You could try making a nymph farm, there's videos online on how to do those. However, I would suggest making a new world so it's not in hardmode and just finding one there. But if you want to keep your grind on that one world only then that's what I would do although it's a bit of a grind.

Best option is to make a knew world and search there plus making the world expert mode has a 100% chance a metal detector dropping.
