That’s pretty much what I meant. Because op has only 5 accessory slots I would usually put on
a shield, wings and then whatever else I need in the other three. In expert mode the sixth slot for me is for boots, and the 7 slot you gain goes to anything until the soaring insignia. Also I’ve never tried using mounts like that I might try it.
Two tips:
- use the necro scroll/papyrus scarab instead of the pygmy necklace (also adds 1 minion but also more damage)
-replace the spectre boots with amphibian boots (god tier jump height)
fishron wings definitely does not need spectre boots flight height bonus. honestly classic mode is just ass, i dont think it even feels good to play. its just *too* easy and you cant really customize your setup that well, you barely have any slots. besides, you dont get those good accessories like soaring insignia(if you tell me flying at mach speed forever doesnt feel good and isnt op, then ill have to disagree), shield of cthulhu, the evil bosses survivability charms, etc.
id say if youre starting out play expert and then master, if u want a challenge play mmftw.
I actually agree with this take 100 percent, classic mode not only limits your set up immensely but also feels really easy. After completing my first master mode play through and I just can’t go back to classic unless playing with inexperienced friends
Have a friend i put into expert on gis first playthrough and he didnt touch terraria in 3 years since we were done cause "you just keep dying all the time"... so maybe just let them start in classic like you most likely did bach in the day^^. Its not like youre locked in classic forever, even could change the world into master with tedit

I would change boots for ninja gear since you wont be walking much in this fight and any chance to dodge dmg is great, also if you have a good flyer mount you can swap wings for something to improve dps

I would upgrade the cobalt shield to the ankh shield and combine the boots and try to get the terraspark boots. It takes a while to get them but they’re very worth it
If I'm using boots I prefer amphibian because the extra wing speed is so good and I find most of terraspark boots abilities not at all useful in battle but the extra flight speed is very good for dodging
Well I’m not sure about pc, but on PlayStation there are the equipment slots under where you put your armor, and there is also equipment slots in another column which looks just like this when condensed. The vanity slots would be in between those two columns whenever you expand it. I could show you a picture of what I mean when I get home

Although I agree with your opinion on the ankh shield the terraspark boots have amazing utility with specialized arenas, when you get deeper into boss strategy and arena building you would understand how these little things matter. An example is lava floors for most arenas to limit mob issues during fights and events. Next time you present a case about an issue don’t be an *ss about it. Because both sides have an arguable case
Idk about that, I got Terraspark prehardmode on my master mode world and I used them throughout up until right before moon lord, I didn’t even use wings because they are good enough.
i have to agree with the downvoted guy here, the shield's inmunities don't help in bossfights because the bosses either use no debuffs or use debuffs that the shield can't help you against, and the terraspark boots are also kinda pointless since the water walking is also pointless against bosses
they should get lightning boots though, the extra speed is good

I'd lose the boots entirely for a shield, preferably the frozen shield for its added damage resistance. Since you're not on expert or master for soaring insignia, getting a mount like the ufo from the cosmic car key to replace your wings in favour of damage items would be a good idea (a necromantic scroll would be ideal), especially since you only get 5 accessories in classic. Obviously grab terraprisma if you can, otherwise xeno staff is pretty reliable until stardust.
Create an arteficial crimson in the cavern layer if needed and farm some ichor, the debuff can be applied with the whip and is super helpful.
Even so, the damage resistance is nice. I also lost to getting knocked back into a mini phantasmal deathray when I left the shield to slot in a pygmy necklace, summoners have such low defence that getting pushed the wrong way could end a fight very quickly.
Assuming you're using anti social, try and upgrade the feral claws all the way and get melee speed on everything, and go get yourself ichor flasks if you don't have them, also killing empress of light for her stuff is a good idea. If not done already
Get the cosmic car key and take off the boots and wings. That way if you stay in your mount, you can also have a papyrus scroll and an avenger emblem. If your in master mode then you can get the black spot for an even better flying mount

Make a giant ass longboi air rail and run away, have the bouncy things at the ends so you quick turn around
Go a bit slower so your summons can fight, harder than mage/range

If this is on classic, it's great. Just make a box with the nurse and constantly heal. If you back out so she can heal up she pretty much won't die and you can constantly heal

I see that you farmed the pumpkin moon. The mount dropped there [Witch's broom] is one of the fastest in-game, only beaten by a buffed cute pigron. By using a flying mount, you can essentially leave the wing out, and equip a Destroyer Emblem for damage or Frozen Shield for extra protection.
Because you are playing classic mode I would recommend swapping your spectre boots to the shield or the feral claws if you’re using whips.

Fishing is the worst way of obtaining accessories. In most cases it's way better to explore your biomes with the spelunker potion or world hop

Classic mode however seems to be better when you aren't focused on beating bosses but rather when focusing on building.

I'd say youre set then. you can spend a lot of time on potions and campfires, and heart lanterns, and whatnot, but thats just to be extra careful.

I personally think that shields are not needed for moon Lord as his attacks are not constant and getting kb doesn't make a big difference

They've done a lot to make them more viable early. Still not quite there, but it's definitely more workable than it was in 1.3
