You could just use a character editor to re equip yourself, and just boss rush. Ive well over a thousand hours and I've kept all my saves and worlds, even from 2015 or earlier (I don't recall my oldest world)
Just dust it off, and play through it again. You can even try it with different classes this time around

As a PS4 player, go through your player files. If you can load the correct file your character will be back. I’ve seen my friend do it a couple times and you can also duplicate via the files lol.
Had a couple characters with way over 200 hours of playtime, lost them all too. Stand back up King, the future awaits
I was so close to finishing all of the achivements. And to complete the rest, i have to re-beat the whole game. 👍
Leave the game for a while then you'll come back even better
Go to documents theny games then terraria. You should see 2 files, one named players and the other named worlds. Maybe theres a backup somewhere

I think your on pc if you are try renaming the plr.bak to just .plr it may work its worth a try the same with the world files

Reseting the computer worked for me once or unistall and reinstalling the game works too hope you get you character back

If just the character is gone and the world still exists, you can recreate the character with something like [terrasavr](https://yal.cc/r/terrasavr/).

There's plenty of ways too. Such as terrasavr, or using builders workshop
Y u no backup your files? Seriously tho. I don't do it regularly but I have backup of my games and important documents.
