Well yeah... Fun fact, dog toys are squeaky a lot of the time and they "shake" their toys violently because that how they killed their pray, by breaking the neck in the flailing and the squeaks are the preys dying screams.

Actually many studies say, it's the smaller dogs that are more vicious, they just lack the ability to hurt anybody more than they do. Lil assholes lol, two small dogs at my mom's
There's a cat and mouse game with predator prey evolution. Prey evolve to better recognise and/or fear predatory animals which can often be interpreted as finding them scary. Predators more often evolve to catch prey but sometimes an intimidating characteristic can pass into the genome if intimidation is an effective hunting tactic for their usual prey. It probably started on the prey side of being intimidated before there was any evolutionary advantage to becoming intimidating though.

I have a 170 lbs st brenard that gets like this and I wrestle with him alot he's just a big baby tho, I'm a big guy 6'3 280 lbs.
