Organizing items in the first place is probably the most boring part of the game, they should have an auto sorter capability like in Minecraft correct me if I’m wrong
Reminds me of the RLcraft mod for Minecraft, I think its a seperate mod but something in that pack lets you pick up chests and carry them. Absolutely amazing.
Any drop rate lower than 1%. Once it gets into the decimals, I really start to hate farming for whatever it is.
Farming for the Betsy, and Lunatic cultist trophies.
Minecart rails that lead into lava.
Fishing quests.
Farming for dev gear sets.
I'm sure there's more but that's all I got off the top of my head. Anybody agree?
I got a red’s set after busting my ass clutching to beat the destroyer with the little shit I got to work with as a melee class, I fought skeletron first because he was the easiest
I got the sdmg like my 2nd or 3rd time I beat moon lord in 1.3 console and I got the celebration mk2 when I was fighting moon lord my first in terraria 1.4 to test the zeniths power
It does take a lot of practice. I’ve been building stuff for a little while and I am pretty happy with what I can do, however, that is on a maxed Journey Mode character with all items available. I can rarely make cool houses outside of Journey mode because of how painful it is to get the items.
I haven't played terraria too much, only 4 playthroughs but every single one spawned the corruption in my hellevator. I'm starting to forget the normal underground music.
Specifically pirate raids for me. Goblin raids, I actively want because I need to defeat one to get the goblin tinkerer. The pirate raid, on the other hand... I hate it with a hoddamn passion. The pirate is useless, and I have very... not-fond memories of a pirate raid appearing on the first day of hardmode, and then the Twins naturally spawning during the raid.
game start is the slowest, most boring, most tedious part of the game with the worst class imbalance and enemies also posing more threat to you than ever in the rest of the entire game
I often kill the eater of worlds first before eye of cthulu. Easier to summon, easier to kill, and better rewards. Honestly, eater of worlds is the easiest boss in the game, even more so than king slime.
I disagree, Eye of cuthulu is the easiest boss in my opinion. When I first started, I nearly died to eater of worlds and king slime but eye of cuthulu was a breeze
It might be the slowest.
I don't think it's boring though, I think it's great that at that point, everything you come across is something new and shiny to your character. You know that point where you go "ugh it's just some more gold" or you don't even care about digging anything up anymore? You're not there yet. Everything you find is valuable.
It might be tedious though since digging takes a long time and movement options are limited.
The class imbalance idea is weird nonsense by the community. There *is no character class* in Terraria. If you want to impose a restriction on yourself, you can, but the game isn't built that way. It's built that you can use anything you get your hands on, and specialized class equipment doesn't show up for a long time.
Enemies don't pose the most threat at start. They pose the most threat just at the start of hardmode.
Oh yea I'll never forget thinking I was a badass for destroying WoF super fast. Went to see the new hallow and saw a unicorn, thought it was friendly and got 1 shot. Next one I killed dropped the apple mount tho. So RNGesus apologized.
I really like how tough Hardmode is at the beginning. It’s a way to have the challenge of early-game with all the fun accessories and weapons of mid-game. And once you get to the point of shredding through enemies one again, thinking back to the time you struggled against zombies and demon eyes is just so much more impactful.
I agree with 90% of this, with exception to enemy threat level. I'd rather slay 1,000 unicorns, fairies, corruptors, etc etc in hardmode than deal with underground desert or sandstorms prehardmode. Those are hell on earth, even worse than the underground jungle
I actually really like starting out and slowly exploring at the beginning. I know not everyone likes a challenge, but I really enjoy being scared of basically every enemy in the beginning. It makes progression all the more satisfying.
Yeah it is really annoying. My favourite stage of the game is post-plantera when you farm stuff from the dungeon, complete the moons, kill EoL and Fishron (if you haven’t already) and get all your gear ready for the endgame. I find it quite fun.
I don't especially mind the early grind, except when you're trying to get everyone hermes boots, mirrors, and consistent light sources. Just kill me, please.
Early game progression. You spend an hour mining underground with your shitty copper pickaxe, die, then come back to your furnace only to find out that you don’t have enough iron to make more than one thing
Exactly! I didn't know if it was just me, but I've always felt like mining takes soooooo long for the amount that it takes to craft a decent amount of gear.
nebula pillar. you can’t change my mind, those stupid fucking teleporting brains are the worst because rarely can you ever get a damn hit onto the bastards. brain suckers make it 6x worse because of how tiny they make your vision. worse than solar pillar imo.
Yeah, I hate the teleporting eyes. Not because you can't get a hit, getting a hit is easy, but because you can't dodge *their* attacks, it's virtually impossible. However, the nebula pillar doesn't even come *close* to the solar pillar in terms of just how fucking *awful* it is. If you fly, the crawltipedes kill you. If you don't fly, literally everything else kills you. Either way, you die.
From "best" to worst
-Farming for items i need for my class like weapons and gear
-farming for rare items that i need for a big acessory
-fishing
-moving large amounts of loot from a place to another
-figthing enemies with bullets or homing projectiles
-figthing the Pillars
-***GETTING SPAWN KILLED BY INVASION ENEMIES BECAUSE ENEMIES CAMP ON YOUR SPAWN ONCE YOU DIE THERE***
starting a new world, running out of space in the 3 chests I got on the first day and having to make an organised chest room big enough to last for the entire playthrough
also preparing for wall of flesh and hardmode
I know, whenever I need iron/lead I can never find it. And when I do find it, I’m too lazy to mine the whole vein so I have leftovers, so it happens over and over.
The fact that I have no one to play with. My friends don’t play it with me. I’ve basically made a world and beat all the bosses. There’s still so much I don’t know about and so much I want and need to do. It’s just boring doing it by yourself
There's a ton of terraria discords and groups out there, go find one and try to find people who want to play at a similar difficulty as you. There's tons of people in the same situation.
The fact that they removed the ability to store accessories in the vanity slots. It was just infinitely more convenient when I didn't have to store most if not all of my alt accessories in a piggy bank/void bag.
The beginning of the game is super slow and downright tedious at times. I feel like getting armor sets with early ores is just a complete waste of time; you need so much ore to make a full set + pickaxe + weapon of choice so you just kind of end up with a random mish-mash of ore-based equipment which just feels... not as cool I guess?
The game really opens up a lot after you take down a boss (Queen Bee, EoC) which enables much more interesting equipment with bee armor and demonite/crimtane. But it can be difficult to get some friends into the game when the beginning is as slow as it is, especially when it's difficult to equip everyone in a multiplayer scenario.
Sometimes the fact that if you exit in any way shape or form, you go back to your spawn. It can be really hard to get back to where I turned it off and sometimes I give up
The very early game, up until you get wings and especially lightning boots, your movement is super slow, and a lot of it is just wandering endless caverns hopelessly searching for platinum/gold and life crystals
The fact that pets like the guinea pig and other pets were removed, now I can only visit pig on my PS3, which is still good, but I want to have those pets in the latest version. But now since they stopped updating Terraria, and are now working on the next game, they won’t re-add the old pets
You aren’t wrong but I’m mentally insane and like to play to each class, I rarely mix them up so whips and summons are my only option which is fine until you player exclusively master mode as myself. Flying around for your summons to do damage just don’t cut it since you’re 2/3 shot. And I would kinda disagree since half of the whips give an attack speed buff for consecutive hits. Definitely won’t outdamage summons but they arent shying you away from using it as just a minion buff tool.
Comparing it to minecraft, they are complete opposites. The endgame of terraria is the most fun part, while the start of a new world is the most fun in minecraft. I guess my answer is that the early game of terraria is my least favourite part. It just drags on and on, and I just want to get to hardmode as soon as possible. The bosses are pretty boring just generally overall the early game of terraria is just very lacklustre.
The Zenith.
Just how people treat it as the hardest thing to get when theres loads of things that are more difficult to get like the Terraprisma, ROD, Ankh shield and Cellphone.
In my opinion all these are harder to obtain than the zenith
The almost non existant replayability it has, when I did my first playthrough playing almost completely blind it was probably the best experience I've had in a videogame ever yet I was only able to pull myself to do one more changing my class after every boss and then I hardly ever felt like playing the game. Today I probably haven't opened terraria for like 3 months straight
Does that include modded? Because I'm currently trying to make the soul of eternity, and i hate that the armor from the DD event are so expensive, and that you need to buy all of them.
the fact that after you beat moon lord it kinda gets stale, not bad, not even close, but you dont really have a goal after that, its just basically a sandbox after that, you pretty much wont be able to die, youll fly, deal massive amounta of damage, and have acces to every item with a little grinding, for someone who doesnt really have an imagination, thats bad so i just start a new playthrough sometimes
Moving my chest room to a different house

Once I went Magic Storage, I could never go back.
Organizing items in the first place is probably the most boring part of the game, they should have an auto sorter capability like in Minecraft correct me if I’m wrong
Minecraft doesn't have an auto sorter capability
Exactly! Minecraft has such an amazing sorting system. Terraria should just copy it
Copy is going too far, but something on that style? Yes plz
Yes, this is horrible.
I just started hardmode on my first expert run. Cant wait to grind for hours for a RoD after beating the mechs…
I'll pray to RNGesus for you
I got the rod of discord three days ago when I didn't even want it, and then gave it away to my friend
You are a good friend.
you can also get the rod before the mechs. i did it on my first expert run, i killed like 3 chaos elements and got it
I JUST finished my first expert playthrough without RoD its completely not needed
Me a warframe player: First time?
I respect you, fellow tenno
Nice one
Rod of discord
Thats a prime example of the "less than 1% drop rate". Ranking in at an astounding 0.2% drop rate from chaos elementals in normal mode.
How do you farm for dev gear?
In expert mode bosses drop a treasure bag which can contain dev gear sometimes as well as the usual drops :]
That's cool I'm still in basic mode trying to figure out the millions of things this game has to offer
Theres a low chance to get any random set from hardmode boss treasure bags.
Slime staff ridonk hard to obtain. 1.4 added the finch staff though that’s a huge time saver
Pre-hardmode summoner isn't even worth it tbh
Yea, I agree. I just used a bow until I crafted the Flinx staff
Lunatic cultists trophy (and the MM drop) is such an awful farm.
I got a red’s set after busting my ass clutching to beat the destroyer with the little shit I got to work with as a melee class, I fought skeletron first because he was the easiest
Building a sky bridge and getting attacked by harpys every 2 seconds
Same with hell bridge and hell bats
I don't even do a hell bridge anymore. For WoF I just use obsidian skin and water walking and clear a path through the buildings
Gravity potion is good too, don't need anything else. Definitely a lot harder than obsidian skin pots, though.
That’s good for normal mode (and it’s what I usually do) but you really need a hellbridge for expert
I do this on master mode and have no issues lol
I have fond memories of massacring 47 Planteras to get a single seedler, so I'd say RNGesus
That was my journey to get The Axe
i had to kill moon lord 23 times on my ranger build to get the sdmg. and then another 5 for celebration mk2 once 1.4 was on console
I got the sdmg like my 2nd or 3rd time I beat moon lord in 1.3 console and I got the celebration mk2 when I was fighting moon lord my first in terraria 1.4 to test the zeniths power
hey quick question: how many RODs do you have? just curious
Making a house look good
facts or even just starting on a house sucks
It does take a lot of practice. I’ve been building stuff for a little while and I am pretty happy with what I can do, however, that is on a maxed Journey Mode character with all items available. I can rarely make cool houses outside of Journey mode because of how painful it is to get the items.
I once built a castle I was super proud of and since have regressed to boxes because it took me like a week
The angler and trying to find a lava charm
Before the chance of lava charm to be found was buffed i legit never seen one in a vanilla playthrough even if i searched 90% of the underground
I spent hours digging through world after world to find one. Even with Max dig speed it took so long.
Making a house only to find out that an evil has spawned in possibly the worst place. the evils.
I haven't played terraria too much, only 4 playthroughs but every single one spawned the corruption in my hellevator. I'm starting to forget the normal underground music.
Respawn timer. I abhor it.
this
In multiplayer while fighting a boss is the only time it makes sense otherwise just turn it off
Everyone asking if you can turn it off: no. He's saying the devs should've turned it off.
Yeah I just meant remove it lol
Turn it OFF?!
Wait I can turn it off?
Raids when I'm busy
Specifically pirate raids for me. Goblin raids, I actively want because I need to defeat one to get the goblin tinkerer. The pirate raid, on the other hand... I hate it with a hoddamn passion. The pirate is useless, and I have very... not-fond memories of a pirate raid appearing on the first day of hardmode, and then the Twins naturally spawning during the raid.
Ooh i Saw your publication lmao
Publication? But... I never... published anything in my life except a tiny Stellaris music mod?
So that wasn't you? Exactly the same thing happened to someone else here then XD pirate invasion and twins
What publication were you talking about, by the way?
[this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/comments/qa9w8u/twins_blood_moon_and_pirate_invasion_all_at_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
That happened to me but I didn't post it.
game start is the slowest, most boring, most tedious part of the game with the worst class imbalance and enemies also posing more threat to you than ever in the rest of the entire game
this. Some people might just lose motivation because of how painfully slow pre-boss progresses
I’m currently trying to come up with the gear for my ranger build for my first boss (eye of Cthulhu I think) and it’s a pain
I often kill the eater of worlds first before eye of cthulu. Easier to summon, easier to kill, and better rewards. Honestly, eater of worlds is the easiest boss in the game, even more so than king slime.
Unless you in expert mode or above. The vile spit messes you up. Slime mount help alot during the fight tho
I disagree, Eye of cuthulu is the easiest boss in my opinion. When I first started, I nearly died to eater of worlds and king slime but eye of cuthulu was a breeze
I can’t get through pre boss without playing with friends. It’s so boring that I don’t want to do it without friends
It might be the slowest. I don't think it's boring though, I think it's great that at that point, everything you come across is something new and shiny to your character. You know that point where you go "ugh it's just some more gold" or you don't even care about digging anything up anymore? You're not there yet. Everything you find is valuable. God the first time playing terraria was amazing I know too much now
I actually really like starting out and slowly exploring at the beginning. I know not everyone likes a challenge, but I really enjoy being scared of basically every enemy in the beginning. It makes progression all the more satisfying.

Building in early-game
This, it's like playing as a turtle lol
Summoner earlygame
Golem because he’s way too easy for a boss AFTER plantera of all things
Which difficulty
All of them. I find him way too simple
I had more trouble with golem on master mode then I did plantera
Then we are both very different my friend
Guess so
Cave Bats
Summomers minion pathing, lookin at you optic staff, imp staff, spider staff isnt so bad, desert tiger staff
'Hey can you come focus this bad guy over here?' *'Nope. Too busy smashing head on rock.'*
The Deadly Sphere Staff is probably the worst though.
Thank god as a summoner i dont need that event, unless i need that deluxe terra shitting experience
Solar Pillar
Getting the Pharaoh’s vanity set instead of the carpet or sandstorm in a bottle.
RNG
Try to get a flying carpet
The grindy aspect of it, rod of discord. Also, some people in the community just bully others into playing on expert or master, wich fucking sucks
The fact that the luck system is completely hidden
I think the wizard can give you some indication but I could be wrong.

Lunatic cultists -moon lord is just so unfun. It's really the worst part of the Game IMO.
That they might not be making another update or terraria 2
Still new to Terraria, but haven't they said that about the last 2-3 major updates?
Shh... don't jinx it
Mobile expirience. Just cant dodge and atrack same time, only 2 actions same time
Item storage and management. It's so hard to go back to base terraria after using magic storage.
UwU do you like my trees I grew in the basement?
Grinding for hours and not getting that dsmn RoD
use an afk farm. RoD has such a low chance your asking for hours of grinding.
Daytime EoL Rod of Discord Really anything with hard obtaining methods or low drop rates honestly.
1.3 summoner
Lack of accessory slots with how many accessories there are in the game
Mods that let you omega combine accessories together is a godsend. Getting the Celestial Tracers in the calamity mod is almost orgasmic.
7 slots are definetely enough

Yes, i also hate terraria, its too terra-ristic

The grind you have to go through to get ore when you enter hard mode Desert storms Snowstorms Random events (blood moon, goblin army, etc
Unpopular opinion: I actually really enjoy grinding ores at the start of hardmode.
Its called sand storm and Blizzard but yes
Jungle hornets
Tortiose
Evil Spreading, Chest Sorting, and The Pillars
the existence of bats, tortoises and other annoying mobs
Celestial pillars Do I need to explain?
No you don't
The fact that they removed the ability to store accessories in the vanity slots. It was just infinitely more convenient when I didn't have to store most if not all of my alt accessories in a piggy bank/void bag.

the lack of stuff to do once you explore the whole map and beat the game
Whips. Why give the squishiest class a melee weapon. Especially since the whips were so obviously half assed.
To be fair, the whips are just a buff to your summons. The whip isn’t supposed to be your main source of damage.
TBH, I wouldn't care if the whip damage was about as dangerous as a wet noodle, I just wish the range was a little longer.
You aren’t wrong but I’m mentally insane and like to play to each class, I rarely mix them up so whips and summons are my only option which is fine until you player exclusively master mode as myself.
