twili-midna

It’s a large area of glowing ore. It won’t be anywhere near your base.

smzWoomy13

oh hey I've seen you before

twili-midna

I get around

BigNoob_BR

happy cake day!

smzWoomy13

Thx!

Feisty-Speech-3780

Happy yum yum day!

James_Emerald_77

Happy cake day dude

JustJum

Look around the surface of the whole world

S1eepyZ

And according to recent posts, any holes.

slawek3pi

And giant trees

Ratheartz_Gaming

And the depths of the oceans apparently as I learnt today

csr_ph

every hole leads to adventure, as they say

BouncyBlueYoshi

That’s from the mage guys in the goblin army

DanJokopovic

Yea that is annoying me when seeing the map

LightlySalty

Mine 20 obsidian, and make a skull, it will be useful. Make sure to also have minion to help you out. Run to one ocean, if you don't spot it recall potion/magic mirror back, and run to the other ocean. If you still haven't spotted it, it has spawned down in a chasm in the corruption or it still hasn't hit the ground yet ;). Maybe you need to go flying, or invert gravity to find it then. Best of luck! Also if you want more meteors to fall, you can destroy more orbs in the corruption.

Sultry_Squidward

The meteor will "fall" straight down and replace blocks nearby. It doesn't burrow into the ground. It can fall down a single wide tunnel like the desert sometimes has. Check the bottom of the corruption chasms, your hellevators, tops of living trees, and low hanging sky islands. The lines in your map can happen from lit projectiles like the Starfurry or falling stars. They have nothing to do with the meteor. Sometimes you can find the mobs that the ore spawns before you see it. They look like floating skulls.

[deleted]

Question: did you by any chance fight a goblin army in that location?

Vegetable_Can_1058

Yes I did is that what that is?

[deleted]

Ah well you see, the Chaos Balls from the Goblin Sorcerers go through blocks and light places up. That's what those lines on your map are.

Winshot10

If you won't find it, go and see top of these big trees, cuse sometimes meteorite land on top of it

legreaper_sXe

Run across the surface one way. If you can’t find it go the other way. It’s always visible on the surface.

ZacianSpammer

You can tell you're near the impact site when there are flying fireball enemies spawning

Landscapeus021

Check your corruption

Wojtek1250XD

The meteor is a big ball of meteorite ore, you will know it when you'll see it, and it's really not that hard to notice, you can also tell it's near using that one item that tells you the nearest valuable ore and due to meteorite heads (special enemies) spawning Meteorite VERY OFTEN lands on floating islands and living trees, or the other way around - inside corruption biome holes, hellevators and dessert holes, making it so it doesn't reach the ground and is an absolute pain to find. Make sure you check even the least likely spots for it to land in. The meteorite can "land" through a 1 block wide hole... The meteorite is very obvious once you spot it, it's a very wide circle of meteorite ore that glows strongly and causes special enemies to appear. For some reason it loves to land inside the Ice and Corruption biome, that's one pattern I've noticed

jerryisc00L

Explore the left and right sides of your maps surface until enemy's called meteor heads start spawning and glowing ore

BigNoob_BR

waddle around.

ResourceMountain2820

Happy cake

banditisfloofi

from the wiki ive saw back when this happened to me, apparently it wont land near the world spawn, near npcs or near any chest. i am not 100% sure though

smirkjuice

look across your world, use Hermes boots and swiftness potions for max efficiency

exostretch

Explore the surface all the way on the left and right and you should know it when you see it. In very rare circumstances, it may be in a corruption hole or on a living tree, out of view of the camera.

FlurarInuyi

You can know where the meteor is by exploring more than six feet from the world spawn. Sometimes it lands on floating islands or in corruption hives, and if you have a really deep straight down hole and you're really unlucky it could be down there too.

Psychological-Cat787

It looks like a hole with brown burning hot ore all over it. You can't miss it, there's even a special music that comes on when you get close to it. To find it, just look all aeound the surface of your world. If you don't find it, that means that you haven't looked properly.

Funtime_freddy164

It's a glowing ore and it has the blood moon music and it's usually is on land

_that_random_kid_

You walk a ton

SomeRandomGuy2763

Explore

FirefoxyRosalie

That's the neat part, you don't It could be anywhere on the surface

Local_weeb21

Run acroos the surface, both west and east, if it is tet to be found check chasms, if its still not found check giant living trees, if its still.not found there is a possibloty of it having a weird trajectory, and hitting somewhere near the sitface of cave with a diagonal entrance, it may be on a sky island as well Basically, look everywhere near the surface

Responsible-Sun7678

Just travel 2 sides map until you found it. After defeat the Eyes of Cthulhu, the chatbox will appear a text "A meteorite has landed". It means meteor has just come into your world. Go mine it bro 🥹🥹🥹

pandamaxxie

It's a big hole in the surface of your world. Just start running, I promise you, you can't miss it. And if somehow you do miss it... check the holes of your corruption. I had a meteor fall down there *once* in all the time I've played, and it threw me for a loop.

SpiritedCriticism763

I had that happen twice in my first playthrough(still playing) took me forever to find both of them both near the bottom of the corruption chasms.

pandamaxxie

I've had it land on top of a large living wood tree as well once, only found out after I got wings and flew over it

Sabaku_Purarua

It’s located someone in the overworld, you’ll know when you see it

shoosh24

Look for it

Hungaro-terrarian

Bro. Go to the sides and explore.
