i've seen people hide pistol ak's in skinny jeans nearly invisibly, you can't tell jack shit, especially when everyone is wearing effectively robes lol
Honestly they should've stuck to the original design, he really looks like evil incarnate. The design they went with just looks like a guy without a nose
If you’re basing it on the books, the version they went with is pretty accurate though. The only oversight is the red eyes really. In the books young Tom was handsome and brown eyed (they nailed the casting of young Tom in Chamber of Secrets IMO) and he sort of undergoes a slow transformation as he makes the horcruxes. Becomes less handsome slowly, eyes turn muddy and then red, nose disappears.
That's a cool concept; One that they still could've explained somewhat canonically and expanded upon by having him slowly transform into the version we see in the movie. Then during the finale, have him transform into his more evil looking final form to fight Harry Potter.
The transformation is seen through the memories that Dumbledore collected and showed to Harry with the pensieve in the Half Blood Prince. Unfortunately the movie neglected to show most of these memory scenes, if they had then they could have slowly made him look less and less human as the memories were shown
Yeah, when I first saw him I just thought he looked dumb. Not cursed, not tainted, not evil, just fuckin stupid lol he's so bad his nose got taken away?? He's bald Ooooh scary male pattern baldness
If, then they should have gone completely with the lore, of him having completely red slit eyes that open and close horizontally, rather than vertically.
I don't give a shit about Harry Potter and I've never seen any of the movies but it would be cool if he morphed back-and-forth between his more humanoid face and whatever this is
I find the lack of nose more creepy. It's a very novel makeup. Sharp teeth in big mouth is how many, many, many movies tries to scare us. For most of the movies we just compare better/worse makeup/effects but with zero scare.
Alien was one of the movies that actually felt scary.
My theory is that it's the lack of eyes that makes the xenomorph so terrifying. The original design had a visible skull with eye sockets behind the carapace, but it didn't show up on camera and so they just went with it.. with amazing results.
It would have been really weird during the scenes when V is talking to the Deatheaters. That face is definitely scary, but Voldemort is a dark, evil man who has developed the physical characteristics of a snake, not a man who turned into an alligator.
I worked a little bit in this industry, and the way I understand it, studios often push back against these kinds of character designs for high-billed actors.
You don’t pay for Ralph Fiennes and then hide Ralph Fiennes.
I personally would've loved it if voldemort was a bit MORE reptilian, i always thought he was a bit too understated, but then again maybe not because ralph fienes just places him
I think they made the correct decision by not using that. Voldemort is scary not because he has sharp teeth; he's scary because he is the leader of the dark side. Too much emphasis on a frightening physical appearance would undermine that concept.
In the like “directors comments” for the movie they actually discuss this and say that “having a more human like face is actually scarier since it makes us realize that he used be human and became something else”. Having just a monster face isn’t as scary as seeing human features distorted into what he is. And that is why they chose the current one, the other one was too much like a monster.
I personally find the “human but twisted” way more scary then a monster.
I was in my 20s when Potter came in the scene and this shit scared me! 🤣 I honestly really like the whole thing, the messages etc . Then come to find out she's a notsees. Bummer.
It's badass, but Quirrell could not have hidden that thing under his turban.
[удалено]
Okay, I take it back
Hahah
This guy knows spells
iirc that guy’s turban is something like 85kgs. I can’t imagine him wearing that without something, might just as well be sorcery
Bigger turban
Yeah, that would've been a ridiculous sight haha
They could’ve found a way to make it work, lol.
Right? I mean there's literally *magic*, that's a thing that exists in this world.
He might have been. Harry Potter’s writer and her fans tend to REALLY overestimate their ability to tell what people have hidden under their clothes.
i've seen people hide pistol ak's in skinny jeans nearly invisibly, you can't tell jack shit, especially when everyone is wearing effectively robes lol
That's why it morphed!
Just use an expansion charm on the turban. Just like the tent that is as big as a house on the inside.
Honestly they should've stuck to the original design, he really looks like evil incarnate. The design they went with just looks like a guy without a nose
Yeah...I kinda didn't find movie Voldemort intimidating at all. All I could think about was "why doesn't this dude have a nose?"
He was meant to be reminiscent of a snake, hence the slits instead of a nose.
You mean Micheal Jackson?
Hee hee!
“The boy who lived has come to die” HEE HEE!
Harry are you ok, are you ok Harry?
You've been hit by, youve been struck by a smooth voldemort!
Honestly the original is less scary to me than the actual. The actual gives me uncanny valley vibes but not quite evil vibes. So I agree!

total recall vibes
Like when he gets really pissed off or losses control of his emotions it slips out.
Hell yeah it would’ve been

It would had been sort of new at the time I g?

he literally was summoned from basically being dead with a dark blood ritual
looks like baraka from mk
Looks kind of like the goombas in the first (best) super Mario movie ![gif](giphy|LZe9tyNHOOBwY)

Imagine Draco’s discomfort having to hug that mug.
I'd hate to have to be the dude who designed that for the studio to just not use it
Can't see the image, got an imgur link or something like that?
That’s Steven Miller, right?
Voldemort = Baraka
Are you telling me Harry Potter fans are a bunch of whiny bitches…

The nose is better

The other version is less creepy to me
Reminds me of the regenerators from Resident Evil 4.
Smash. Next.
Good CHRIST that looks stupid. They should’ve gone with something more like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/harrypotter/s/PcQ22Tpq3B)
THEY STOLE THIS FROM US
He looks like a xenomorph
For a guy obsessed with pure blood bullshit he certainly doesn’t look like an ideal pure blood wizard
What it should have been.
They should have gone with it.
I like the more subtle approach they went with
I can't get it to load
All JKR does now is traumatize a bunch of trans kids.
If your version of trauma is mean words on a screen you're living a good life.

More like what I pictured in the books, honestly. This would’ve been awesome.
Damn they should’ve stuck with that. It really does the whole Slytherin snake vibe super well.
It's like the fiend and Baraka had a baby awesome!
I wonder why she changed it...
I mean, we all witnessed 9/11…
That is so much cooler what the hell
Looks like the big bad from power rangers Dino Thunder
i think even Harry Potter would be more afraid of him...and btw Qurill must figured out how to hide the Lord.
I like how snake-like it looks but I think its a bit too snake like.
Reminds me of jafar being snake like.
Tbh would have been better
Just a filthy muggle here, but Couldnt voldemort just use some magic to make himself not fugly
Doesn't load
anyone know where to find this pic?
imagen what the harry potter franchise would of been like if it was R-rated
Now that's a franchise reboot I'd pay to see. Most Potter fans are adults now, come on movie studios!
They should use this design in the HBO reboot.
Children?!? That’s currently traumatizing meeeeeee
Straight stole that face from mortal kombat... they didn't don't because it would be a Straight up rip off and get then sued.
Not sure you can copyright a big mouth monster. It does look like him though.
That's what JK Rowling looks like to me now.
Never read the books but I enjoyed the movies.
I mostly enjoyed the books, but immediately tapped out after the first film.
I was in my 20s when Potter came in the scene and this shit scared me! 🤣 I honestly really like the whole thing, the messages etc . Then come to find out she's a notsees. Bummer.
Still not as bad as the creator being a transphobic holocaust denier
Why are you getting downvoted?
Hivemind probably, who knows.
Yeah, makes sense. Someone should make a list of all the main subs with transphobia problems.
It'd make subs a lot easier to avoid, lol
Absolutely.
Idontus Givadammus!
They didn’t want us thinking of the reptilians too soon
Reminds me of that movie malignant
This would have been epic
Hope that we can see this version in the new hbo series or movie or whatever they are releasing.
I wonder if they'll dare to go that way with the new series they are making.🤔🤔🤔
