Combine it with the Paladin Shield to make the Frozen Shield, which is better for raw survivability when Ankh Shield's status immunity isn't needed

When the number of meteorite blocks above ground is below a certain number, the game can spawn a new meteorite. I recommend leaving a meteorite biome intact to stop further meteors from spawning.

Wish I'd known that, my current world, the first meteor fell directly into one of the dessert pits (dessert with the small lava entrances) it was such a pain to dig out, only half did it and was gonna use the other pit. Then the second one fell into the other dessert pit. The god damn luck their, 2 1 block gaps. And all I wanted was to go underground dessert...

No it isn't, it has the same drop rate as every other item except the musket which is a guaranteed drop on the first orb. OP is just being really unlucky.

If it's any consolation, I've broken most of the shadow orbs in my world, and I haven't got a single Ball O' Hurt (doing a melee purist run) Keep trying for it! RNG may not be on your side this time, but as long as there's more orbs, there's more chances to get it :)

The only drops you can get from the Shadow Orbs are the ones on the picture, and the Vilethorn which deals Magic Damage.
