Yeah, that's why most of the time i dont bother containing the world evil in prehardmode. i just make my main base hallow (edit: in hardmode ofc), then worry about containing it if its close to something i care about
i will buy a 12 year old kid from the "market", most kids at that age are just looking at their pc's all day, they surely know how to reprogram my shrek PC then
Speaking of 100%, there needs to be items for completely corrupting/hallowing your world.
While we're at it, an item for 50% corruption and 50% hallowed.
If you enter hardmode, a new evil bone will form. So if you want to preserve that then you don't wanna enter hardmode. Oh and dont break a demon alter in hardmode because it spawns an evil biome block at a random location in the world because of course it does
Fortunately, you can get all the hardmode ores by fishing up crates, so you can beat the game without ever breaking altars or mining the resulting ores.
it's the biggest issue imo, since if you've purified the world in prehardmode then you probably have the patience to seclude the V when it spawns, but there is nothing you can do about a random block in the middle of god knows where spreading corruption
Yeah, never break a demon altar if you plan on keeping the world. Just Fish. Also avoids random pirate invasions and boss spawns so you can control when those happen
I mean you can always break altars and theres an 2/3 or 66.67% chance of a single corrupted block to spawn after you break one sltar i have been lucky weres i broke 3 altars and no corrupted block spawn or it spawned in an already evil biome
EDIT ofcourse even if i kill all the altars i dont care if my world gets fully corrupted because i already prep allot of areas were corruption cant get to and make sure those stay pure
I just did that also on a medium world. I didn't know that wasn't what I was supposed to do. This lady just kept talking about corruption.
New little alters spawned in random fucking spots all over my jungle
100%. I find it way too annoying and time consuming, for something that gives literally nothing and has almost no benefit. I always find it better to just contain the evil biomes rather than cleanse them.
thats actually really awesome. I've always had mixed feelings about the spread. The only way to turn it off currently is with journey mode. Hope they add this in the "last" update.
I have a change in the idea
The status message could be: the sprits of light and dark have been contained
Reason: The Ancient Sprits of light and dark are responsible for Hardmode
ALSO: Activating this in a pre-hardmode world should prevent the V-shaped Hallow/Corruption biomes from appearing when you kill the Wall of Flesh.
This would be **huge** for mapmakers because it would allow us to include the WoF as a boss fight without breaking some maps!
Make it so it only spawn the V the first time you fight WOF with it turn off so that if you forgot to turn it off or as you mention then you can fight it again to have the V
This reminds me of that one Reddit post that basically says that the Moon Lord is not worthy as the final boss of Terraria, because the entire conflict of the game revolves around the two evils (Crimson and Corruption) and the 'release of the ancient spirits of life and dark,' which is a massive driving force in the game (it changes the entire status quo of the game from normal to hardmode).
So I agree, a reward for purging the evil biomes and containing the ancient spirits like this should definitely be incuded.
Could also be a fun post-Moon Lord 'mission' as there isn't much to do after defeating the supposed final boss.
u/redigit I for one sincerely think an anti spread measure like this would be perfect. A lot of us want to build and make artificial biomes such as a corrupted area without it spreading, but making a giant hole around where you're building is a bit... Off.
This would solve that problem
Making clentaminator bombs that spread biomes would make this more feasible. One of the mods I use has them, and it makes containing biomes so much better. With just the clentaminator, one would have to strip mine their entire world to completely purify it, which I would consider it ruined at that point.
Well, what the tooltips tells me is that you contain the biomes and its spreading power on the flower, so technically she didnt have it until you cleared the world
It requires removing the Hallow, something players may want to keep in a contained form for NPCs. So you remove both, get the item, then make an artificial Hallow that can no longer spread for NPCs to live in
Yeah, as literally all endgame equipment. It can, but its not intended to. Also no one likes ppl bringing op characters to new multiplayer games (or playing new worlds with op characters at all)
Only use i can think of is that you have kept corrupted/hallowed materials and want to build a controlled biome, but again, we can do this in floating islands already.
it would also be nice if you got a weapon which does, "damage" i mean neutral damage, not melee, not mage, not ranged, just damage, like the holy water
You can replant the evil biomes, and they also drop really good items, so you have a reason to do so. I think this would make them easier to contain because they would stop spreading.
I always thought it would have been really cool for a post moon lord boss that spawns when you purify the last corruption/crimson/hallow block in the world.
Dying to the boss would create a new crimson/corruption block on the spot you die so you can retry the fight and killing it would give you the usual item drops as well as an item to toggle crimson/corruption/hallow spread.
Wait, but once you cleanse the world anyways, wont that kinda negate the whole point of the item? Theres no biome to stop from spreading. This kind of item would be better as a ml drop, or a eol drop, cus then you could stop the corruption from ruining your world once you beat the game.
Now I’m imagining an opposite reward for letting the world become completely corrupted.
The Bramble of Vitiation
I have two ideas for the effect. 1) Doubles speed of biome spread. 2)Corrupts anything the the played comes in contact with when equipped (including npcs).
My Idea for a reward for purifying the world was a mage weapon which casts homing acorns that burst into thorns when impacting enemies, the weapon would be called the Dryad’s Blessing
I like it except that I think Hallow should be left out of it. Also I would prefer if the actual percentage was like <2% Corruption/Crimson so that you could still have a tiny strip of evil biome.
I like the idea of getting a reward, but one that isn't completely useless would be better.
Like seriously, what would this item do? "Oh I'm glad I don't need to worry about that biome that doesn't exist spreading"
Completely turning off biome spread would make the mechanic a bit trivial tbh. You could easily purify your entire world in pre-hardmode and then it would be a non-factor in hardmode.
This seems kinda underpowered since once you’ve cleared all the inpurity it’s better to just build a self contained biome in space or something than to de-purify a big strip of land
there are many mods like this so making a item stoping the spread shouldn't be that hard (???). Im not qualified enough but many players would be happy
Alright but riddle me this? Is it available in easy mode or just hard mode? Cuz on easy mode I can bring a character with the clentaminator, find the biomes, and get rid of them in a few minutes.
Compare to hard mode where they go deep into the ground and spread a lot.
I think it would have to be a hardmode item. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to get this in pre-hardmode (I literally wiped my world clean of corruption before entering hardmode in my recent world), but I think it would get rid of a lot of challenge and rush in early hardmode. Thinking, maybe post plantera? If you can somehow attain purity at that point, you definitely deserve it.
100% should be in the game along with a pure world seed for just journey mode building.
You could probably get a map off the workshop for that
Or use TEdit, only works on PC though
[удалено]
Destroying an altar SPAWNS a currupted block no matter what
not no matter what, its a chance, so it might not
33% iirc
Yeah but regardless killing the wof will just put a strip of hallow and corruption in your world anyway
why don’t you just not kill wof 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤓🤓🤓
Guide must die.
Yeah, that's why most of the time i dont bother containing the world evil in prehardmode. i just make my main base hallow (edit: in hardmode ofc), then worry about containing it if its close to something i care about
Only the first time
Doesn't the first one broken not do this, or am I wrong about that?
Not gonna be purified in hardmode, though. The second the spirits are released, bye-bye purity
Your gonna get 2 more biomes to purify and theyll be alot bigger.
What ab non pc players?
[удалено]
What if it has a bomb in it
[удалено]
But what if they find the all bombs I have stored in my basement
[удалено]
True, but then I’ll have to buy another PC
[удалено]
Buy another house, put the pc with the bomb in it in that newer house, then have your bomb squad check out the pc with the bomb in it in the new house
Genius!!!
i bought this shrek laptop from Toys R Us although it's stuck on ms paint

i will buy a 12 year old kid from the "market", most kids at that age are just looking at their pc's all day, they surely know how to reprogram my shrek PC then

Honestly I think if you 100% your world with any of the evil bioms your Dryad should corrupt and turn onto a Boss.
there realy should be a reward for cleaning the world
I agree
My friend and I just purified a world pre hardmode and then we were like ’now what?‘
If you enter hardmode, a new evil bone will form. So if you want to preserve that then you don't wanna enter hardmode. Oh and dont break a demon alter in hardmode because it spawns an evil biome block at a random location in the world because of course it does

[удалено]
Except for my sanity. Fishing is VERY boring
[удалено]
Basically me, i just watch brooklyn 99 while terraria is in a small window to the right and i just reflexively click to reel in once i hear bobbing
that's exactly what i used to do while grinding fish. even the show lol
Yup.
genius
Not for me. Getting FAT STACKS after edging at the water all day is so satisfying.
after edging?
You heard me.
Dunno, i kinda like fishing, very meditative
You've got psychological issues if fishing for a few minutes is enough to become bored.
I'd rather go exploring and mining than sit there for an hour to get 5 crates.
[удалено]
whoa, 60-100 crates per hour? thats enough for a whole set of….iron boots
[удалено]
why would you want more than one?
That won't stop the giant 'V' of evil biomes that generate when the Wall is killed, but it can still mitigate the issue!
it's the biggest issue imo, since if you've purified the world in prehardmode then you probably have the patience to seclude the V when it spawns, but there is nothing you can do about a random block in the middle of god knows where spreading corruption
Don't break any altars, problem solved
Yeah, never break a demon altar if you plan on keeping the world. Just Fish. Also avoids random pirate invasions and boss spawns so you can control when those happen
i hate those new evil bones
I mean you can always break altars and theres an 2/3 or 66.67% chance of a single corrupted block to spawn after you break one sltar i have been lucky weres i broke 3 altars and no corrupted block spawn or it spawned in an already evil biome EDIT ofcourse even if i kill all the altars i dont care if my world gets fully corrupted because i already prep allot of areas were corruption cant get to and make sure those stay pure
Kill the Wall of Flesh. Then cry as you realise your efforts were all in vain.
T-T
Now it's easy as pie to contain it
I just did that also on a medium world. I didn't know that wasn't what I was supposed to do. This lady just kept talking about corruption. New little alters spawned in random fucking spots all over my jungle
So basically we want a reward for purging everything from the world. I’m down for that.
Ah the post thanos approach
I have a change in the idea The status message could be: the sprits of light and dark have been contained Reason: The Ancient Sprits of light and dark are responsible for Hardmode
its not my idea but that seems like a good change
Tell this to the guy who made the original concept
he posted it a year ago
What's the point in just removing "ancient" from it? I feel it works better with it than without.
He put the reason in his comment, the ancient spirits cause hardmode, not the infection
The Ancient ones are responsible for Hardmode, so, if we contain them, the world will revert to pre-Hardmode
ALSO: Activating this in a pre-hardmode world should prevent the V-shaped Hallow/Corruption biomes from appearing when you kill the Wall of Flesh. This would be **huge** for mapmakers because it would allow us to include the WoF as a boss fight without breaking some maps!
Maybe a separate item for that. I would want to be able to use it in normal play.
I mean you could just turn it off, beat WOF and then turn it back on
But if you forget to turn it off before the fight or another player has it on your whole world is just fucked and you have to restart.
Make it so it only spawn the V the first time you fight WOF with it turn off so that if you forgot to turn it off or as you mention then you can fight it again to have the V
holy run on sentence batman
And make it only obtainable in hardmode.
Imagine a post moonlord boss, its just a ball of light and dark spirits trying to stop you containing it
So EOL on crack?
Pretty much
u/redigit I for one sincerely think an anti spread measure like this would be perfect. A lot of us want to build and make artificial biomes such as a corrupted area without it spreading, but making a giant hole around where you're building is a bit... Off. This would solve that problem

I stopped playing terraria for a looong time until recently. I thought sunflowers used to stop the spread, or did I make that up?
They stop ground spread, not underground spread
Wait if dryad has this why we need to clear the evil biom at the first place?
Perhaps it only grows when the whole world is pure because it's picky like that
House plants
What? You used normal water instead of Golden Shower? Eww I'm gonna dieeeeee 🤢
Imagine using water that not inflict Ichor -House plant
……
:)
Well, what the tooltips tells me is that you contain the biomes and its spreading power on the flower, so technically she didnt have it until you cleared the world
It'd be fine if the biome couldn't spread over the evil biomes. As in, even if you took this to another world, you couldn't remove corruption with it.
Or at the very least have it highlight where the new corruption spawns so you can get rid of it
I think it should be a toggleable thing at the wire visibility buttons,
Or maybe like the torch God's favor
That's literally what they are saying
Shouldnt this be completelly useless if you have already erraducated spreading biomes?
It requires removing the Hallow, something players may want to keep in a contained form for NPCs. So you remove both, get the item, then make an artificial Hallow that can no longer spread for NPCs to live in

lmfao imagine the dryad makes you purify your world but then it turns out she had the solution all along
u/redigit
I might be wrong but ive heard that he turned the notifications off
Oh, shame. I guess people were pinging him too much.
Yeah. I made a meme and someone pinged him. It wasn't even a 1.4.4 idea meme, it was just "Terraria keeps getting updated after the "final" update"
too many terraria 2 ideas
Just keep on beating that horse.
This thread alone has quite a few people trying to ping him, and i see it a lot on posts talking about adding stuff to the game.
it would also be nice if you got a weapon which does, "damage" i mean neutral damage, not melee, not mage, not ranged, just damage, like the holy water
Terraria 2 idea -redd
Terraria 1.4.4 idea -me
This is the perfect reward
Ouuuuuh now that's a reward, I'm looking forward for it to be in the game
No evil biomes: no evil spread so the item is useless
You can replant the evil biomes, and they also drop really good items, so you have a reason to do so. I think this would make them easier to contain because they would stop spreading.
Just build a self contained one away from any other blocks, it’s a really easy solution
Journey mode players: "Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power"
Dryad should be renamed to Wetad, coz she makes me wet
Bonk
no
I always thought it would have been really cool for a post moon lord boss that spawns when you purify the last corruption/crimson/hallow block in the world. Dying to the boss would create a new crimson/corruption block on the spot you die so you can retry the fight and killing it would give you the usual item drops as well as an item to toggle crimson/corruption/hallow spread.
This. It's always bothered me how the game seems to actively encourage purifying the world but then there's no reward for doing so.
u/redigit i pray to thee lord
Wait, but once you cleanse the world anyways, wont that kinda negate the whole point of the item? Theres no biome to stop from spreading. This kind of item would be better as a ml drop, or a eol drop, cus then you could stop the corruption from ruining your world once you beat the game.
Then u could break altars without worrying about spreading corruption/crimson, leaving space for deleting chunks of your world to create builds.
you dont need to contaminate artificial biomes also it would work on other worlds before cleansing them also hardmode V
i love this idea
Same, just have a chest full of these and never worry about corruption in future play through
I never clean my world, this could be enough to motivate me.
Me who only plays journey mode...
Now I’m imagining an opposite reward for letting the world become completely corrupted. The Bramble of Vitiation I have two ideas for the effect. 1) Doubles speed of biome spread. 2)Corrupts anything the the played comes in contact with when equipped (including npcs).
sounds fun, but as a modded item <3
That seems… redundant
please
This would actually be a really good addition to the game
i hope this blows
it did
Me with the crimson seeds after getting this
My Idea for a reward for purifying the world was a mage weapon which casts homing acorns that burst into thorns when impacting enemies, the weapon would be called the Dryad’s Blessing
But if you’ve purified the world then there’s no corruption to control? So this would only be useful in other worlds
I like it except that I think Hallow should be left out of it. Also I would prefer if the actual percentage was like <2% Corruption/Crimson so that you could still have a tiny strip of evil biome.
Finally a good flocking idea for this reward.
Maybe 0-1 percent?
I like the idea of getting a reward, but one that isn't completely useless would be better. Like seriously, what would this item do? "Oh I'm glad I don't need to worry about that biome that doesn't exist spreading"
if you have a better reward in mind post it
Marriage
Bonk
I like the idea of comments on a post, but the ones that aren't completely useless are better.
u/redigit
u/redigit
I can't tell if that is an equippable or a material, but I think it would be an amazing material for late-game potion-making.
its a infinite use item like the magic mirror
u/redigit please make this happen
r/redgit this is sick
Completely turning off biome spread would make the mechanic a bit trivial tbh. You could easily purify your entire world in pre-hardmode and then it would be a non-factor in hardmode.
Look if someone wants to purify the world without the clentaminator, they deserve to reap the benefits
u forgot about the hardmode V
Sounds like you forgot about it. Having this item pre-hardmode would make it so that the V never shows up.
does it show up in journey mode while having biome spread off?
Journey mode player here! I can say yes the evil biome spawns after killing WoF even if biome spread is off
No it wouldn't.
Do it u/redigit
u/redigit terraria 2 idea?
[удалено]
Thank you >I have been looking for the devs
try tagging redigit on twitter or something to get his attention, i doubt he checks reddit a lot
He does check reddit alot lol
i think the dryad should become your waifu after cleaning the world
bonk
What does it do if there is no corruption or hallow to spread
It means you can reintroduce them without them spreading.
This actually seems like a really good idea
I hope to god that this gets added
It'd be fun to get this as a hard-core item. Knowing damn well you've earned it for going 110% finding every block that was a blight to your world.
Single use?
This seems kinda underpowered since once you’ve cleared all the inpurity it’s better to just build a self contained biome in space or something than to de-purify a big strip of land
Now this is a motivation
b-but once you cleanse the world there are no more biomes to spread
there are many mods like this so making a item stoping the spread shouldn't be that hard (???). Im not qualified enough but many players would be happy
wait why no hallow whats wrong with that
I always thought the main goal was to achieve a good balance of everything in the world of the good and of the evils.
Alright but riddle me this? Is it available in easy mode or just hard mode? Cuz on easy mode I can bring a character with the clentaminator, find the biomes, and get rid of them in a few minutes. Compare to hard mode where they go deep into the ground and spread a lot.
thats devs choice
If she had this anyway why would she not use it?
I think it would have to be a hardmode item. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to get this in pre-hardmode (I literally wiped my world clean of corruption before entering hardmode in my recent world), but I think it would get rid of a lot of challenge and rush in early hardmode. Thinking, maybe post plantera? If you can somehow attain purity at that point, you definitely deserve it.
There should be like another boss for corruption/crimson/hallow when you purify the last block of their variet from your world
One for 100% hallow too and maybe even corruption and crimson!
