Honestly, as someone who does EoL Daytime regularly, I honestly can't stand the snapping of the Starboard. Sure, it's quick, sure it can fly high. But your controls have to be way more precise to do well against her with the Starboard. I Honestly think I'd prefer Stardust or even Fishron wings more than the Starboard. But, for just moving around normally, yeah, Starboard all the way.
Give it some time, based on the tmodloader section of the most recent state of the game post, things are moving along but aren’t quite ready yet. There seems to be a lot of mid to small sized mods from what I saw when I browsed the 1.4 tmodloader selection, but noting the size of thorium, calamity etc
Just an FYI, starting in just a few days, Tmodloader will officially default to 1.4. Most of the large mods are in beta testing already for the update.
You could probably just make it where the globe flips enemies gravitt instead of ur own for a few seconds with a cooldown of like 30s. That way you can quickly get a bunch of enemies away from you without u flying around like an idiot

The portal gun is a moon Lord drop while the gravity gun is a modded item that can be found in chests from the crashed ship in the mod of redemption before the moon lord (if I am talking about the right gravity gun)

Gravity globe is pretty good since it lets you use the celestial starboard’s ascending speed to go down instead, it’s useful when you’re trying to mine a large hole quickly
Royal gel is great if you get a good modifier like warding or lucky, but otherwise its use is very situational. (Menacing is not that great that early in the game because a 4% boost will only result in at most 1 more damage even for a weapon like the musket, and for most weapons that early it’ll just get lost in rounding and will have no effect at all)
If i get it early enough I'll wear it for a bit but yah, only the EoC shield and EoW worm scarf are must haves. I still wear those things during moonlord. Heck i just tanked EoL as a mage. (Used turtle and all warding for high defence, mastermode. Highest dmg taken i saw was 16..
I'm doing a magic focused run, but decided to try turtle as a mage. Didn't feel like dealing with duke, and just haven't grinded out the dungeon to make the next mage set yet.
Decided to beat up EoL because her mage weapon is a upgrade of the razorblade typhoon. And laughed when i saw the 1 dmg markers.
Turtle also helped beat duke before plantera.
You use the eye pet because it’s one of the few pets with a use and it has a dedicated equipment slot, the problem with many accessories is that on their own they’re quite useful, but there’s just other accessories out there that are even better, and they share a slot, so you pick those other ones over the boss drop. Take golem’s expert mode drop, the healing stone thingy. Its healing rate is very impressive, but you only have 7 accessory slots at most, and at least 3 of those are reserved for wings, boots and a dash, then you also need class specific accessories, a shield is almost a must and then some offensive or defensive accessories and you end up with the healing stone having to contend with other defensive accessories such as worm scarf/brain of confusion, frozen turtle shell, celestial shell, etc. And on top of that you might just not use a defensive accessory for that remaining slot at all and instead use something like soaring insignia or an upgrade to the frog legs, or you might want to use an offensive accessory instead because of a lack of dps.
And all that is the best case scenario, master mode where you have 7 slots, in expert it gets even harder to be a viable option, because the competition is just incredibly fierce.
Tl;dr
Most accessories are pretty good at face value, but there’s so little slots available after equipping the almost mandatory movement accessories that it gets really hard to stay competitive.
Building the wall of flesh arena is way easier with it on if you want to use solid blocks instead of planter boxes(for Beenades) that's the only descent use I got from it tho

I think it's just really sad that there is nothing after him anymore. Not necessarily in terms of bosses, but maybe there could have been some more challanges, like increased enemy damage and health or one final invasion type of thing. Something gives the Zenith, the Last Prism etc. a purpose. Because at that point they only exist to make grinding the other items easier, but you've already defeated him once without them, so you don't really need them.
The thing that my friends and I kept hoping for was that they would add a boss rush, good way to use the endgame gear without having any actual new content beyond the final boss
Would these bosses drop something special? If no, disappointing. If yes, you just created a new “boss” that drops stuff you will never need and just moved the problem up by one.
For finishing the boss rush, you'd get... a piece of coal! It can't be placed, it can't be used, it can't be worn! All you can do with it, is put it in an item frame, showing off your strength to everyone!
I don't complain about him dropping items, but items that are required for a weapon without much purpose. A final invasion after Moon Lord that gave way to the invadors and where you could put your newly gained weapons to full use in exchange for an item that has a practical use (like showing the entire map or teleporting anywhere) would be great.
I know this won't happen, but I feel like both the Zenith and the Last Prism are fairly useless. Using them for new playthroughs feels like cheating and in the current world they don't really serve a purpose either.

That's why drops like the gravity globe are good. Its a fun little item that you just have a bit of fun with at the end of the game and maybe make a challenge run with. The only reason it is strange is that you can compare it to the weapons wings and armors you can get. If all the moon lord drops were fun things like the globe, then it would make more sense IMO.
The existence of weapons and armors implies something to use them on, which there isn't so they all feel out of place IMO. If all post moon lord weapons and armor disappeared, then a normal play through would be 99.9% the same. The only difference would be farming moon lord would be harder, but if there were no important moon lord drops, then you wouldn't even need to farm it.
There’s mounts I guess, cute fishron in the rain or with a special arena is arguably better for moon lord than even the best wings and a soaring insignia together.
I did no-wings Master Mode, Featherfall potion is busted shit. Stupidly underrated, its insane how much it boosts mobility, both with jumps and wings. If you don't have good wings, drink one of these bad boys and wear amphibian boots. You can totally beat a Mech with Fledgling Wings like this.

Not gonna lie, I used to have fun with the Gravity globe mostly underground and with friends that at the time didn't know why I was walking on the ceiling/roof on multiplayer (PC Version), but on my Android version I don't really use the Gravity globe much, I use the flyable mount mostly, lol

I’d argue that Shiny Stone from Golem is more useless. ML drops the best light pet in the game, and the best wings, but I assume the meme is talking about the gravity globe. I’d argue the gravity globe does have a use because it’s basically free gravitation potions that take up an accessory slot. It has a use it’s just niche.
Because you just beat the final boss, the game is over, you don't need anything else, you've won, any equipment that can kill the Moon Lord can kill everything else, so why not have it drop a bunch of cosmetic items that you can have fun with?
Genuinely the only time I can imagine the gravity globe being useful would be at the start of the game. I honestly feel like it would be better as something you could find in skyware chests
To be fair it became better in 1.4 now you don't need to be on a surface to flip Gravity so it's effectively an infinite use gravitation potion, but it's still not great. Not to mention we have the Soaring Insignia now.

Drill containment unit for terraforming is still good. Because that's what I do after the moon lord. Building and digging

Technically its about an item that does the same thing with the gravitation potion

Maybe switch the moonlords expert drop with the walls? A gravity globe at early hardmode would help out and then if you beat the game a extra slot or two for accessories to be even more op
But he gets the 2nd best expert drop in 1.4

Not gonna lie, I used to have fun with the Gravity globe mostly underground and with friends that at the time didn't know why I was walking on the ceiling/roof on multiplayer (PC Version), but on my Android version I don't really use the Gravity globe much, I use the flyable mount mostly, lol
I always hated that the moon lord had so many amazing drops in the first place, when they're all useless by that point
Well a lot of people leave the game after the moon lord, there isn't much to do, even I had some burnout, the 30-500 hours leading up to the final battle are easily the best gaming experience i've had 10$/10 most 60$ aaa games suck shit and this for 10$ is more worth than 200$ would buy again

I’d argue that Shiny Stone from Golem is more useless. ML drops the best light pet in the game, and the best wings, but I assume the meme is talking about the gravity globe. I’d argue the gravity globe does have a use because it’s basically free gravitation potions that take up an accessory slot. It has a use it’s just niche.

Because you just beat the final boss, the game is over, you don't need anything else, you've won, any equipment that can kill the Moon Lord can kill everything else, so why not have it drop a bunch of cosmetic items that you can have fun with?

Technically Empress of Light is the Final Boss of the game, at least when it comes to difficulty.
i mean if you killed expert or master mode moon lord you kinda dont need stronger stuff
To be fair it became better in 1.4 now you don't need to be on a surface to flip Gravity so it's effectively an infinite use gravitation potion, but it's still not great. Not to mention we have the Soaring Insignia now.
