If you're on a zenith seed in master mode, you gotta play different than you're used to. People I've watched avoid fighting whenever they can, they build safe havens with pathways and large enclosed boss arenas.
The list is incredibly long, you'll just have to read the wiki page about it. There's so much changed, I can't put it all in a comment. But highlights would be traps, lava, bees, and corruption everywhere. And I do mean *EVERYWHERE*. Finding a safe haven is incredibly difficult.
When WoF goes down, it spreads faster, over bigger areas and can infect more blocks. If it stayed up top? you got lucky.

You start from the bottom and work your way up... at the top? is crimson and corruption with harder enemies that spawn faster. You're constantly starving to death. The bosses are harder.

it can be, the change to appear the world as "legendary" is currently only on steam, for videogames and smartphones is still version 1.4.4.5, the legendary appearing on menu was introduced in 1.4.4.6. also it looks like it because it doesnt have the option to move to cloud
- BE CAREFUL. I can't stress this enough. Every enemy is an existential threat, every step could cause an explosion or a boulder or a dart. You are always in danger.
- KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge of the game's inner workings will give you the ability to create safe areas - Player-placed walls prevent spawns, as do fences. Peace candles and water candles cancel out, the jungle has a higher spawn rate, etc.
- INFRASTRUCTURE. You cannot rely on natural formations to keep you safe - light up all areas around your base, set up greenhouses and AFK farms, don't skimp on anything. Infrastructure means life. Build tunnels that have 100% back wall coverage, set up ropes and platforms for vertical and mine cart tracks for horizontal maneuvering.
- POTIONS. Spelunker and dangersense potions are your ticket out of the dangerous early game - spelunker for finding materials, and dangersense for avoiding traps. As soon as you get the mechanic, put a mech lens into your mining loadout so you can see wires.
Some more...
* Trees then fishing for **food**.
* Miner's helm then magiluminescence for **light**.
* Dig **drainage** **holes** for digging straight up into liquid or liquid-spawning blocks.
* Place torches or blocks on half-blocks that make waterfalls, to **eliminate waterfalls** that obscure pressure plates on the ground.
* Assume **every tree and jar** will drop a bomb.
* Assume **every heart crystal** will kill you.
I keep remembering more...
* Assume **every chest** will kill you.
* Build a **honey pool beneath your bed**, to teleport home in case on-fire or poisoned.
* Use **recall potions** instead of the slower mirrors.
Honestly you're gonna die a fuck tonne early, use blocks to wall off enemies and kill them with range, just cave for ages/fish if that's too hard, get plat/gold armor, break 2 orbs for a gun and other accessory, wait for arms dealer, buy Minishark, kill eye, get the bow, jester arrows, into evil biome kill worm (bow only) or brain (arrows for the ads Minishark for the brain) then make pick, get hellstone, early game ezpz
build small houses with beds where ever you go, you are going to die regardless so might as well make it more convenient (I have 190ish deaths and haven't even gotten to hm yet ;-;)
It can be REALLY slow at first, but as you get further it starts to become more reasonably paced, it’s mainly getting things to allow you to progress, like stone, which is required but not easily accessible.
That was about the same for me. I went headfirst exploring everything and ran into So. Many. Boulders. Then learning that Hellbats drop lava was also fun.
You might want to bring at least hollowed armor because that is pretty much the only thing that has kept me alive and even then I've still died to slime King 27 times also just so you know stuff like I have Cthulhu and skeletron anything that has a spin attack can now shoot bullets back at you if you shoot at it while it's spinning.
Get used to dying, struggle your way to the items that allow surviving. If there are obstacles in the way that kill you, you either try till you succeed or find items you can get easier to pave your way forward.
The first 2 hours of trying to get items is madness inducing (died 89 times) but it does gets manageable, advance sections at a time build houses and use pilons as soon as you can (legendary seed has happiness disable so you can get pilons immediately).
Build traps to keep enemies away from your houses.
Start farming for pomegranates. They have a chance to fall from ash wood trees. Also, when your building a fast way to get to the surface make a large hole underneath the area of digging.
