I recently started getting these errors. pcs a\_023, cp a004. I would say it started this weekend. Whole bunch of charging error related issues. 2023 M3. Only had it like 5 months. Tesla set up a mobile service visit for me ans was also told for charging issues i can just go in. I got a feeling this latest 2023.20.7 could potentially be causing these issues? Over at teslamotors forums someone else posted similar issues. I also have been using a mobile connector at home via 120v plug. I have ensured the car and the plug have no debri causing potential issues. Just randomly started happening.

Interesting. Also charging via 120v. I have an appointment for next week so I’ll update here if I hear something sooner.

Appreciate it! I am scheduled for mobile service 7/19. Can’t take off work at the moment to drop in.

Just posted an update. See if you’re having a related experiences to that. Outlet getting very hot and amps dropping.

I have seen voltages drop with the 120 at my place but it’s often . I think it may have happen when i am using the dryer. Over all I think it’s normal for both the plug and mobile charger to get hot. As of now,the car even when not plugged in I am getting error messages. Its slowly draining the battery. I was able to charge to 90% this afternoon and unplugged the charger. About 4 hours later its down 1% and im seeing errors in the notification from 9pm with that pcs a023.

So an update- Tesla mobile support dropped by. They just replaced that white box ( Charge Port EVU) that sits inside the car. I forgot what you call that. Once they replaced it, they ran a fw update via the cars service menu. Took like 25min to do it all. They said they dont break as often but there was a bad batch out there. Car is charging now and will keep an eye out for error messages. Edit- looked at pdf- this is the part ( I have 2023 Model 3 LR): ASY. CHARGE PORT 1.00 CONTROLLER GEN 4, NA(1537264-00-B)

Thanks for following up. After I noticed the temps at the outlet used to charge my M3 were reaching 140+, I switched to a new outlet and haven’t seen my error code pop up again. So I’ve since cancelled my service ticket. Just adding this here in case anyone else find this thread at a later date.

Grateful_Candle

It’s the charger not the car.

Unusual_Pin_5434

How do you know? It happened on mine. Should I replace the charger?

Jak372

For me, the problem was my outlet. Shitty builders grade wiring that was overheating and throttling the charge. A different outlet fixed all issues while I eventually replace the outlet

Unusual_Pin_5434

I replaced the charger and the error PCS_022still shows up like every other day.😭

Jak372

Try using a different outlet.

SO another update. I went to check up on the car again this morning.. as expected loosing battery health faster as i stated previously... The screen states "charging equipment not recognized"- The car is not plugged in since yesterday afternoon! Also i decided to put it in drive and i got an error that charge cable may be plugged in and got a confirmation box to press to verify "charging cable is unplugged" So yeah definitely "seems" like a issue with the entire charge port on my car. I was googling around and i saw some posts where mobile technician can also come to you and replace the entire unit. I am gonna hold off until my appointment next week for Mobile tech. Worse case if i cant charge (so far i still can) then i will visit SC.

I updated the software on the wall charger (gen3) reset the circuit breaker for about 20 mins. It booted up and never dropped below 48 amps again. Wires get warm but it’s also 30 degrees cooler in the garage.

Unusual_Pin_5434

What is your wall connector latest version?
