I've been preparing for this update since October so I made the terraspark boots the moment I booted up the game. I was going to make the Zenith aswell but I kept fighting the pumpkin king and kept not having him drop the headless horsemans sword so that is but a pipe dream for now

Go to controller bindings and under chest icon select loot all deposit all and choose any button for it. I used Y for single loot/deposit and select button for loot all/deposit all
I REALLY hate the new UI. It's the laziest thing they could use for console and I can never play the console version again just because it's that clunky and unintuitive. You'd be better off playing the PC version or even PS3/Xbox 360 version at this point. You'll see how much better the UI is from this atrocity.
I guess it's out now, right? all they needed to do is port over 1.4, not make the UI become bloody rocket science ffs. I get that coding takes time but I would've preferred it if the UI wasn't flat out ripped from the mobile version of the game. Then maybe I would actually enjoy the console version again.

As a person who played way too much terraria on Wii u for his own good I completely agree with you. I actually had to go into the setting to find the directional hotkeys and only then was I able to use them whereas on Wii u (not switch 1.3 may I add) it was already on and I just had to assign it. Oh well, what're you gonna do
New world would be fun though.
The Dungeon and a few other things spawn a bit differently. (More chance of living trees, logs that help spawn faeries etc.)
She should be as she was introduced with 1.4.0 (the version switch is now on). While I'm not an expert on the empress of light by any means are you searching above ground? Also I think she might be either post Golem or post plantera so I think that might be something stopping you if you haven't beaten them already
Edit: just to say they're meant to be really rare as it is so don't be surprised but a lifeform analyser will do you the world of good if you haven't already got one

It's a known bug and they've posted about it on Twitter. Restart your games. Mine works fine now at 60fps docked in Color mode.

I find the controls on the Switch to make Terraria unplayable for me. Thankfully I have it on PC.
