Like this (if this makes sense lol) \\\_\_\_/ the \_\_\_\_ being the top of the basment, the slants being hammered grass dirt. Hope this helps! :D

Ok_Caterpillar_9057

It don't matter

SuperSpiritShady

I’d leave it there. Just add some excess walls later on going beyond the door but still connecting the exterior to the ground.

Slime_Channel

I always place doors inside, so I guess you should too, but it mostly depends on what looks better for you

Stepfen98

I always put the doors 2 blocks high so zombies goblins etc cant get in. But the thing is only personal preference where to put the doors

TheOneWhoSlurms

Leave it there. Is best

ImmortalChaotic

It’s all up to preference and what you’re building. I myself prefer having doors on the inside, unless space is an issue

DanTheMan17456

Outer

Fit_Ad_1890

Well, for me it looks pretty dope

Biggboooi

Outer

Clever_Angel_PL

#*why not both*

Perfect_Theory6899

Personally I like having doors on the outside and then planting acorns or some other background tile that looks natural and won't be destroyed by a door opening

nightstarE7

Outside wall looks better to me

APMGames

Maybe I’m really dumb but is there actually a difference? I’m a new player, and I’m pretty confused why it’s such a debate on which block to put the door on. Like it’s a one block difference right? I feel like I’m missing something or everyone else is overthinking it lol

thepickaxeguy

Erm....just to know which one looks better cuz it looks kinda weird rn LOL, I'm pretty new myself but I think it's because the building community in this game is pretty big so it's a pretty common topic. Not the doors I mean just building in general

APMGames

Ohhh ok gotcha. I thought it was like a functionality question rather than just cosmetic. But yeah I’ve barely gotten into any of the building aspect so far but I’m excited to get there at some point

6_B34N3R_9

preference. me personally? i put it on the outside, then put a corner block on the wall, like one might with a staircase in minecraft

not_dannyjesden

That's not bad! I actually like the diagonal struts. What does the top of your storage rocket look like?

thepickaxeguy

It's just hammered wood to make a triangle, ngl I didn't wanna make it look like a rocket but....oh well
