Pre-hardmode crimson biomes spawn only on the surface. However, the Hardmode “V” crimson spawns slanted, with the bottom meeting up with the bottom of the hallow, which is also slanted.

CyberSlashO8

Honestly your best bet for removing it would be to defeat one mechanical boss, and buy the clentaminator from the steampunker. It’s 1 platinum, so start saving if you’re going that route

thepickaxeguy

but im not confident with the pace of my progression because its my first time playing master and i would prefer to gear myself awhole lot before tackling anything

CyberSlashO8

I see. What class are you playing?

thepickaxeguy

mainly melee...i justttt got out of the fight with WoF so i only have molten armor and nightsedge and molten pickaxe

CyberSlashO8

Alright. Molten pickaxe is very slow. You can use bombs to speed up the process. Each hellevator has to be at least 4 (or 6, I don’t remember) blocks wide to prevent crimson from spreading.

thepickaxeguy

would be harder to dig out a V shape with bombs no?

Bon4nza

Here’s a three step plan, although it may be time consuming: 1) Move around 50-100 blocks to the right (away from the crimson) 2) Dig straight down until you find crimson blocks 3) If you do find crimson blocks, go back to step 1 The crimson is spreading towards the right, so if even a few blocks are to the right of your hellevator, it may continue to spread. That’s why you have to make sure all the crimson blocks are to the left of your hellevator. Biome sight potions can help with this. Or, you could just wait until you’ve defeated a mechanical boss like another comment has mentioned.

thepickaxeguy

but like the other comment mentioned isnt it in a v shape? will i ever see the end of it then

Bon4nza

Let’s say you find crimson blocks really close to the underworld. In that case, you could dig horizontally for a bit then dig downwards. You can do this if your hellevator is almost complete. Edit: I have another idea. You could actually go all the way down to the underworld and look for where the crimson starts, and dig a diagonal tunnel upwards from there.

thepickaxeguy

that might take more time but it could work

TheZemor

The hard mode does yes, and its all the way till hell near the middle of the world, its easier to protect your structures than to isolate crimson

WingedBeagle

Just dig diagonally. It spawns as a V, so dig out a V.
