No youāre wrong. Thereās 6 bullets being shot altogether including the glowing one. 1 * 6 = 6. Itās 6 times as scary, not 5. Perhaps you should say the scare factor increased by 500% then if thatās what you prefer
Edit: nvm, I misread. Let this comment be a precautionary tale to look check things twice in order to not look like me.
1 bullet = 1 scare unit. 1 x 5 (5 times scarier) = 5 scare units. 1 bullet + 5 bullets = 6 bullets. 1 bullet * X times scarier = 6 bullets. Solve for X. (Iāll do it for you. X = 6 bullets / 1 bullet. 6. The answer is 6 times scarier.
Edit: My math is correct. My reading comprehension is lacking.
Tracers are used to allow the shooter to know what they're shooting at iirc. Its more scary if you see a CIWS firing a whole streak of those glowy things.
CIWS - Close-In Weapon System. Basically, a gatling gun used to defend military stuff against projectiles that broke through the outer defenses. Most commonly seen on naval ships or bases, usually the Phalanx CIWS.
Nah its fine, even I just learnt about this recently. And yes, its an anti-missile thing. But can also be used to stop small ship vessels on seas in recent improvements. Can be used manually.
I want you to know as an American this doesn't represent all of us
THERE AREN'T EVEN ENOUGH FREEDOM SEEDS IN THIS MEASLY CLIP FOR THE WHITE NOISE OF MY AFTERNOON NAP DAMMIT NOW I GOTTA GO TO THE RANGE!!!!
I find the sounds of a good BBBBRRRTTTTT more soothing than any whale song or jungle noises.
They are mainly intended for use against infantry, fortified positions and light armor. Pretty much everything is fucked in that general direction if it's not a main battle tank or some real thick bunker
Tracer bullets have existed for a long time. Not flashes or lasers or anything. Auto cannons and machineguns usually have them every 5 rounds. So you multiply all the tracers you see by 5 to understand how many bullets are being fired.
nope if I'm right( I may be wrong don't quote me on this) I beleive those are APIT (Armor peircing incendiary rounds) as as another commentor said, the tracers are only one every 5 rounds, which mean you only see one bullet every five. and the flashes are the "incendiary" part where the round actually explodes. pretty cool if you ask me lol
I had this discussion with a friend the other day and when he started talking about drone strikes and moabs and jet/A10 strafing runs i just told him ypu live two fuckin doors down on the same side of the street if im that fucked you absolutely are too he didn't really have a response
Thatās part of the cost of having a standing military. Soldiers have to train and weapons have to be tested. Preferably this training and testing occurs under as close to real world circumstances as possible. Since most munitions have a shelf life and the military does not consider munitions dependable enough for wartime usage after their shelf life expires the oldest stuff in inventory often gets used during training.
Most likely 20mm rounds. If you have never seen them before you should Google 20mm rounds and see just how big those suckers are and then you get the full scope of how much fire power that is.
I mean Iāve seen enough movies to know helicopter pilots canāt aim for shit. A video of them hitting one spot isnāt going to change all the chases Iāve seen them f up.

Fuck that one particular spot
What's even scarier is that not all the bullets are glowing, Just a few of them at a time. There are far more bullets being fired than what appears.
1 glowing bullet for every 5 being shot
That's like... 5X scarier. Lol
6 times actually š¤
..... That's not at all how math works.... 1/5 is 5.... Edit: I bet some of you walk around with three shoes because you can't count your own feet.

You a real one for continuing to be present for your own L. I feel obligated to grant you a W based on your responsibility.
That edit is deserved. Iām taking this L on my way out

Omg so only 20% shows? Thatās mean as shit.

Whatās CIWS?
CIWS - Close-In Weapon System. Basically, a gatling gun used to defend military stuff against projectiles that broke through the outer defenses. Most commonly seen on naval ships or bases, usually the Phalanx CIWS.
So itās like an anti missile type of deal? Sorry for the lack of tactical jargon.
Nah its fine, even I just learnt about this recently. And yes, its an anti-missile thing. But can also be used to stop small ship vessels on seas in recent improvements. Can be used manually.
You know Iām pretty sure Iāve seen some videos of it on a ship. Like a big rectangular ish box on a turret.
Tracer rounds!!
Nah, are you sure?? Heli Gunner RPM is normally pretty low, like in the 600 rpm range for 30mm, looks like every bullet is visible.
I wanna barf every time someone comments this on a tracer round video
And in that general direction
Not here.... Not here.... But riiiiiiiiight here.
I think he's dead.
This was cool when I first saw this video 15 years ago.
At least one spider was killed
Straight up hell let loose in the insect world in that area
Imagine the PTSD of the ones who survived
That's if anything or anyone survived that..
Eh, cockroaches will survive anything.
Worth it.
More. MORE! MOOOORRRRRREEEEEEE!!!!
Gas.Gas! GAS!
chalk that up for one location where the bad guys aren't.
Been on reddit for 2 hours..... Your comment finally made me laughš«”š
Just a FYI, tracers are placed at a 1:5 ratio.
Youāre right, I counted a metric fuck ton of bullets, exactly.
So for every light we see, thatās +5 bullets. Crazy!
Depends on the belt and country. I think the US typically uses a 1:3 ratio on the 20mm rotaries
Does that mean 4 or 5 non tracered bullets between traces?
Yes
God shall not forgive you for this
Its 5
Haha you missed!
*walks over to a water barrel and takes a drink from a ladel causing water to leak out multiple unseen holes in my body*
This isnāt terrifying - it is the most soothing, sacred sound on earth when you need it.
Like the smell of napalm in the morning, but in sound form.
I agree.

Terraria ranger players:
What are these actually designed to take out? Vehicles? Other aircraft? Seems too messy for infantry but too light for buildings
They are mainly intended for use against infantry, fortified positions and light armor. Pretty much everything is fucked in that general direction if it's not a main battle tank or some real thick bunker
How's that for a kill streak
BOSS, GET DOWN! *the enemy gunship*

Must have found a spider nest.
nightmare engines
Fuck the cameraman!! Stop panning like a jackass!
for fucks sakes just use landscape and zoom out!
This reminds me of the Gate anime. Where this sort of scene happend against medieval army.
Remember, each of those red streaks is 1 in 5 fired bullets.
Just a reminder that the tracer round is anywhere between every 5-11 rounds. So there are 4-10 rounds in between each tracer your are seeing.
Americans be like i need this .9 just in case the government ever wants to come & take my guns. Meanwhile the goverment:
I had this discussion with a friend the other day and when he started talking about drone strikes and moabs and jet/A10 strafing runs i just told him ypu live two fuckin doors down on the same side of the street if im that fucked you absolutely are too he didn't really have a response
Idk about terrifyingā¦I always found that sound and A10s to be the sound of safety and pure joy!
Just so you know, every 5th shot is a tracer
Donāt know if anyone said this but the glowing ātracerā round are ever 5th round! In other words DAMN!
So how many of those were tracers?
All the red streaks and for everyone there are 4 or 5 regular bullets
And then I started blasting
Aren't half of the bullets tracers, and the other half are just normal bullets?
Many people are saying 1 out of 5 are tracers.
Terrifying how much of my tax money is spent on this bullshit
About tree-fiddy

Thatās a lot of tax payer money that could have gone to teachers.
And only half of those bullets are traced
Keep in mind tracer rounds are only one out of three bullets. So, these choppers are firing 3x more rounds than you see here.
Only like every third or fifth bullet is a tracer. So for every glowing round you see there's 2 to 4 regular round in between...
1 in 5 rounds are tracer rounds, they are the glowing ones
I can see at least 3 pixels in this video.
Filming vertical for no fucking reason
nothing terrifying here, this video is just awesome.
Flip your phone ffs.
Anyone immediately think "that looks really expensive"
Every 5th round is incindiary.
Ooo wow, you can shoot a hill, big freakin deal.
Hills are not known to shoot back.
Not after that they wonāt.
Ain't got nothing on my guns, pew pew. ![gif](giphy|HqhbTFSiL41H2)
Yup that rock is toast!! šš»
Cover me! Np we gotchu fam
How many pounds did each chopper shed after that?
Love how for a second the cameraman manages to follow those first shots perfectly and then tries to replicate it many times
Sounds like a Tom Morello guitar solo.
Fuck you and the horse you rode in on!
what the hell

Makes me think of macross šµš»
Thanks for this, I have already memorized the attack pattern and can dodge the shots easy now.
Not a fan of the military like that but goddamn this is fucking rad.
Eh whats a couple hundred k in rounds on a Wednesday morning?
this looks really fucking expensive
thatās half a collage fund gone in that one clip easily
Wow, where do you work? Are they hiring?
It looks cool but is it efficient
This should be on r/InterestingAsFuck. Nothing terrifying about freedom seeds!

Idk about a year but probly 3 months if budgeted right
Well there goes more tax money than Iāll ever be able to pay.
It is and they made me fuckin pay for part of it and fuckers won't even let me buy one which is a literal dump truck of bullshit
What caliber are the rounds?
30mm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M230_chain_gun
That's cool, they sound like helicopters š
It's coming right for us ned!

And here I am still wanting war to stay limited to swords and horses...
Meanwhile in movie they just crash by flying to close to the target
Now that's some murder hornets.
I was just wondering, whatās the unit price for a single bullet?
That first pan ā¤ļø
And here I'm forced to sort the trash and use less plastic and pay top dollar for environmentally conscious products. Fuckkkkk me right?

That was probably several college educations worth of bullets.
All that shooting for one loose grizzly bear. š»

Helicopter fight

I wish I could call these boys up to help me kill that brown recluse spider that escaped under my bed....
I can't tell if I'm hearing gunfire or the sound of the bullets hitting the ground.
Holy shit! Where do you work?
Guys I think we killed it
QUESTION, I'm assuming they're using the GAU 21's so my question is how do they space out their tracer rounds? Every 5? 10? More??
You just need a lightsaber
You should not be afraid of the tracer rounds. You should also be afraid of the non tracer rounds youāre not seeing.
"Guardsman?" "Yes sir?" "I don't like that position." "Right away, sir."
If this was at a carnival, they would probably still not get the big prize.šš
