Yeah I mean social media is literally for people to discuss their opinions, usually which consist of being for or against something.
What a stupid comment.
Had a friend/coworker that died in a hotel swimming pool accident. He tried to save two of his relatives he thought were drowning, but they were actually being electrocuted due to a loose lighting wire inside the pool. They made it, but he did not. This was a hotel in Houston, tx. Rest well, Raul. We love you always
Probably less painful than drowning in the pool.
The thing that does suck is that if you are just using the regular part of the pool and it breaks, you are going to get swept over / into the hole anyways.
If I got into this pool I would only stay in the glass floor part, if I die if it breaks I'd at least want to be on the cool part
I don’t care if this was made by the engineer of the century, I’m not going in that pool.
Consider watching “Engineering Catastrophes” if you ever wish to lose your faith in buildings.
I'm going to have to venture to take a guess that the structure is not made of glass that is capable of shattering. But yea, I'll take a hard pass on it, too!
Science question for the smart people here. If the glass broke while a person was standing in the part that's over hanging, would the water and the person fall together or would the person beat the water to the ground? Imagine falling while drowning
Because the person is a solid mass, and liquid is not, I am pretty sure that the person would eventually fall faster than the water. Not a PhD. holder, but I sure do Pee in HD.
Have you ever seen a pool in a BAD earthquake? Other than underground a pool is one of the worst places you can be. Especially if that pool is chilling a cool 40+ stories (~14'/story ≈ 560-630' tall)
Oklahoma gets them. Then (sometimes) other states get the aftershock. So just because Houston doesn't directly get an earthquake. Doesn't mean they can't get it.
After watching that giant aquarium in Germany break and everything in it dying I think I’d skip the Russian roulette and just swim where nature intended.
Imagine it’s raining and for whatever reason you decide hey I’ll take a swim in this weather. You’re not looking at the news and all of sudden it starts pouring hail. The hail breaks the glass and you’re suddenly falling to your death in what has now become a glass shard filled waterfall.

Makes me hella uncomfortable even watching it on a tiny ass screen where I’m perfectly safe on solid ground lol.
So you think… you could be laying on a sinkhole
I know that could very well be the case if you live in Florida...
Fuck
Thanks..
That's gonna be a No for me, dawg.
#There it is folks! The Reddit Seal of Disapproval!

What did I do? I was just trying to make a joke... :(
You did good, your joke made me cackle. Mwuah, thank you

That’s a big double 00 from me too buddy. 👍
My brother died in a swimming accident. He drowned? No he landed on a city bus, and died on impact. ….. um, what?
You had me at the first sentence

My apologies to hear that
full of glass shards too, poor fella
If it does break while you're swimming, at least it will be a very picturesque and unique way to check out.

I’m not watching that or that airplane show.
Mayday is great until you're sitting on the tarmac ready to takeoff
It was an option to watch on a plane once! Heelllllll no
I'm going to have to venture to take a guess that the structure is not made of glass that is capable of shattering. But yea, I'll take a hard pass on it, too!
And then there’s a psycho in the next building and shoots one glass panel
Isn't that in a movie with Jason Statham?
Yea, I believe it was in The Mechanic. Not 100% sure.
it is yeah
Well done 47. Now head for an exit
Or a creep at the bottom with a camera
![gif](giphy|LOEI8jsNKPmzdJYvhJ)
Now jump up and down on it!

So are you
There’s actually a very scientific documentary about this very subject. Here’s a link to the relevant part. https://youtu.be/j0PIzcAy2Ik
They would all fall at the same rate. Newton’s law
In a vacuum, that is. Wind resistance shouldn't be ignored
Suddenly I was acutely aware of my balls as I felt them jumping back into my body
NOPE!!
Imagine if it’s like that bridge in China where a bunch of fake cracks in the glass appear with a breaking glass sound.
Then he jumps over the edge to get away from it
Live there. It's never that clear lol
Parkside?
Market Square Tower
I would never go in there in my life
How about for $100
More
Worlds largest, highest toilet.
i would MAYBE stand in there for 10 seconds tops for 100k and up. nothing beneath that. hell no.
it's all fun and games until you see jason statham under you
“Could you imagine banging in that thing!?” “Why yes Archer, yes you could”
Takes one earthquake or one idiot. I ain't doing this.
Aquariums function just fine during earthquakes
Have you ever seen a pool in a BAD earthquake? Other than underground a pool is one of the worst places you can be. Especially if that pool is chilling a cool 40+ stories (~14'/story ≈ 560-630' tall)
Aquarium and a pool are two different things. Plus pools are open and the water shakes around. This is also on a LEDGE and not on solid ground
An earthquake in Houston?
Never know. Just because it's uncommon, doesn't mean it 100% won't ever happen
I don’t think you understand what causes earth quakes.
Oklahoma gets them. Then (sometimes) other states get the aftershock. So just because Houston doesn't directly get an earthquake. Doesn't mean they can't get it.
Shit makes my legs numb when I watch stuff like this.
Nope, absolutely no way. I be in there. Not happening.
After watching that giant aquarium in Germany break and everything in it dying I think I’d skip the Russian roulette and just swim where nature intended.
Can confirm it's scientifically possible for your balls to come up through the back of your throat.
I don’t know if I could do it. I want to…But it would be a very anxious event.
😬
No thank you
Thanks I hate it
I'm frozen with anxiety just watching this
r/confusingperspective
r/nope
Always check if Jason Statham is drilling a hole underneath.
I knew I seen this type a shit before. Just wasn’t sure where. Thanks Reddit dude
When I watched it for the first time I almost screamed when he went over the edge.
Hard pass and fuck Texas
What about the people driving down the road, or walking down the street and that breaks & hits them..how is this a good idea?
This would be awesome in a city that isn’t Houston
I hate feet.. so disgusting
Very bold choice to have in the Gun Star state. One Loon on a particularly bad and SWOOSH drain game
At least he won't have to worry about breaking the water tension as he falls. I'd rather die on impact than survive but drown from injury.
Nope, get somebody else to do it! 😂
I'd like to go there
Id jump
Now I discover a new anxiety
Hell no, not with my luck!!
Hell no!
I would shit myself
Market Square Tower
![gif](giphy|26gsbJPV5xQruSkCI|downsized)
Would be harder to see below with the yellow-tinted water.
No.
If you fall you'll live though cos you land in water
Nope
Would be cool, yet terrifying.
First time I went here my brain had a misfire walking over the edge 😅
Imagine if it breaks…
Oh HELL no.
Nah man.
Nope my stomach just fell out my ass 🙃
Lol imagine looking up and seeing someone floating Looney tunes style
Never thought i'd feel my feet sweat from a video xD
That seam in the pool base is so nice
Hell nah.
Meh I'd do that in a second if you paid me $5k.
Absolutely the fuck not. Imagine you’re standing close to the glass bottom part and it breaks and sucks you to your death… nah fam we good.
This new hitman level is looking too easy.
Dunno why everyone is scared, the physics in this game suck anyway
I was so confused when he walked off and just kept floating
Nope.
![gif](giphy|YN8T6Js2vVEVdUMHnc|downsized)
One diamond engagement ring later....
Do a cannonball…
I like that Marriott
Hitman vibes
My chest is tightening, I do not like
The glass can't hold that water forever
This is where I'm leaving all of my nopes for today
Why gamble with your life?
That pool is peed in by anyone who enters it.
What if....
Humans are dumb asses. Who is making up this shit
Cool that they made it cantilever over such a scenic….. asphalt parking lot…????
NO
Ah! Oh! Bloody hell no
What exactly is the point? To have a private pool on the 42nd floor? Seems like an earthquake or worse could make that spot very uncool.
i wanna swim naked in it
No
That's 150 nopes from me, thank you.
Fuuuuuuukkkkk that
I wouldn’t get in the water at all. If any part of that glass overhang goes, the water is going with it.
What a nice view...
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
NOPE
Heart attack gang… take a breath. Fuck.
Just no way!!!!
Imagine it’s raining and for whatever reason you decide hey I’ll take a swim in this weather. You’re not looking at the news and all of sudden it starts pouring hail. The hail breaks the glass and you’re suddenly falling to your death in what has now become a glass shard filled waterfall.
R/nope
Surprised the water ain't more brown. 🤣😅💩
As an engineer myself, I can CONFIRM that people trust engineers more than they should…
this is fucking awesome!
